The movie is terrible. As reviews suggest, it is probably the worst X-Men movie ever. What a shame because the Phoenix story line is great in the comics. Will hope for a better reboot!

It’s movie is really bad. Only purchase just to have all super hero films. Simon Kinberg needed more films under his belt before he did this one.

By far the most boring of all of the X-Men movies. Even with a star studded cast this movie is unwatchable.

A solo villainess film for The XMU finale....

    Posted .

The 11th XMU film, the 4th of 'The X-Men Beginnings Quadrilogy'. The 6th solo film (albeit w/ a team dynamic like 'Deadpool 2'). Yes, a solo villainess X-Men Universe film, on paper & in name only albeit, the team is there but is split Civil War style, as Jean Grey AKA Phoenix AKA Dark Phoenix, is simultaneously a protagonist & antogonist character, as we follow her throughout making for a slippery dynamic that works well enough for a would-be spin-off film that the official title of 'Dark Phoenix' technically implies, but is not coherent enough for what should be an Infinity War level event film for what is the 1st true cinematic universe. The film doesn't know it's identity really, as the home release slaps "X-Men" on the cover watering down the solo aspect for the casual fans which is fine for you guys but annoying for us nerds. Strange right? Only Wolverine & Deadpool have had solo movies in this universe up until now w/ Dark Phoenix. Dark Phoenix is the 1st female led XMU movie as well as the 1st villain led XMU film (Deadpool isn't a villain), & is obviously the 1st to do both w/ a female villainess, my only problem is Vuk murking the waters of character roles at first but by the end Jessica Chastain's Vuk can easily be placed in the mastermind role as the events of the film would more or less ocurr w/o her, Vuk gives the film more purpose is all. The movie is called "Dark Phoenix" not "Vuk" but writers can be wierd making you question such things on purpose or not. I do hope this 114 min film gets an Extended Cut someday. It is too short. Much too short needing about 30 more minutes to do The Dark Phoenix Saga justice. I see it so easily but casual moviegoers made Producers think shorter is better, prove that is not the case in the future. This is a good movie worthy of your collection if not for quality then for it's sheer noteworthiness. The last X-Men movie as we know them. Look forward to the FINAL XMU film Summer 2020: The New Mutants. Rounding out a universe with a new generation. Maybe showing support for this universes true final hurrah will make a 'Dark Phoenix (Extended Cut)' possible. Enjoy your day & movies. The 11th XMU film features the following: [X-MEN] - Professor X - Mystique - Cyclops - Nightcrawler - Storm - Quicksilver (student of Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters cameo - Dazzler) [THE BROTHERHOOD OF MUTANTS] - Magneto - Beast - Red Lotus - Selene * SPOILER ALERT* * note Beast switches sides midway through

What a let down to allow some half wit to direct or writers to do a bad job with such a great character. The whole thing felt and looked cheap in some areas, like clothing and makeup, but lavish with the action sequences and fights. How can such a great story be told or dragged into an avg film. I blame everyone at the studio. Do we need to start letting unknown fanfiction writers or more women to direct/writ the script of a mega marvel film!!

    The worst Fox Marvel Movie

    Posted .

This was not a good note for the regular X-Men movies to go out on for Fox the story is weak and it's hard to care about anything that's happening on screen. I've seen what are considered to be some of the worst Fox Marvel films (Elektra, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer) and somehow this managed to be be even worse than those by a country mile. I've been able to draw at least some enjoyment from all the X-Men movies even the universally panned X-Men The Last Stand but this was a struggle to finish. Save your time, save your money, read a book, go online, go outside, watch paint dry, do anything but watch this.
