    4K At Its Best

This X Men movie is a great addition to the growing library of Marvel comic movies, and with 4K it makes this movie a must have. Now I know what the reviews said, "This movie is nowhere near as good as the first Xmen movies or even Xmen:Days of Futures Past". Yea, but is the movie entertaining enough to watch and to own. My answer to that is absolutely. Let the critics nitpick, but when you watch this movie I am sure you will be entertained, especially if it is on a great 4K tv with HDR.

Loved the movie for what it was. I'll forever and always have a bias against these movies because I want Fox to have mercy on fans and sell their movie rights back to Marvel and Disney and start the slate clean for the X-verse and do things properly. The list is far too long of what fans see that they've screwed up with to post here. But for what IT was, they did good. Visually it was beautiful, the story was done well. It was worth the buy. I think we fans just treat it like a non-fan movie in some aspects... just to keep from clawing our hair out...

Movie gives great back stories to characters when they were young. Reveals how the main characters we know actually became X-Men. The way some characters meet in this movie do conflict with the original first 2 x-men movies which I thought was kind of weird. Thats why it loses one star. Overall the movie is solid with action and adventure. The 3D visuals are nice with good depth and adds an extra feel to being cought up in the Marvel Universe. Great addition to movie collection.

Marvel is infuriating! This movie helps , but it's like , back when I spent 10 cents on a comic book , if I missed one , I wasn't suddenly lost . With the movies by Marvel, you've got to be a TV fanatic to keep up. And , everything changes , so all I can do is hope. I read recently that 3D is now dead. Hate that. I think 3D is Great . Wish it was passive , so no glasses. I also read that passive is now possible , so I hope the critics are wrong. The movie itself is very good, if you like this genre. Amazing what special effects can do now.

Critics piled on X-Men: Apocalypse as if it was the worst movie ever made. It's not. In fact, it's pretty good. I will admit that they could have done a better job with the look of Apocalypse, but that doesn't impact the story really. The film does a decent job of introducing the replacements for the original trilogy's characters and essentially completes the transition to the "First Class" bunch, setting up the future of the franchise. Check it out and judge for yourself.

Love this movie, but it was still really hard to top Days of Future Past. Apocalypse the mutant comes off as a god...till he doesn't get his way, then you can really see this guy had practically NO parenting - since he probably killed them when he got his powers at the age of 10. Either way, the story is pretty good, the visuals FANTASTIC, and a few supersizes that you'll love along the way. I still find it a shame the "Mall Sequence" got cut - check the deleted scenes!

Hopefully 3D for home use continues (Blu-ray’s, t.v.’s, players, etc). They finally got it right to where it is not just a fad or poor effort (like the blue and red cardboard glasses of old). Being able to watch a quality 3D movie in the comfort of your home whenever you want is better than any 4K advancements. At a certain point, our eyes will not be able to tell the difference between 12k and 20k. But our eyes and senses can enjoy movies in 3D.

OK. When the first 2 X-Men movies came out at the turn of the millennium, I was amazed. Even though I HATED the premise of the first movie (what the main enemy's evil plot was...don't want to spoil anything for anyone who might not have seen it), seeing the comic book characters I'd grown to love come to life was just awesome! Since then, though, every X-Men movie has sadly been a major disappointment. Every one of them. ALL! The ONLY redeeming grace these movies have AT ALL in my opinion have been to see characters I hadn't seen in the other movies yet as 'real life' characters. it seems Marvel and Disney can't make up their minds how any of the characters are supposed to exist when or how. Frustrating. Quit it. Quit changing the origin of every single character in every movie. ARGH! Having said that, the movie on Blu-Ray is done really well. It's a great transfer right up until the end where the good guys face off against the bad guys in a desert-like area. That's the only spot I felt didn't look right, and it took me out of the movie to some extent. If you like the X-Men movies, you'll enjoy the adventure. You'll just have to accept this as a completely different concept from any other previous X-Men movie (in the same way that all the previous movies have been different concepts from the others, with the exception of the first two...).

