Incredible Picture, Easy Setup, Perfect Bedroom TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m extremely impressed with this Hisense 50” QD7 Mini-LED Fire TV. For the price, the picture quality is outstanding — bright, sharp, and colorful with excellent contrast thanks to the Mini-LED and QLED technology. HDR content looks fantastic, and even standard cable and streaming content looks noticeably better than expected. Setup was incredibly easy. From unboxing to watching TV took very little time, and the Fire TV interface is smooth, fast, and intuitive. I really appreciate having Fire TV built in — everything is in one place with no extra devices needed. One of my favorite features is how well this works with DIRECTV. I’m able to use the DIRECTV app directly on the TV, which means no cable box at all. Fewer wires, a cleaner setup, and one less remote — that alone is a huge win. This TV is the perfect size for a bedroom. It’s large enough to feel immersive but not overwhelming, and it fits beautifully in the space. The sound is surprisingly good for built-in speakers, and the remote is simple and responsive. Overall, this TV punches way above its weight. Between the Mini-LED picture quality, Fire TV integration, easy setup, and cable-box-free DIRECTV streaming, this is an incredible value. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality bedroom or secondary TV — or honestly even a main TV for many people.

Hisense - 50" Class QD7 Series QLED 4K UHD review
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hisense 50" Class QD7 Series MiniLED QLED Smart Fire TV does everything we expected of it: Good, bright picture quality--a big improvement over our old TV set. If there's a downside, it is the Amazon Fire TV user interface, which, for an older couple like us who are first-time smart TV users, is less than intuitive and is challenging to navigate. The modest price ($299.99) at Best Buy was a big plus.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replace a 6 year old Hisense tv for this one and its much more brighter, clearer and smoother of a picture. The upscaling is solid too. I notice the difference in everything I watch. Sound quality is A1. Perfect tv for the bedroom.

Decent TV, for 2 mos. Support: prompt & bizarre
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the only Hisense product I've ever bought, & it will most likely be the last. This was a decent TV (Hisense 59" QD7), with good brightness & contrast, plus pretty good backlight zones. But a permanent red like appeared almost exactly 2 months after purchase. Hisense warranty was quick to respond, but the process is...ridiculous. After sending in pictures & info, they determined the display was defective & arranged for a technician to come to the house. But not to fix the TV. No, to "proceed with a process called Tech Direct Panel Destroy process. A technician will be coming out to scratch the panel on your TV and remove any leftover parts." Also, they said that I would "be responsible for discarding the remaining unit according to your state guidelines. ... Thank you and have a great day." That's exactly what was done. Screen scratched with big Xs & circuit boards removed to go back to Hisense. (Don't blame the technician, that's what Hisense pays him to do.) Then they followed up to say they don't have any of this TV in stock (although BestBuy does), so I would get a refund. Will they also pay the fee for disposing of this e-waste? How, in 2025, do companies get away with not even trying to repair, then dumping cleanup responsibilities on customers for their products with their defects? Sure, I could buy another from BestBuy, but why? Clearly this TV has at least one flaw & the company doesn't seem too interested in reducing e-waste, or even taking full responsibility for their defective products. It took me a lot of research to find a 50" TV for the pre-existing built-in in our new living room that wasn't cheaply made (dim, poor picture) or unbelievably expensive. (Online info, a mess of spotty & contradictory information, even at the manufacturer's site, didn't make it easy.) This was the only one I found that hit the sweet spot. There are many 55". But none of those will fit in the built-in. So, no, I don't recommend this TV, or even this brand, with this type of support. I appreciate the prompt replies from Hisense support, although the different messages via text & email conflicted with each other. But now I have to start all over, & probably will have to spend much more for a different brand paying for more crap features I will not use (ahem, AI, phone app requirements, etc.) just to get a good quality picture. It could have been worse, but this is definitely not how to win friends & influence people. Too bad other TV makers are horrid as well (I'm looking at you, Samsung, for pushing firmware updates that force ads on TVs (and refrigerators!) after they were bought (!), & giving customers no choice & no recompense. What added value are you adding AFTER THE SALE!? I've bought lots of Samsung devices, but not with this anti-customer attitude.) It sucks to have to pick the least of all evils. Can't one of you manufacturers go against this trend & treat customers, & the planet, with some respect?

