I would give this a five star if it was done in 4K but the movie is a five star. One of my favorite zombie movies. Brad Pitt and the rest of the cast do a great job on this movie. I’m looking forward to the upgrade in the future. I wouldn’t have a problem buying it again when it’s released in 4K.

"World War Z", despite involving zombies, plays more to the likes of a disaster film instead of a zombie film. It's more of like "2012" than "Resident Evil". We see shots of cities tumbling down to the rule of zombies and the world slowly turns into a zombie wasteland. The zombie attacks are large-scale, grand, and extremely exciting, save for the climax which ends up as a small-scale sequence, but is equally satisfying. It's far from perfect, it's heavy on action sequences, and it's uneven, but "World War Z" is an extremely fun ride for everyone to enjoy

I manage to snag the final copy for pickup at my local Bestbuy store. For around $5, not only do you get a digital copy of the movie, but the Bluray version also includes the unrated version as well! Because I picked it up, there was no damage at the corners of the packaging, like you might get if it was shipped.

If you like zombie movies, this one may be for you. This movie is different than some earlier zombie movies because these zombies are fast movers. This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat, and causes you to think a bit. These zombies are not slow moving shamblers like some would expect, and this movie is not really a gore fest. That's nice for a change. Brad Pitt does a fine job in this movie. I only wish there was a part two!

Just my opinion, but yet another zombie movie. OK, granted it has Pitt and some interesting twists, and the zombie action is off the hook. The rapidity of the spread and the violence makes for great movie but you have to seriously suspend your belief. How is it different from the typical? It shows some of the basic methods in handling outbreaks (AKA Contagion which did a better job of that) and the pace is much more like recent The Walking Dead than the slow movement of older Z films. How is it the same? In everything else.

I bought this movie for my husband for Christmas since I heard it was good. I liked the beginning, getting to know the family and understanding of the situation. It was a bit 'silly' where the doctor shoots himself before he can even begin to find a cure. But of course, Brad Pitt comes to the rescue. Although they leave the ending uncertain (can easily make a second), you felt a sense of relief when he is reunited with the family. At the end of each movie, my family always rates the movie. This movie got a 7.25 out of 10.

Who knew that the best way to avoid a Zombie was *Spoiler Alert* to act sick; I was surprised to also hear that this had fast moving zombies, scaling the Great Walls of our world just to find some fresh flesh. And who would have thought that Brad Pitt was the one who would save the world from Zombies, Does Angelina Jolie know about this? Maybe that's why she married him?

This is a great movie and a different take on the zombie crazy going on right now, more in the vein of 28 Days Later. I was worried with all the reports of problems in getting this movie made but what ever they did it worked cause the movie has great pacing and a satisfying ending, although sometimes the characters are a bit unbelievably perfect in getting through. Though I guess that's why you watch an action movie like this and suspend belief. The extras were weak in this edition, but the price was right.

I read the book in anticipation for the movie and was hoping to see some of the scenarios that played out in the book. This movie definitely had some of the highlights of the books general experience, but strayed far away from what happened in the book. There were writer changes in the middle of the movie, and it sort of turned into an action thriller. I loved the movie, and it is set up for another round. Hopefully some of the stories get linked in during the rebuilding.

It never really seems to be on satellite or cable, unless it's on Sci Fi once a year. Finally found a copy on Blue Ray at Best Buy. now I can watch it anytime I want. The zombies in this movie are more of the 28 Days Later speedy variety, rather than the slow, ambling walker from TWD. I like both, but these are definitely a bit more scary - fast paced, and all around, great to watch!

Although 28 Days Later came before Dawn of the Dead (2004), I was introduced to the running zombie by the latter. This movie doesn't really go anywhere different with that concept except that it has a bigger budget and better acting. The movie seems to think it stands above (or at least apart) from the others with yet another flimsy method for defeating the undead. That they had to include that weak idea negatively effected the movie for me in what was otherwise a strong outing in the genre.

Finally, a movie that showcases and describes the power, lethality, and subterfuge of life on Earth. World War Z is entertaining with provisions that you take much on faith. The characters are believable, but unfortunately you are not provided with extensive background as to why they are ideally suited to face the threats and challenges presented to them. It's an ideal movie for a gloomy Saturday as the story engages and provides moments of happiness, danger, and hope.

Fun, exciting, tense, edge-of-your-chair-action and plot!!! As a reader of the book, the movie follows absolutely zero from the pages. This can be a big positive or negative depending on your allegiance. I actually enjoyed the fact that the movie decided to go a completely new direction. Those that have the opposite perspective may be disappointed. However, I feel they can make another movie with the book subject matter set in a not-so-distant future.

I did not read the book, so I will supply this review strictly as a movie. It was entertaining and had us going the whole way. To the point, that it could feel short. I felt the story was original and had a believable quality. I highly recommend it. The only short comings were not enough focus on the origin of the outbreak and focus on the end solution. However, I do recognize that the lack of these things sets the movie up for a sequel.

Pretty good zombie flick, with a touch of Hollywood flair..I'm not usually a fan of huge Hollywood blockbusters, but I'm a horror fanatic, so I figured I'd give it a try..The acting was great, and the cinematography was fantastic..Do yourself a favor and get the unrated version for a few more blood splatters!!..I opted for the steelbook version and it's awesome!!

Unlike the slow-moving undead of every other zombie movie, this movie is unique in that the zombies run fast. This bluray has the unrated and theatrical versions. The unrated version has additional footage that has added blood and gore but is very subtle, in that you're not going to see additional scenes that were cut out. Plus it has all the special features that Paramount wouldn't put on the DVD-only version.

I saw this movie in the theatre but not in 3D. I wanted to see it again so I bought the 3D version to watch at home. The beginning of the movie looks a little strange in 3D, but after the first few minutes it looked like a regular 3D movie. The "extras" sections were very good - they showed how they did the special effects and the science behind their creation of the zombie behavior, both things that I found very interesting.

This is cool movie to watch just for the action but it is very predictable. It was on sale so I got it

Best Buy usually has the best selection of movies, especially blu ray. The prices are usually the best too. This is a blu ray and DVD movie set which is great if you want or need to use both. I would highly recommend this for anyone who loves zombie movies.

I guess we can always make room for one more zombie. This one had a good premise and a couple of lame spots in it - not enough to hurt, though. A couple of the scenes were visually fun - no spoilers! I always wanted to see the 3D version and it did not disappoint.
