women of the world stand up!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As befitting the genre, Wonder Woman is heroic and spirited. The fighting sequences are spectacular, and the story is engrossing, uplifting and fun. There's even a bit of romance and humor amid all the action. "Wonder Woman" is a superhero movie, and it fulfills the heroic and mythic demands of that genre, but it's also an entry in the genre of wisdom literature that shares hard-won insights and long-pondered paradoxes of the past with a sincere intimacy.

At Last DC Hits Its Stride
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has taken some time for the DC film franchise to regain its footing after the completion of the excellent Christopher Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy, and after several missteps it seems that, with Wonder Woman, DC has regained its stride. This is a very well done film, striking a good balance between drama and comedy (something the Marvel franchise has done exceedingly well but which has eluded the DC until now) giving us a film that is not only fun, but also well thought out in its message. For me, the two best scenes are when Diana confronts the Generals at their conference, castigating them for their callous disregard of their soldiers and the costs those soldiers pay for their leader's mistakes. "Where I come from the Generals lead their soldiers on the battlefield, not sitting behind a desk." She is absolutely right and her speech garnered applause from the audience I saw the film with. This scene is followed, in short order, by one of Diana leading the way, by herself, into No Man's Land in an attempt to save a small village behind enemy lines. It is a well written scene, beautifully short and perfectly choreographed. This scene alone is worth the price of admission. The film looks great in HD on Blu-ray, and the sound is equally impressive. All in all this is an excellent film, well worth adding to your home video library.

Gal Gadot gives a powerfully sincere performance t
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Up to this point, I had watched all of the DCEU movies and have been entertained, but not particularly impressed. When I walked away from Batman V Superman, Wonder Woman was without a doubt the best part and I had hopes for her solo film. After Suicide Squad, my hopes were lessened, but still present. After seeing the film twice I can confidently say it is one of, if not the greatest super hero movies ever made. Wonder Woman is a very focused and purposeful superhero movie. There isn't a single scene that feels like filler and you can tell Patty Jenkins knows exactly what kind of story she wants to tell. The film balances action and adventure with social commentary very well and is almost flawlessly executed. The setting in 1918 puts us in a time when women were on the verge of revolution, and the presence of Diana clashing with patriarchal ideals is not only historically logical, but elevates the film to a modern allegory. It's one of those movies that follows superhero tropes and Joseph Campbell's heroes journey, but keep things fresh so it never once feels derivative. Gal Gadot is absolutely fantastic and gives one of most sincere superhero performances ever captured on film. She is able to communicate her characters thoughts and emotions without words, she has a powerful and commanding presence, she is elegant and intellectual, she is witty and clever. But at this point in her life she is also naive and does not understand the world as much as she thinks she does. You can see a clear distinction between the way she carries herself in Batman V Superman compared to Wonder Woman, further showcasing Gal Gadot's subtle and dedicated performance. In this movie, she is still relatively young and must learn a valuable lessons that mankind can be good and that evil does not come from only one source. A very powerful and inspiring message, especially in these troubled times. It was very smart to not cast an American actress or make Gal change her accent. She is a Greek Goddess and should not be a "girl next door" type. This is one of the most serendipitous casting decisions ever made, she was born to play Wonder Woman. I am not a big superhero fan, but the second time I saw this movie it effected me just like when I returned to see Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. I found myself tearing up during a few scenes because we have never seen a woman with this kind of power on film before. After her scene in No Man's Land, the audience in my theater clapped and then when the people in the movie clapped for her, the audience clapped AGAIN! Something that just doesn't happen at the movies anymore, unless it's a franchise with 40 years of films like Star Wars. This movie is exactly what modern audiences are looking for and it is 100% satisfying. Wonder Women will go down in history with The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 2 as one of the best and most culturally significant superhero movies ever. This is a game changer for the DCEU because they have now made a film better than EVERY MCU movie. The bar has been raised for all superhero studios.

GIRL POWER
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Two words: WONDER. WOMAN. One of my favorite superheroes of all time and as a girl, of course I had to support this movie. Although DC movies have been lacking compared to the Marvel franchise, this movie was pretty good. Had to grab one while it was on sale!

love the story
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved the battle, the love, the shelter of ones child. I loved the connection. I found that even with the changes that were made to this Wonder Woman, I still very much enjoyed the move. The actors did a fab job and the director was on it.

