An exciting and amazing "X-Men" film.

I think that "X-Men: Apocalypse" was once again one of the greatest "X-Men" films of all-time and was also one of my favorite films of all-time. I've enjoyed and was a fan of all the films that were a part of the second "X-Men" trilogy that began with "X-Men: First Class" and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" that provided a creative and original insight that helped explore and establish the entire history and mythology of the "X-Men" including the films of the first "X-Men" trilogy and the unrated extended version of "The Wolverine". I also think that this film had a lot of entertaining and enjoyable action, mystery, suspense and drama including a really great and amazing cast and personal storylines as well.

A Great Installment In The Series, But Not Perfect

I was a big fan of the Last X-Men, Days of Future Past; so I was excited to see if the follow up could match that level of quality. X-Men: Apocalypse is a solid film that sets up the potential for a range of X-Men stories to be told on screen and it has plenty of enjoyable 80s nostalgia, yet it doesn't move at the seamless pace of DOFP. I would recommend it for anyone who knows the films and never read the books or any X-Men comic reader who has accepted that the movies will never match the stories in the books. And for that latter group, the closing scene (not the after credits one) is worth the build up.

If you're a fan of the Xmen series, you should like this one a lot. Like all Xmen movies, it's not perfect but easy to overlook unless you're nitpicking. Brian Singer really knows how to make Xmen movies. It's sad that this is his last one as everyone else has messed up their Xmen movies. This is a good movie for the family as it repeated has the family togetherness theme to it. This combo comes with the Blu-ray, DVD, and digital version. In my opinion, all movies should come with all 3 as the costs are only a few cents for each one. Most of the money goes towards the production of the movie.

    Yet another X-Men Film

I've been a comic book geek for over 50 years and I have seen pretty much every superhero movie ever made (no matter how obscure). After so many X-Men movies, it gets hard to differentiate one from the other. There are so many characters with their own sub plots that it's almost impossible to keep them all straight. I liked X-Men Apocalypse when I saw it in the theatre and wanted to add it to my collection. When I watched it again, I picked up on many points that I had forgotten since I saw it initially. It's a good film and I can't wait to see what they do for the next one.

A different kind of X Men

I saw this in the theatre and liked it well enough but not as much as I'd hoped. However, I like to collect movies and since I had all of the previous in the X Men series, I purchased this one. I was surprised how much more I enjoyed it as I was able to catch more of the intricacies. So, now I'm glad I bought it and it changed my opinion to the good. Sometimes in the theatre, everything just happens so fast. Buy it. If you haven't seen it, watch twice, you won't regret it!

The disc looks great, no question. The movie itself is a mixed bag, so your mileage may vary. The cast is great within the context of the material they have to work with, but Fox has consistently dropped the ball with Marvel's mutant universe since the beginning. There are some great set pieces in this film, and director Bryan Singer does a good job visually with a flawed story. This story sets up an interesting new direction for the franchise, but I don't have high hopes for future films to be more than serviceable ways to pass the time, rather than transcend the genre.

One of the best X Men movies

This has to be, or at least in my opinion, one of the best X Men movies to date. The action was packed, the acting was stellar and the effects were awesome! It was also filmed in 4K, so on 4K Blu Ray you are getting a really good 4K HDR picture. I really wanted it in 3D, however they didn't include that format with the 4K bundle and I wasn't about to spend another $20+ just to watch it in 3D. That's the also the downside of technology moving forward, and studios wanting to get the most money possible. Instead of charging more for a 4K Blu Ray 3D bundle, they can sell them all separately. Anyways, the movie was great and is most definitely worth the watch.

Although this film in my opinion is not as strong as days of future past, I have to admit that it was still a thoroughly entertaining film. The story was exciting, the action was what you would expect from a summer blockbuster. The performances from all of the actors was terrific. The only criticism I have is that of the villain. I felt that Apocalypse was somewhat underwhelming. Overall though, it was a terrific film. The picture and sound are outstanding and the supplements are quite substantial. This would make a great addition to anyone's steelbook collection.

McAvoy, Fassbender, and Lawrence continue to grow into their roles. Oscar Isaac is a suitably menacing Apocalypse, in a well- paced popcorn chewing special effects fest. While it doesn't have the depth of Marvel Studios films, it's a must see for fans. I hope that Fox is willing to go back to some of the older source material, and feature menaces like the Brood, Arcade, the Hellfire Club, the Morlocks, and other worthy adversaries from the Claremont/Cockrum/Byrne era, as well as featuring more of the Xmen and their allies such as the Shi'ar, Banshee, Gambit and Cable.

