My Night Owl security system stopped working in June. As a Total Tech member, I called Best Buy for repairs. They charged me $130 for someone to come to my house to assess the equipment. The contractor came, plugged in the DVR and said it could not be powered up. I didn’t hear back from the contractor or Best Buy. Yesterday I went to the Chesterfield store and told a Geek Squad agent what had happened. The agent said there was nothing he could do for me in store as they were not equipped to deal with my equipment in store. He gave me the phone number to Geek Squad online support for home service. I called the online Geek Squad from my cell phone in the store. The online agent also said they could not send an agent to my house as it was a small piece of equipment, and I should bring it into the store. I got the instore agent to speak with the online agent and they both agreed there was nothing they could do for me. So, as a Total Tech member who had already shelled out $130, I was left with a dead security system which I paid over $900 to install in 2022 and I am now $130 out of pocket. I did not feel good at all about Best Buy, Total Tech, Geek Squad or their service. I am completely dissatisfied and disappointed.

The team mounted the Ring door bell; however it was not working properly but the agents put the blame on the Wi-Fi signal. When I pointed it out only they agreed it was a defect equipment.

agent did well but admitted it ws his first time to install these devices. It would have helped if he took a fe minutes to explain how to use the cameras. The lights work well. But cameras seem complicated.

Installer was very nice and knew what he was doing.

This has required multiple appointments and visits. And the tech has arrived to every visit without a ladder - had to borrow mine. The cameras were sent with dead batteries. This wasn't discovered until the first visit had to be rescheduled because of wet weather. Technician did not return when he promised. Apparently, he forgot. He never bothered to call. It took my response to a survey before it was rescheduled. One of the cameras that had not been operating since installation was found to be inoperable. So a replacement had to be ordered. The appointment was again rescheduled while I waited for the camera to arrive. The appointment was cancelled because all home visits have been discontinued.

Cameras mounted perfectly in all locations, glad to have used the squad!
