I bought this because my wife has an amazon shopping addiction, hoping it would help shred the boxes, making recycling easier. It requires some effort to cut, and the cardboard has to be braced. Dissapointed to say the least.

Bought for vinyl siding cutter. Works good but doesn't last long.

For the price I pay for is okay but doesn’t really cut fast the or thick boxes rather use a knife

Arrived in a generic brown box, not exactly gift quality packaging.. They probably work fine but they were a gift and they actually look repackaged. Really awful presentation , they are being returned today.

It's work great the very first time it was used but after that the sharpness went down quick and the battery doesn't last long

Works ok, this is nice for peope with arthritis. But the guard is not adjustable. This means yiu have to manuver to cut it.

Doesn’t work well at all. It will not start a cut. Very heavy and awkward to use. You must hold down safety button that is positioned sideways and at the same time pull the start trigger.

For some reason I find that I need scissors much more often than I realized. From some of the many packages that my family goes through, to cutting down vacuum seal bags for my food vacuum sealer. I also partake in several home DIY projects. I think that the ZipSnip scissors are the perfect fit for my day to day. Right out of the package I checked for a charge, and they powered right up. I did not have to charge it at first. In order to operate you must push in a safety lever and then pull the trigger. There is a odd shaped spinning wheel (not perfectly round) that actually cuts the object. I have had electric scissors before and they usually had the two blades of traditional scissors, so this was interesting to me. I immediately bagan to cut a cardboard box that I planned to recycle and it did so flawlessly. I also like the design of the scissors as they cut all the way across the object and don't get hung up. compared to regular scissors. By this I mean that the handle and your hand get in the way of longer cuts. The ZipSnip lets you push along with no issues. I then decided to charge the scissors with the included charger. It is an included charger that is somewhat proprietary, I would have preferred a type C charger but not a big deal. After charging completely I began to test this on anything I could. I tried different plastics and cardboards. It worked great. I did not attempt anything metal as I did not want to ruin the scissors and I don't think metal is an intended material to cut. Overall, I feel that the ZipSnip scissors are a necessity in any household. They are small and easy to use. They take a lot of effort out of any large cuts that you would use a traditional pair of scissors.

Simple and easy to use electric tool for cutting or opening items. It is simply a spinning circular disc to cut through paper, fabric, plastic, cardboard, and the like up to 1/4 of an inch. Charging is done with an included cable. A light on the end glows red while charging and green when done. The tool can be used in either hand with no issues. The is a safety button you press in from either side and then squeeze the trigger underneath to start the blade moving. So, left or right-handed use is not an issue. The grip has a good feel and will stay in your hand. The operation is simple, press the safety switch from either side and squeeze the trigger. The wheels spins at the same speed no matter the pressure on the trigger. I used it on paper, envelopes, cardboard and plastic with no issues. It cut right through and made things easier to open or cut up. From a letter opener to removing plastic coverings it cut through with ease. It was also good in maneuvering. Making circles or going in different directions was easy. I didn’t have any ¼ inch fabric, but with some thinner fabric was cut with ease. The blade is easy to remove. It says it is self sharpening. When a new blade is needed, they are cheap and with one screw easy to replace. Whether you need some help opening or cutting items or just want the convenience, this tool can be pretty handy. It weighs under a pound, and is easy to use. Fully charged it could last months depending on use per the manufacturer. Worx continues to make good cordless tools.

Our household gets tons and tons of packages. Seems like I am always cutting down boxes to put in the recycle bin. Yeah, I can just use a regular razor blade. But those are dangerous, and very easy to cut yourself with if you aren't careful. This little device takes the danger, and work out of cutting down boxes. It slices through most cardboard with ease. It can handle up to 1/4" thick cardboard. It will also cut through plastic and fabrics as well. I mainly use it for cardboard, but you know those sealed plastic packaging containers that are impossible to get into. This will slice through them with ease! It's rechargable so you never have to worry about changing batteries, and the rechargeable battery lasts for a long time! It is activated by pushing in the safety switch and then pulling the trigger. Then just guide it through whatever you are cutting. You have to use little to no effort. I like the safety switch too in case it gets in the wrong hands you know your kids won't get hurt. It also has a self sharpening blade wheel you you never have to worry about fumbling around with blades either. This is a no-brainier if you have lots of cardboard or packaging to cut through on a regular basis. The only thing I wish it had was a belt clip, or some way to hang it. Other than that, it's a great tool!

Defective, takes hours to charge and and drains the charge in a minutes.

If only it worked. Very frustrating to buy a product and find it is not working At all. This scissors would not charge. So i returned it. The additional problem is waiting for the refund. They tell me Two to three weeks.

I found the WORX-4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors useful. When I first saw it, I was concerned as to how heavy it would be. While it has a bit of weight, after using it I didn't notice a difference between it and my box cutter or my scissors so that isn't an issue. It was was easy to charge. I loved how quick and easy it is to cut up boxes. My recycling company requires cardboard to be cut into smaller pieces so I was pleased with how easily it cut through corrugated cardboard. Generally with my box cutter I have to concentrate so I don't cut towards myself. With with Electric Scissors, you automatically cut away from yourself so it is great for safety. I had no issues with anything that I tried cutting but it cardboard, paper or foam. There was no catching on the cardboard when I did not lie it on a flat surface. Other than very tiny print on the instructions for use, there were two issues I found. One was the lack of information on where to purchase a replacement cutting wheel. While the instructions on how to replace it are there, where to get the replacement is not. The second issue was, due to the guide, I could not cut through the tape holding boxes together as I couldn't get the guide under the tape to do so, there wasn't enough room when the tape did its job. So, I still needed either my box cutter or scissors as well. Overall, I'm very happy with these electric scissors and they have made cutting up boxes a breeze.