Introducing a New team of X-Men...some we haven't seen for a long time. The world is different than what we know; Mutants are sort of accepted. Cameo of Wolverine that kind of ties all the X-Movies together which helps make the past, present and future of these movies more fluid hopefully giving fans of the comic books and fans in general a much needed break from 50 plus years of continuity and a fresh way of looking at the characters and going along for the ride.

I came into this movie with some hesitation as I am a comic book fan, with Apocalypse being one of my favorite villains. I thought that he was portrayed really well in terms of his motivation and level of power compared to the other characters. I also thought the movie did well with including a number of small individual stories, without the focus being on one character. This was one of my favorite x-men movies from the pacing, action scenes, to the introduction of new characters.

Saw X-Men Apocalypse. It was a great movie for further developing the characters from X-men First Class and Days of Futures Past. That being said, the new main villain is poorly developed and hollow. Special effects were great and some origin for major characters from the franchise. A fun surprise visit from everyone's favorite X-men character. I would strongly recommend this for X-Men fans, but would not recommend it for those who are not into the franchise.

If you have a moderate knowledge of the comic books, you'll probably enjoy it. Otherwise, I could see some people being confused about who some characters are and why they are doing certain things. There are a ton of characters packed into this film and unfortunately not all of them get their moment to shine (Jubilee didn't really get to do anything except take a car ride to the mall). Otherwise, this was another great film in the X-Men: First Class series.

This is a nice addition to the X-Men. They really didn't do a good job with the X-Men movies. Unlike the Avengers movies which follows a time line, the X-Men don't seem to do that. This is a good movies anyway!! Of Course, I have it in 3D!!!!!!! DON'T STREAM! You are giving the industry way too much power on what you watch. You are dependent on someone elses server! If they don't want you to see it anymore, they take it off their server...and it's gone! Support DVD/Blu-Ray and 3D!!! Don't let them take it away!!!

This is a pretty decent 3rd installment of the "new" Xmen storyline (though they linked the 2 casts and stories in Days of Future Past). The characters play their roles well and I really liked Quicksilver in this film (and Days of Future Past) much more than I ever cared for him in the comics. It was a great price and getting the Steelbook version was icing on the cake. I really enjoy the look and style of the steelbooks. All in all and good buy

This is a fairly good movie with good action and decent characters. Some of the bigger characters could have been in the movie more but it makes sense as it goes thru from start to finish. This movie also introduces a lot of new characters (which could also be a downfall as the cast is huge) but it sort of passes the torch to the newer characters that could be developed in the future. Overall, its a good movie to watch if you are a fan of the series.

This review is long overdue, but I remember waiting for this to come out in the cinemas and thought the movie was underwhelming. That brings us to today. So why would I pick this up? Well, it looks and sounds great so why not. The HDR is amazing and the atmos is great as well. It is still a fun movie and is a great pickup for 4k enthusiasts..

Wasn't sure what to expect from this film based on the trailer, but this movie is the best of the Xmen movies released so far. Some great actors in this film and for die hard Xmen fans, many characters have been slightly revised to provide a more traditional character approach. Apocalypse is definitely portrayed as a god and the Xmen must band together to do what they do. The 3D is fantastic and the movie quality is the best. Recommend this film to anyone who likes the Xmen or superhero movies in general.

The 1st part was visually stimulating. The scenes, cinematography were great. Almost perfect. I think apocalypse's look was the only downside of this film. Also, his powerset was not explained. He just kept on using different powers. I love the fight scenes and the way it escalated to almost the last scenes. The film was really action packed, so much destruction happened. Made me wonder, where were the avengers or shield during the apocalypse?

    Comics vs. Movies

You have to keep your super heroes separated. So if you're a fan of the comics and/or the movies then that's probably why you're reading this review. Movies are usually less layered or as complex as the comics that they're based on and so those differences aside, the reboot of these movies is only logical. Actors get older and move onto other projects, and this is just a neat way they did this for the X-Men (see Days Future Past and First Class).

A decent addition to the X-Men franchise. Ignore the timeline issues amongst the characters and the movies which drive my sons crazy, and it is a well paced movie that integrates and re-integrates a number of popular mutants into one story. As for the packaging, I always order the steelbooks when available. Makes them feel more collectable than the ordinary, especially as it seems to make less sense to buy a movie rather than stream it anymore.
