I never heard of an electric scissors before but the ZipSnip works great! Design It's very easy to hold and use. There's a safety button you press in from either side, making it ambidextrous. After you press in the safety there's a large trigger-like switch you squeeze to turn it on. It's a very comfortable fit in my hand. It has some weight to it but isn't bad, it weight less than a pound. The blade is not a circle but maybe an octagon. There's a guide to help lead the material up to the blade. Battery They claim a few months on a charge. I'm sure that could be very possible depending on how often you use it. The manual said 2-5 hours to charge it and it did take around 4 or 5 hours for it to charge the first time for me, and I haven't needed to charge it again. Cutting It cuts great, as it should. One think I wondered was if it would give a straight edge or not. It does, in fact much better than I expected. It cut through corrugated cardboard very easily and gave a very straight edge. I even tried on fabric and curving. I expected that to produce a frayed curve at least, but it didn't. The curve looked almost perfect and it was quick, by hand, without any guides or measuring. Paper is no problem and again, the edge is nice and smooth. I'm not sure if it's due to the octagonal design or not, but it does seem to pull the material you're cutting along though so that's very cool and helpful. If it isn't pulling it, the material isn't quite in the right position. It cuts great no matter what but in the right position it sort of pulls it. I used it on a lot of cardboard, a number of pieces of fabric. It's designed to cut many different materials including paper, plastic, fabric, and cardboard. It's also made to handle material up to 1/4 inch thick. It did great with thick cardboard. Summary The ZipSnip worked great for me! The results were better than I expected. I was most impressed with the smooth edge it gave me on cardboard and fabric (I expected a smooth edge on paper). This could be helpful for many projects or crafts around the home.

At first, the idea of these Worx ZipSnips electric scissors seemed a little silly to me - is there really a NEED for electric scissors that aren't designed for metal? Physical capabilities such as reduced hand strength aside, I was curious how much use I would get out of them. After a few days of experimenting at what they are best at, I can say that I will be using these a few times a week just for myself. One of my most dreaded household tasks is cutting up cardboard to fit more into my recycling bin, and the ZipSnips handle that task with ease. And in a household with a teacher, these could see almost nightly use when cutting up stacks of paper for worksheets and other activities. Especially for the dreaded stacks of laminated paper, these could be a huge benefit! The cuts the ZipSnips make are pretty clean with regular paper and it's easy to hold and use them without feeling like you might hurt yourself. It takes a little practice to get used to cutting a straight line especially with smaller stacks of paper, so give yourself a few practice runs before trying to cut anything important. I can't comment on the total battery life yet as I haven't drained it from the initial charge, but it's lasted through a couple nights of housework so I'm pretty happy with it. Overall, I give these two thumbs up.

    Versatile and Safe Cutting Tool

The WORX 4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors are a great tool to have on hand. It has a safety switch which is easy to use and provides protection so that the scissors cannot accidentally be turned on. The trigger is easy to use to activate the cutting blade, and position on the scissors makes it easy to toggle the safety switch and activate the trigger with one hand. The handle is also textured. This makes it easy to hold on and doesn’t slip when in use. The blades are sharp and are self sharpening. There is also a blade guard that provides protection. The battery is sealed in the device and charges with an included adapter. I wish the charging were done over USB Type C, as to eliminate the need for another charger to keep track of. Charging was quick, though, and seems to last a long time. It is important to note that you should not push this tool beyond its capabilities. Use the right tool for the job. This works best for cutting thin to medium cardboard and plastics, but will struggle with thicker materials. If it isn’t cutting through the material, you should use another tool. This has worked great to dismantle cardboard boxes so that they fit in the recycling bin. It is also safer to use than using a razor blade knife. I also really enjoy using it to open clamshell type plastic packaging. It makes quick work of these tasks in a safe manner. This seems like a good value too, for tool that will get frequent use and should last a long time.

    Quick straight cuts

The Worx ZipSnip electric scissors are a nice tool to have around the house. It makes cutting straight lines super simple. When I cut wrapping paper with regular scissors, there is a technique to cut it without having to constantly open and close the scissors, but when doing this they will usually snag and rip the paper. With the ZipSnips, it was even easier to cut the straight line, and without any snags. It also worked great cutting cardboard and fabric. I haven't needed to use it enough to run the battery out, but I have used it a bit and haven't needed to recharge it since I first fully charged it. I can see lots of uses for the ZipSnips. My daughter used them the other day for a school project and she thought they were pretty neat. While regular scissors will most likely be easier for small projects or quick small cuts, I feel the ZipSnips would really shine if you have a lot of cutting to do. I could also see these electric scissors be good for people who have issues with their hands, like arthritis for example. The only issue I have with the ZipSnips is that the safety button is in an awkward position to press in order to press the power button. I do have large hands, so maybe it was made for people with smaller hands. Likes: 1.) Perfect cuts 2.) Fairly inexpensive Dislikes: 1.) The safety switch is awkward to press