It didn't even work it was a waste of money not buying anything on line again

I plugged in to charged never worked very disappointed . Got it for my husband he said no thanks box cutter or knife works better but I will never know since it never worked

I never heard of an electric scissors before but the ZipSnip works great! Design It's very easy to hold and use. There's a safety button you press in from either side, making it ambidextrous. After you press in the safety there's a large trigger-like switch you squeeze to turn it on. It's a very comfortable fit in my hand. It has some weight to it but isn't bad, it weight less than a pound. The blade is not a circle but maybe an octagon. There's a guide to help lead the material up to the blade. Battery They claim a few months on a charge. I'm sure that could be very possible depending on how often you use it. The manual said 2-5 hours to charge it and it did take around 4 or 5 hours for it to charge the first time for me, and I haven't needed to charge it again. Cutting It cuts great, as it should. One think I wondered was if it would give a straight edge or not. It does, in fact much better than I expected. It cut through corrugated cardboard very easily and gave a very straight edge. I even tried on fabric and curving. I expected that to produce a frayed curve at least, but it didn't. The curve looked almost perfect and it was quick, by hand, without any guides or measuring. Paper is no problem and again, the edge is nice and smooth. I'm not sure if it's due to the octagonal design or not, but it does seem to pull the material you're cutting along though so that's very cool and helpful. If it isn't pulling it, the material isn't quite in the right position. It cuts great no matter what but in the right position it sort of pulls it. I used it on a lot of cardboard, a number of pieces of fabric. It's designed to cut many different materials including paper, plastic, fabric, and cardboard. It's also made to handle material up to 1/4 inch thick. It did great with thick cardboard. Summary The ZipSnip worked great for me! The results were better than I expected. I was most impressed with the smooth edge it gave me on cardboard and fabric (I expected a smooth edge on paper). This could be helpful for many projects or crafts around the home.

At first, the idea of these Worx ZipSnips electric scissors seemed a little silly to me - is there really a NEED for electric scissors that aren't designed for metal? Physical capabilities such as reduced hand strength aside, I was curious how much use I would get out of them. After a few days of experimenting at what they are best at, I can say that I will be using these a few times a week just for myself. One of my most dreaded household tasks is cutting up cardboard to fit more into my recycling bin, and the ZipSnips handle that task with ease. And in a household with a teacher, these could see almost nightly use when cutting up stacks of paper for worksheets and other activities. Especially for the dreaded stacks of laminated paper, these could be a huge benefit! The cuts the ZipSnips make are pretty clean with regular paper and it's easy to hold and use them without feeling like you might hurt yourself. It takes a little practice to get used to cutting a straight line especially with smaller stacks of paper, so give yourself a few practice runs before trying to cut anything important. I can't comment on the total battery life yet as I haven't drained it from the initial charge, but it's lasted through a couple nights of housework so I'm pretty happy with it. Overall, I give these two thumbs up.

The WORX 4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors are a great tool to have on hand. It has a safety switch which is easy to use and provides protection so that the scissors cannot accidentally be turned on. The trigger is easy to use to activate the cutting blade, and position on the scissors makes it easy to toggle the safety switch and activate the trigger with one hand. The handle is also textured. This makes it easy to hold on and doesn’t slip when in use. The blades are sharp and are self sharpening. There is also a blade guard that provides protection. The battery is sealed in the device and charges with an included adapter. I wish the charging were done over USB Type C, as to eliminate the need for another charger to keep track of. Charging was quick, though, and seems to last a long time. It is important to note that you should not push this tool beyond its capabilities. Use the right tool for the job. This works best for cutting thin to medium cardboard and plastics, but will struggle with thicker materials. If it isn’t cutting through the material, you should use another tool. This has worked great to dismantle cardboard boxes so that they fit in the recycling bin. It is also safer to use than using a razor blade knife. I also really enjoy using it to open clamshell type plastic packaging. It makes quick work of these tasks in a safe manner. This seems like a good value too, for tool that will get frequent use and should last a long time.

The Worx ZipSnip electric scissors are a nice tool to have around the house. It makes cutting straight lines super simple. When I cut wrapping paper with regular scissors, there is a technique to cut it without having to constantly open and close the scissors, but when doing this they will usually snag and rip the paper. With the ZipSnips, it was even easier to cut the straight line, and without any snags. It also worked great cutting cardboard and fabric. I haven't needed to use it enough to run the battery out, but I have used it a bit and haven't needed to recharge it since I first fully charged it. I can see lots of uses for the ZipSnips. My daughter used them the other day for a school project and she thought they were pretty neat. While regular scissors will most likely be easier for small projects or quick small cuts, I feel the ZipSnips would really shine if you have a lot of cutting to do. I could also see these electric scissors be good for people who have issues with their hands, like arthritis for example. The only issue I have with the ZipSnips is that the safety button is in an awkward position to press in order to press the power button. I do have large hands, so maybe it was made for people with smaller hands. Likes: 1.) Perfect cuts 2.) Fairly inexpensive Dislikes: 1.) The safety switch is awkward to press
