WHEREIN LIES THE PROBLEM ? IS WINDOWS 7 JUNK ? OR WAS THE INSTALLATION NOT DONE PROPERLY ? I SPENT GOOD MONEY FOR THE SOFTWARE AND FOR THE INSTALLATION AND THE RESULT IS BAD BAD BAD. UNHAPPY AND DISAPPOINTED .

NO ONE TOLD ME I COULD NOT INSTALL OVER 8.1 HP SYS

I was told that W7 could replace W8 by a sales person in the computer group. Geek squad said that is not something that could be done. So I was out of $99 because they there not going to charge me for setting up my new laptop but, it turns out I wasn't charged anyway because I have Geek Squad contract so basically, I was taken for $99.

I ordered this disk to change my desktop from Linux to Windows 7. All I had to do was put the disk in when the computer was on, turn it off, change the startup sequence (to boot using disk), remove the old operating system using an option the disk gave me, and it did everything else on its own after I entered the security key. Now it works great!

Did not work with my system, but Best Buy let me return it!

I had a lap top with windows XP OS. Since Microsoft is no longer supporting XP and my lap top was incompatible with a windows 8 upgrade, I felt I had no other option except to purchase a new lap top. The only OS available was Windows 8, which I had upgraded to 8.1., At times it's a pain in the neck to navigate around to various programs probably because I am not yet a "cloud" jockey. Therefore, I chose the Lenovo desktop when I learned that Microsoft was now once again offering system 7 OS software to install.

I've been using Windows 7 now for a few years. Didn't think XP could be improved much, but must admit the boys in Redmond did a nice job with this.

This is actually an OEM version of Windows 7, a fact that is not made clear in the description. What that means is that it is not transferable to another PC. Also, if you need to replace your motherboard, you will need to buy another new copy of Windows 7. This one is intended for a single installation on a single PC. The primary product description is misleading by omitting the rather important fact that this is an OEM version. The 32-bit version is clearly labeled as OEM, but not this one. Buyer Beware.

I upgraded two media center PCs from Windows XP. I went with Win 7 over Win 8 because of Windows Media Center integration (Win 8 requires the pro version to get media center). Media Center is the most convenient means to watch Live TV coming from an HDHomerun tuner on a PC.

i order windows 7 for a new computer and i really like using windows 7 because it is very easy to use

Retail version allows you to have Microsoft support. BestBuy pic has a box with retail version. I called them and they confirmed it. It was not true! I received OEM version which DOES not provide Microsoft support. It is for PC builders. Add insult.. i have to pay shipping!!!

This is an OEM licensed product, the information is hidden at the bottom of the overview. The rest of the page makes it appear to a layperson, which you probably are, to be a retail copy, or FPP licensed.