I never imagined how wonderful it would be having electric scissors. One can wonder why they would own a pair of electric scissors, but I have to say that it has made cutting things up so much easier. This is especially true when you have to cut something up with your personal information. As someone who constantly works on cars, it has also come in handy when working on running air lines. The other day, I was working on installing an air ride system, which involves cutting hard plastic air lines. Well, the WORX electric scissors made the job so much easier and cleaner. The cuts were perfect on the air lines. To my surprise, there were no air leaks after using the WORX electric scissors. If you work on things likes this, you know how much can go wrong when using razor blades. It is so easy to make an uneven cut. The WORX electric scissors is a great tool to have around the house. I find myself constantly using it throughout the day. If you are asking yourself if you really need a pair of electric scissors...you do! They are so convenient to have. The charge lasts a few good uses and it really doesn't take long to charge. I would highly recommend the WORX electric scissors to anyone.

I wasn't sure I was going to need an electric scissors but now I'm really glad I have this. I do a lot of DIY projects around our home. I'm constantly spending time working at the tool bench fussing with things that need to be built or fixed. The WORX 4V Cordless Electric Scissors is proving to be a very versatile tool on my toolbench. Some of the demos for this product illustrate how easy it is to cut through cardboard but I have a utility knife for that task. What I find it useful for is the ability to cut through leather, fabric and even things like wrapping paper cleanly and efficiently. Since it's cordless, I can keep it on the shelf near my workbench and grab it when I need to snip something off or trim something to provide a finished look. The thickness limit is 1/4" so it's not a cutting tool for tile or other hard materials. My wife saw me using it yesterday and now I have to share it with her since she is finding uses for it as well. I've seen examples of electric scissors going back 10 or 20 years ago. This is basically the same concept but the big difference is that it is cordless with a lithium battery that can last for several hours.

I love these Cordless Electric Scissors; I wish I had learned about these earlier because they are very darn handy when you need to cut something up and not over stress your hands. It is a simple device, just line up and let it do the work of cutting. I the fact it is a Push in Button on the side before you can depress the cutting button is great means you can accidently start it up without meaning too. From the cutting side, it rips through those impossible to open plastic clamshells with ease, at least much easier than using regular scissors. The scissors have an exceptionally good battery and holds the charge well. That means you can get a lot of work out of it without needing to constantly charge. Using these is great, you need to cut something odd shaped, boxes these are for you, more importantly if you have a large length of fabric, wrapping paper or other things, this will handle it and make easy work. I know my wife used them the other day for a crafting project she had and was happy she didn't tire her hands out with Scissors. I love these these things and couldn't be happier with them. Highly recommended

OMG...life saver. Ya know those theft proof packages that only a thief can open while in the store? Well, now they are easy to open at home!!! I live in a house with arthritic hands and kids hands that cannot see to do (supposedly) simple things like open packages. This tool has made things so much easier!!! Amazing how well and fast it can break down cardboard (we recycle) and that was always left to me because cutting, even with a a razor knife, can be hard on the hands (and dangerous). My sister now whips through things instead of calling for me or just leaving it. My nephew is trying to make a cat tank out of cardboard and he is using this tool. It is not looking like a cardboard cat tank... Anyway, there are things we want to try it on, like bushes and chicken wire for other crafts. My sister tried it on denim and said it worked great. I would highly recommend this for any person or even a business that does a lot of cutting and wants to take the pressure off their hands.

I never even knew electric scissors existed until I got this product and now that I've been using them for a few days, I can't believe how easy it makes many cutting chores. The main use case most will find is to break down cardboard boxes, it handles these with ease, but it also works on fabric and plastic too, especially that annoying plastic packaging used for many products. Other design highlights that make this a pleasure to use are a relatively fast recharge time of 5 hours for months of operation. Also not having to replace batteries is nice. The blade is self-sharpening, so should last a good long while. A safety switch ensures that you won't accidentally cut yourself. The scissors are light and comfortable to hold so you can cut for a long time if you need too without hand or wrist fatigue. Cuts are very clean as well, so would work well for paper/fabric projects, maybe even gift wrapping. Overall, a very useful and versatile product that does well in the garage, for crafting, etc...

I have never used electric scissors and was very interested to see how these work. So far, I have been very impressed at what these scissors can do. First, the battery life is amazing. An initial charge could last several months (I have not had them nearly that long) but have not have any issues with power. The power of the scissors is very good as well. These are not your typical scissors. They will cut paper but the real power comes from cutting through items like cardboard, carpet and plastic. I have tried all three and all were handled easily with these scissors. The cutting depth is about 1/4 inch so it handles pretty sturdy materials. Of the three, carpet was the biggest challenge but i found it easier than a manual blade. For safety, it does have a safety button that needs to be pressed before pressing the handle trigger. However, the front of the blade is open so I would allow kids to use it. Overall I am very satisfied with this device and would recommend it for anyone.

