My fiancé also has really bad allergies, so I was hoping it would help alleviate those as well. After using these for numerous months, it doesn’t do the best job removing smoke smell, but that could be because I haven’t washed the carbon filters yet. It’s nice you can wash the filters to increase longevity. If they improve after washing the filter, I’ll update my reviews.

After researching all different brands, we decided that this Winix model was the best and got 2! Washable carbon filter is the added bonus and filters for this model are readily available from various online stores!!!! Also got the geek squad coverage and registration with Winix.

The only slight drawback is that, while all but one of the speeds is extremely quiet, the top speed sounds like an airplane taking off! Still love it though and got used to the sound quickly