Steelbook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Already had the movie from its original release (and missed the very limited steelbook run of it), so picked this up when the steelbook re-release became available. This is a Wow of a movie, especially when most DC products have been lacking.

A Total Modern Day Classic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Man of Steel was okay, Batman v. Superman disappointed, Suicide Squad was a big pile of excrement, so looking forward to Wonder Woman didn't give me a ton of hope. Although there was a great director on board, and probably the best thing about BvS which was Gal Gadot, there were rumors that this was mess of a film, plagued with so many issues that made the film, and the entirety of the DCEU be on the verge of collapse. Of course, I always decide to see for myself, and on my birthday of 2017, my fiancee and I went and we're shocked by how great this film was. The story was well told, the acting superb, great, Oscar - worthy direction by Patty Jenkins, great camerawork and everything being top-notch throughout the film. Quality filmmaking of the highest order, so you bet I placed a pre-order on the 3D version the day of it going live! But, how does it stack up months after a theatrical showing? Starting off with PQ/AQ, let me just say this disc has some solid 3D within. This wasn't a native 3D shot film (Shot in 35mm film) nor was it planned with 3D in mind during shooting, but there are some nice effects. I couldn't recall too much pop-out, but there was some great depth in many scenes, and the disc carries over the same detailed and sharp picture the film was in theatre accurately, and it also carries over to the equally great 2D BluRay, as well. The audio on the 3D version is, sadly, only in 5.1 DTS-HD, but it delivers a great sound field of effects, music and ambiance. The 2D version (and the 4k) have the Dolby Amos setting, which is totally worth your time and no showing off your hardware to andndnybody you can find, it's that good! Extras are a tad disappointing to me, since it lacks a commentary or a P-in-P track, but what's included is fantastic. Starting off is a sole deleted scene followed by several extended scenes, along with a short film following Ms. Candy with a nice epilogue. Finishing off the set are multiple, making - of featurettes, ranging from Patty Jenkins' directorial process, to costumes, to pretty much anything in the film is covered. The set is topped off with a nice gag reel and a trailer for Justice League. Although there are no extras on the 3D disc (All of the extras are on the 2D disc), this Best Buy exclusive comes with a nice slipcover (A lenticular one would've been great, but no complaints here!) and a pack of some trading cards. Overall, this is a must own, with demo worthy PQ and AQ, some really good 3D, solid extras (A commentary and/or a full length making - of would've been great) and a nice exclusive from Best Buy, and couldn't be more recommended!

Gal Gadot IS Wonder Woman
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DC doesn’t have a very good record for picking characters but Gal Gadot really sells it. Very family friendly and with a great story line. I just hope they can keep the Superman and Aquaman characters before Marvel steals them away

Wonder-ful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie is the best DC has brought out since the release of Dark Knight. The 4K version steps up the quality in a significant manner. Several 4K films were upconverted, Wonder Woman is native and everything about it is beautiful.

Nearly perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wonder Woman set the bar for DC films by showing us what a fantastic and emotional superhero movie can actually be. Hopefully Warner Bros will learn their lesson that all DC movies don’t need to be gritty and dark to succeed. My only real complaint is the final battle against the big bad as it was obvious Snyder had more control over that part of the film and is completely tonally off from the rest of it.

Movie was good; description not so much
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, Wonder Woman is a very good movie. Great cast and a story that resonates with everyone. My only issue with this was the product description, which initially promised a DVD and digital copy of the film in addition to the Blu-ray. Of course, the description has now changed, but it was still disappointing to those who purchased this version based on the promises made in its description. Retailers can do better.

Best DC movie so far
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think this is the best DC movie so far! It was entertaining and not nearly as fawled as the others. The writing, directing, editing, and acting in my opinion are well done. It’s not perfect but was better than I expected.

Best DC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best DC movie by far, this movie is long like most DC movies but this one did not feel as if if was drawn out needlessly. The story was a main story was comic book hokey but the other story’s in the movie is what made the film

4k Wonder
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is easily my favorite of the DCEU Films, finally a film that gets a DC characterization right. It's also released in beautiful 4k and a Steelbook with a great yet simplistic cover art. A film I think everyone should own.

Good as the theater.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was such revolutionary movie when it hit the big screen. I love Chris Pine in all his movies and he was great. But Gal Gadot just made this movie pop. Great story line and keeps the WonderWoman mythology alive in a new way.