When I chose the WORX - 4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors, I thought I would have something similar to a mini- circular saw type device. I was partially correct, because the WORX - 4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors cuts a perfect one-hundred eighty degree straight line angle, through various types of material having the thickness of basic notebook paper up to the thickness of cardboard. Where I felt a bit disappointed was with the rpm’s. I thought the WORX - 4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors would have a little bit of power similar to a baby circular saw, but I was mistaken. It goes slow and steady, producing a razor sharp cut and having a guard edge keeps the blade secure and perfectly flat on the cutting surface. Also, the guard edge provides a safety mechanism to prevent a horrible accident from happening by becoming cut. I was able to easily cut paper of various types and cut some cardboard boxes down. It is not great at trying to cut in a curve direction, though it can be done somewhat. The WORX - 4V ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors helps me cut up my recyclable papers and cardboard boxes in a quicker time than it previously did using scissors and a box cutter.

The WORX ZipSnip is a 4V lithium ion cordless cutting tool marketed as electric scissors. They get the job done like scissors but in a different way. To me, this is an interesting name choice as technically two blades need a pivot point to be called scissors. When competing against scissors, there is a case for fatigue and cramping, but a box cutter does the job just as well. This is more of a 10-sided rotary cutter or circular saw for lightweight materials like fabric, paper, plastic, etc. Your tool arrives in a box already fully assembled. Just take it out of the box, plug it in, charge it completely for 3-5 hours or until the red light turns green, and squeeze the trigger to set it into place. Once the trigger clicks into place, you can use it and you will hear it turn on. The cutter works as it should. The blade is extremely sharp and has 10 sides to aid in cutting instead of a pizza cutter blade. The edges are like tiny knives, and they cut quickly through anything you can think of regarding packaging. I tested on plastic clamshell cases and cardboard with ease. I did test cuts on rugs, cloth, leather, paper, and linoleum without fail. The motor was strong enough to cut and never stopped or died like I was expecting with thicker materials. The GRIPZONE is comfortable and the ambidextrous safety is useful. The quality of the cut is accurate and clean! There are no jagged tears or rips in your material cut. My Thoughts for Improvement: +Blade lock - we need a way to stop the blade from spinning to change it. You need to put your finger on the blade to stop it. Not too safe in my opinion. +Battery gauge - some sort of battery gauge or warning light to blink when getting low. +Extra blade - an extra blade would be helpful. +Blade change - the process to change the blade is dangerous. There is too much finger involvement with no safety. The guard needs to be able to move out of the way to make the blade change easier. +Variable speed - trigger control varying by trigger pressure would be nice to slow and start cuts. In short, if you are looking for a fast self-fed cutting tool for breaking down boxes or just a cutting tool that will not damage the contents like a box cutter this is for you.

for many of us, cutting up cardboard to get into the packages we buy, or, cutting down large boxes to recycle has always been troublesome; box cutters, razor blades, weird slicing tools, all of those things can help, but most are dangerous, and, as you get older and have arthritic fingers or hands, it gets painful after awhile Enter the WORX Zip Snip Cordless electric scissors to the rescue! I wiah this thing would have come across to me earlier, as it would have saved countless hours of painful cardboard box trimming, and, as an added bonus, it opens up those hard sealed plastic package that need a saw or hammer to open! cuts through that hard plastic like a hot knife through butter, and, has built in safety features that ensure that when used properly, you dont have to worry about hurting yourself. It doesn't slice the tape off of boxes, so you still need some sort of blade like tool to slice the tape open, but after that, this guy will slice the box up into small pieces that fit nicely into your recycle can. If you cut up lots of cardboard, or open alot of those horrible hard plastic packages, this tool will quickly become one of your favorites...Highly Recommended!

    Worx - A Cut Above

I've never owned a cutting tool like this Worx ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors. But I'm always on the lookout for a safe, simple-to-use, tool that can get the job done where basic household scissors cannot. After trying these Worx scissors I believe I've found one that does just that. For one thing, their price is just right. For another, these scissors have several features which make them a great choice for the 'do-it-yourselfer', hobbyist, crafter, or just as another handy tool in your toolbox. First, there's the safety factor. These scissors have a blade guard which immediately made me feel better about using them. I take safety seriously when using any cutting tool, as one should. Worx thought of this when designing these scissors. Next, there's the self-sharpening blade. This is a really good feature. Even though the instructions explain how to remove the blade, not having to do so in order to sharpen the blade, is a definite plus to me. Besides intending to use these Worx ZipSnip Cordless Electric Scissors around the house for safely and quickly cutting through wrapping paper and fabrics for my crafting, I also wanted to be able to more easily cut up cardboard shipping boxes to put in the recycling bin. And these scissors work great for that chore! Now, there is one feature that I believe to be somewhat less than ideal. And that is the safety switch. You need to slide it to the side and then squeeze the trigger to make the scissors work. I found this to be a bit clunky, and made holding onto the scissors slightly clumsy. But after a while I got the hang of it. I just think maybe a different type of safety switch might worx better.