A luxury SUV disguised as a sensible sedan
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's be honest, you're not buying a Hisense because you want to brag about the brand name at your next cocktail party. You're buying it because you're smart, savvy, and know a good deal when you see one. And the Hisense 50" Class QD7 is a really good deal, like finding a designer handbag for the price of a fanny pack. This TV is rocking Mini-LED and QLED tech, which essentially means it's got a gazillion tiny little lights making the picture pop like a bag of microwave popcorn on overdrive. The colors are vibrant enough to make a rainbow look dull, and the blacks are so deep you might lose your remote in them. It's even surprisingly bright, so if your living room doubles as a sunroom, you won't be squinting at shadowy figures in Game of Thrones. In fact, it excels in bright rooms. Now, it’s not perfect. It’s got that Fire TV OS built-in, which means you’ll be talking to Alexa more than your significant other. And while the sound is okay, it's not going to win any awards, unless the award is "Surprisingly Not Terrible for a Budget TV". You'll probably want to add a soundbar to properly experience that Dolby Atmos magic. Also, the viewing angles are a bit like a clingy friend: best viewed head-on. But seriously, for the price, this TV is punching way above its weight class. You're getting features found on TVs costing hundreds, if not thousands, more. It's like buying a steak dinner for the price of a fancy burger, according to HomeTheaterReview. So if you're looking for a TV that delivers fantastic picture quality, smooth gaming, and won't require you to sell a kidney, the Hisense QD7 is a worthy contender. Just don’t tell your friends how little you paid, they might get jealous.

Great Picture!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently picked up the Hisense QD7 (model #50QD7QF), and I have to say, I’m genuinely impressed. The first thing that stood out was the crisp contrast and deep, vibrant colors—a real step up from what I was used to. The enhanced brightness makes everything pop, whether I’m watching a movie or gaming. Speaking of gaming, this TV absolutely shines there too. The picture is sharp and responsive, making fast-paced gameplay look smooth and incredibly detailed. The sound quality is also solid, which surprised me for a TV in this range—no immediate need for a soundbar. It’s running Google TV OS, which is super intuitive and makes it easy to find all my favorite streaming apps quickly. Plus, the inclusion of voice control and Alexa support is a great touch for convenience. For context, I’ve used TCL Roku TVs for years, and while they’ve served me well, I honestly prefer the picture quality on this Hisense. It’s richer, more dynamic, and just feels like a premium experience. Overall, this is a fantastic TV for the price—especially if you're into gaming or want a vibrant, bright screen with modern smart features.

Easy to use, great quality picture and sound!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After having 2 Hisense TVs already, I purchased a third, the 50” QD7 series and love everything about it. The TV was packed very well and even though the box (from shipping company) had some dings, the TV was perfectly safe with how it is packed. Placing the legs and connecting cables was very quick and easy. On-screen setup was straightforward and love the customization with Fire TV. You can go full experience or just display minimal apps that you use. Once I got it on, the image quality was incredible with great color and contrast. The menu system with the remote was intuitive. One thing that surprised me most was the sound….best sounding TV out of the box that I have ever had. Will enjoy watching movies and sports on this TV.

Excellent picture, but not compatible with Onkyo
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow!! Was very surprised at the quality and bright colors of the picture. Motion across the screen seemed flawless, crisp sharp edges with great contrast. Setup was probably the easiest I've ever experienced with a smart TV. I only ran into problems. When I tried to hook up my Onkyo receiver. I ran through every conceivable problem that I could see, researching it Intensely on Google. The TV either had a bad Arc HDMI or The receiver couldn't get a proper handshake from the TV. I tried variations of different settings and even bought expensive new HDMI cables to make sure I covered all bases. After speaking to a salesman and bringing the TV back into the store, I decided to exchange it for a different brand, TCL. The salesman had never heard of an incompatibility issue between Onkyo and Hisense. The new TV worked flawlessly with my receiver, but the picture was definitely better on the Hisense. I would recommend this product, it had all the things I was looking for in a TV- qled, micro LED and zone dimming.

Hisense 50" television review
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had planned on purchasing a different 50" television, but when I saw the picture on this one I opted to spend the additional money to get it. The setup was straight forward, just like any other FireTV and the remote works like other FireTVs. In fact, I have a smaller set under this 50" and they both worked off the remote. I had to unplug the smaller set.

Impressive Picture Quality and Value
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hisense continues to impress me. This is my third Hisense TV, and each one has delivered excellent picture quality for the price. The colors are vibrant, the image is sharp, and the Mini-LED backlighting provides great brightness and contrast. Movies, sports, and streaming content all look fantastic in 4K. Setup was quick and easy, and the Fire TV interface is simple to use. The TV feels well-built, and the overall performance has exceeded my expectations. It’s hard to find this level of picture quality and features at this price point. Very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Needs better QA - HDMI defect
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I'm impressed with the display quality. I'm disappointed in the fact HDMI4 won't function correctly. I chose this model over some others to get 4 hdmi ports, but since I'm using a soundbar, I essentially only have two usable hdmi ports. Very disappointed but at this price, I guess you can't expect great quality. Also not a fan of the FireTV interface and OS software. I sent an email to HIsense support and got no response back, but after reading some details about other support experiences, sounds like that would be worse than trying to return it to best buy. I can't recommend it since it definitely has a quality defect, but I'm not sure if I really want to deal with returning it yet.
