A decent X-men movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved the AOA comic storyline, so I was very excited for this movie, after seeing the excellent job with the Days of Future Past adaption. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations; they just altered and changed too much, and the story seemed to happen very quickly in a matter of hours. I enjoyed this movie, but didn't considered it a true AOA film, or meeting the standards set by DOFP. I would still recommend this film to others.

A Fun movie night
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoyed this movie. I had heard bad reviews in the past, but in general, I thought it was enjoyable and did a good job of tying in the X-men from the comics when I was growing up with the reboot. I would recommend it. Especially if your a fan of 3D titles like myself. I just wish the studios would release more titles for us...preferably in a 4K, blu-ray, blu-ray 3d, and dvd packaging. One package to rule them all.

Pretty decent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's not the best movie but it's decent. I originally gave it four stars but I can only remember bits and pieces of it.

Decent Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think I enjoyed this movie the most because of the cast. Great leading roles and supporting roles from some of the most outstanding talent that movies have to offer. Michael Fassbender is one of the best actors of this generation and plays the role of Magneto beautifully. Oscar Issac is a great up and coming actor and plays the role of Apocalypse really well. Not the best X-Men movie in the world but still pretty amazing. Worth a watch!

3D is Awesome, I Don't Care What Anybody Says
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have all the latest tech gear, including a 4K OLED TV and 4K UHD Blu Ray player. And I'd still rather watch a movie in 3D than in 4K if given the option. I can't believe some newer TV's don't include 3D capability. And I can't believe they released 4K Blu Ray without 4K 3D as an option. The movie itself was just okay. Not that superhero movies necessarily need to be free of ridiculous premises, but Apocalypse was way too powerful to need to recruit help in his plot to take over the world.

Not as apocalyptic as I thought it would be
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I actually enjoyed the movie. Yes, I would watch it again and for that reason, I am glad that I purchased it. Not to mention the really cool steelcase that it was packaged in. If you are a fan of action and won't get upset if the movie deviates from the comics original source material, you will enjoy the film. Not the Apocalypse that I dreamed of seeing on the big screen, but also not as disappointing as I imagined he would be.

Okay sequel!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I watched this movie right after seeing X-Men: Days of Future Past and was not ever-whelmed. With that said I was not overly disappointed. I would have liked to have seen more development of some of the characters which happened in the previous movie. I had no problem following along with the story which is always a plus in my book.

Like it more than I expected.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will admit at first when I saw pics I wasn't a big fan of the look for this steelbook. After seeing better pics and then eventually seeing it in person I came away loving the look of this steelbook, especially the front. The interior I haven't been the biggest fan of, but yet I like it as it fits with the theme. Overall this is steelbook wasn't something I was expecting, but in the end I really really like it and am happy I bought it.

Awesome A/V Quality for Good Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm going to start with the audio and video quality because if you're buying this movie, you either like it already or simply want to buy it. I'm not going to describe the movie itself. The A/V quality is excellent, especially with a home theater system. The movie makes good use of the audio and video. The extras are the same on the regular Blu-ray version. The steelbook version is a bonus although there is no new content (thankfully).

Almost Too Complex A Thread
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Weaving the old and the new story lines together is a tough job for movie makers and it can be a struggle for old story fans to accept (and like) the new characters (I'm not a comic fan). Nevertheless, although I thought the middle a bit long/slow, this is a good expansion for the series, leaving lots of room for more story development. The 3D was average, although I thought the general shot scenes were excellent and color was vivid.

I loved the movie, 3D quality was good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this movie. I know it didn't get a lot of love from fans of the comic series. But since I don't know the comic series as well as others, I enjoyed everything about it. The 3D was pretty good in my opinion. I watched it using my old PS3 on a new OLED 55 inch curved tv that uses the same 3D capabilities as movie theaters. I still think the best 3D movies are movies that are only computer graphic movies like How to Train Your Dragon. But Apocalypse wasn't bad for a 3D movie that wasn't all CG.

Great but not the greatest!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a huge fan of the X-men franchise I could not wait to see this film. Though it was great with action and stunning visuals, the story seems to be getting more and more complicated within the Marvel Universe. You might find yourself trying to figure out where everything fits in from the past films and where it's possibly going. I like to think and be challenged, but I like to enjoy what's going on within the current movie as well.

Disappointing X-men movie
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the weakest of the Bryan Singer-directed X-men movies, but I got it to complete my X-men 4K collection.

Another great one!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although the beginning was a little long and perhaps stretched out, the movie overall introduces a lot of great characters. Although, yet again, things are completely out of sync (Ex: Angel) when compared to the original movies when the X-men are older, it's quickly overlooked. The ending is especially great. Filled with great effects, surprises, and unexpected fight sequences, it's sure to please most if not all fans of the X-men.

I enjoyed it...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Some people have been down on the X-Men franchise for awhile now. The flicks always turn a reliable profit and are always entertaining - albeit, some more than others. If you include Deadpool in the count, then there'll be the 10th one out this year w/Logan. They cannot all be "the best". Having said that, I like this one quite a bit. It was definitely better than ALL of the 1st trilogy and necessary for my collection! &;-} -]

Best movie about the X-MEN future in recent past
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Exactly what you would expect from an X-MEN movie. I liked it better than Future-Past, because it doesn't try to outsmart itself. ...Future-Past wasted screen time trying to fix all the plot holes and continuity problems in the X-MEN franchise by incorporating an EXCESSIVE amount of time travel. Which was...unfulfilling.

Great moments, typical ending
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the newer X-Men series (First Class and Days of Future Past), and, like those, this one has some great moments in it. But the overall story arc has become a bit too typical for superhero movies - the uber-powerful bad guy gets over-powered in the big finale. Still - great introductions to some of the X-Men we've known, but haven't made an appearance in this series, plus super-awesome Silver Streak scene. Two thumbs up!

Superhero Burnout...?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I missed this film in theaters but picked up a copy on Blu-ray when it was on sale at a very sharp price. On our Sony 65" 4K monitor this film looked great and the sound was excellent -- so no complaints about the technical aspects of the disc. These are solid. However... The film itself was a bit of a disappointment and I will readily admit that this may be due to 'Super Hero Burnout" more than any intrinsic problem with the film itself. I actually thought the cast very good and have enjoyed these actors in any number of other films, but here, the story did not engage me and it was downhill from there. The film does boast strong production values but the story simply did not work for me. IF you are a fan of the X-men or enjoyed this film in the theatre then this disc is a good purchase for you. On a good HD monitor it will look great. On there other hand, if you are only marginally interested then wait until this disc goes on sale. For $10 you are spending the same as you would for a matinee ticket to the cinema and in that case you will not think yourself ill used if the film is a disappointment. I will recommend this - with the caveat that this is a film for fans more than the casual viewer.

Apocalypse!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been of fan of the X-Men since the Animated series back in the 90s. I also enjoyed the X-Men Evolution animated series. Watching Apocalypse on the big screen was amazing to me. I enjoyed this move even though there are others that complain that it is not following the comic version. I recommend you give this movie a chance you might enjoy it. Have an open mind and don't anchor the story to the comics. The animated series told their own story, let the live action films do the same.
