This isn't the Phoenix I grew up with reading the X Men comics. In fact, this might be the worst movie of the series. Alas, collecting the new steel books and I was a fan of the art on the cover so I had to pick it up.

this isn't as good as the original x-men and i like the recent remakes better. still the dark phoenix is a classic story arch in the comic book world and its was a good effort. i really like the steelbook.

This is probably the least liked X-Men movies of the original trilogy but I'm a little more lenient. Not great, but wasn't terrible either.

Love the casing. Prob one of the weaker entries in the series but I like the steelbook collection they have come out with for this!

Worst movie in the Franchise...until Origins...

With several deviations from the comic book canon in the plot and a noticeable shift from the character development that took place in the first two X-Men films toward a faster-paced, more action-oriented, and choppier film, this film got mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. Even directors of other movies in the franchise, Brian Singer and Matthew Vaughn, as well as the movie's own script writer, Simon Kinberg, criticized the movie for treating the Dark Phoenix story arch too superficially in a melange of characters and scenes that was either packed with too much material or lacking adequate length to present properly. Having gotten that off my chest, I still like this film, and even Ebert and Roeper gave it two thumbs up. If you check your expectations for a canon portrayal of the X-Men at the door, and enjoy a good action-packed comic book movie, then this is a fun choice! My brother--a complete novice in comic book lore--saw this movie for the first time in 2017 and really liked it. For those who continue to harp on the fact that it isn't as good as X-Men and X-Men United, I direct them to the next installation--X-Men Origins--to see what an actual terrible movie with no redeeming qualities looks like.

Jean's woeful reborn storyline is X-Men's fatal flaw. Sloppy writing. When reaching the point when Jean's miraculous survival from the impact of the water needs to be explained by some brainy scientist (in this case Xavier), he simply offers the explanation: "Her powers wrapped her in a cocoon of telekinetic energy." Poor Famke Janssen gets to inhabit a truly badly-written character as The Last Stand plays on, and she plays it badly too. Most of the film she is not really doing anything, but stands aside looking imposing while the other characters remark how superhuman she is and how powerful she has become. When she finally does get to shine, she does not really shine at all but her scene becomes completely over-the-top and desensitizes you to the action.

I liked this movie but I hate the way Xavier and Cyclops were used. I liked that it was a continuation of x men1 and 2 but just didn't do those movies justice. I am a huge Xmen fan so I am torn between loving seeing them on the screen and way they were used. I think if Bryan Singer hadn't jumped ship to do Superman Returns and done X3 instead it would have been better. Overall though I liked the movie, it's not a great continuation of the previous but it was a decent/good continuation of the series.

X-Men The Last Stand looks great on blu-ray & I'm glad that they redesigned the artwork on the box. That being said, if you want to see a better X-Men movie, watch the first two, or First Class, or The Wolverine. This movie is better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine. For it's run time, it felt as if filmmakers were rushed to fit in one too many plots. But, it's worth owning because it sets up the events in the vastly superior film The Wolverine.

I do not like this movie at all. It's awful in my opinion. Definitely the worst of the X-Men and X-Men affiliated movies. I only bought it because I own all of the others on blu ray with the collectable steelbook case, and I have a thing about having COMPLETE collections. Haha That being said it is cool as far as collectable cases go, thus the 3 star rating instead of 1 star.

Never Good, but Better Now that Future Past is Out

Days of Future Past is about undoing what happens in this movie; in other words, making sure it doesn't exist. Yep, it's the weakest entry in the series proper, but it does continue several threads, and provides most of Wolverine's motivation for his solo adventures and the rest of the series up to Days. Flawed, but still essential for those who want the whole stories.

"X-Men: The Last Stand" was where director Bryan Singer left to go and direct "Superman Returns". This movie, in my opinion, not as great as the previous two. I actually really loath this movie, but there are others out there who may actually like it. This movie does have it's moments though, but the negatives out weigh the positive.

first things first, I own it on DVD and now on Blu-ray after paying to see its in theaters. However that doesn't mean its the greatest Xmen to get. Story is out of place compared to the others, the studios rushed this one to keep the hype going and the film makers tried their best to fulfill the studios demands

This is a great option if you just want the movie and a HD digital copy. It doesn’t include the second disc despite what the back cover says, so it loses a star for that, but I already knew that when I bought it. The slipcover is different art than the actual case, so that’s a bonus.

On the whole, this is probably the worst X-men movie to date (an exception could be made for X-Men Origins: Wolverine). That having been said - it still had a steelbook release - collectors, time to dole out the bucks!

This movie is not the best of the X-men franchise but it has it's interesting scenes. There is certainly many cheesy scenes as well, and many parts that don't even make sense. Yet, if you're an x-men fan, you might as well watch it.