I fantastic attempt on bringing one of comics favorite superhero teams to odds with one its iconic villains fell a little short of the goal imo. But it was still fun!

Saw this movie in the theater during it's theatrical run, and it didn't exactly blow me away. However..as is the case with LOTS of movies, this film is significantly better at home on a good home theater. The 2D version is among the best looking blu-rays I've seen in recent memory..and the 3D version is great, as well. The film wasn't shot in 3D, but the conversion is excellent with great depth and a few cool "pop-out" effects. The DTS MA 7.1 Soundtrack is a beast. GREAT surround effects fill the room from every speaker and the track has huge amounts of wall-shaking bass. Fans of the film will be very happy when purchasing this blu-ray release.

First off, Casting on a few characters seemed odd. I remember Apocalypse being a bigger stronger buffer dude. Also note that the four hoursemen were different than the books. With that said, this film truly entertains. Its an interesting twist to the iconic characters that change the very fabric of the Marvel Universe. Leave your comic X-Men at home, this is fresh new and overall unique compared to the rest of the franchise films. No spoilers here. You must give this movie a chance. 3d version in the collectable steelbook would have been extremely better.

There have been a lot of mixed reviews based on the comic and movie Fandom for the X-men movies. I read a lot of X-men comics in my life, I watched a lot of the cartoons for X-men and I have seen all of the X-men movies. This review is based loosely on the comics, primarily off of the story line we have seen currently in the movies. I feel this was a great addition to the X-men stories currently on film. I think this movie sets up several follow up X-men movies. I loved the Apocalypse story lines in the comics, and this has a few similarities made in the film. Overall, I really liked this movie and think it is worth watching multiple times.

i didn't enjoy this one as much as i enjoyed days of a future past but still is not to far to be closed as good. it was slower and maybe a little to long. i kind of hated the quicksilver scene since i believe they tried to hard to make it as impressive as the one in the previous one, but overall solid film with a great final battle and surprise, and it felt good watching the whole xmen squad even if they were the young versions. for this one you definitely have to get the 4K if you already own the technology since it was actually filmed with this technology

Three great heroes in one movie. Sounds great. Well.... yes, to an extent. Cavill does a decent job as Superman and Gal Gadot, for the few minutes she appears in the movie, seems fine for the part. Ben Affleck surprised me: when I heard he was chosen for the part, I thought he wouldn't do for it but he plays a darn good Bruce Wayne. The movie is ok as far as the story goes: the script jumbles too many separated Batman stories into one. Special effects are good. Lex Luthor behaved more like Joker's nephew than a "proper" Luthor. In the end, I enjoyed it.

As anyone who's watched all of these films will say, there have been ups and downs in terms of quality. To break it down: Pros: Entertaining, anything with Quicksilver in the scene, spectacle Cons: Very under-developed villain in Apocalypse, missed opportunities with the Xavier/Magneto friendship and Magneto himself, several characters that are a big deal in the comics shortchanged in terms of character development No film is perfect, and while this one doesn't come close it is still a very entertaining 2 or so hours and well worth checking out.

Enjoyable X-men movie. I was still reading X-men comics when they first did the story with Apocalypse and The Horsemen. It was a great series. The movie didn't have the time to get that broad in scope, but it was a fun movie to watch. The relationship between Magneto and Xavier is pretty cool. Seeing a younger version of Jean Grey and Scott Summers was nice. Of course, Weapon X stole the show for his brief appearance. Glad I bought it; I will definitely watch it again over the years. Only gave it 4 stars because there wasn't more of Weapon X in it.

This movie was the X-men movie I had been waiting for. It featured my favorite line up of characters and the villian was a great test for the heroes. I was especially happy that the movie did not center on Wolverine, although he's a favorite character of mine. It was nice to see others get the spotlight for a change. Although I have not yet watched the special features, I can say that skimming through the menu that there are ones that I'm very excited to view. This movie was the culmination of everything going on in the X-men universe, and if it were the finale (which I hope it is not) then they certainly didn't pull any punches.

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto, to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven with the help of Professor X must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

I admit I am not a comic book fan so I do not know the story line or history of the comics. I enjoyed the movie but I had to have my nephew - the comic book guru- explain the characters to me. Aftwerwards, I watched it again and now I get it. So, if you want to watch, check out the character story line before. Also, I purchase the Blu-Ray because I enjoy the extra features and behind the scenes production stuff. The extra features in this Blu ray were mindless and just silly interviews that I can get online without having to pay extra for them.
