    Unexpected Greatness

As let down as I was by all the previous X-Men movies, I was doubtful of this one, but I love the X-Men so I decided to give this a shot. I was not expecting it to be so amazing. I loved it, start to finish. Yes, changes were made from the original comics, but they were good changes that kept with the vibe of the X-Men. This is why the Avengers and Guardians movies did well: they made proper changes to fit it into a movie format without sacrificing story or character, and that's just what X-Men: Days of Future Past does. I highly recommend this movie to fans and newcomers alike.

Since I already own the regular version of the movie, I was debating back and forth whether if I really need to get another version. After checking out some of the reviews online, I decided to jump on it and guess what. It's well worth it. The addition scenes were a welcome bonus and this really should have been the theatrical version. Not to mention the package is great too. I've watched a lot of re-releases, director's cuts, and unrated versions of films, but this is the first one that elevates the pictures to something much better. It is definitely worth the purchase.

    Great movie, excellent bundle

The movie is great. Very entertaining and even though it gets a few facts 'wrong' when tying up to the older movies, it does try to make it right by using time travel as an excuse to re-do the whole thing. As for the bundle, the 3D version is quite nice, but so is having the digital download available. The only problem is (and they don't tell you this until after you redeem the code) that you can only redeem the code ONCE. That means that if you redeemed for Google Play, the code will no longer work for Vudu or iTunes and viceversa, so pick your service correctly the first time around.

The direct sequel to First Class, while not as great, is still a great addition to the X-Men films. Love the performances all around, with Peter Dinklage standing out. The Sentinel storyline raises the stakes for the X-Men, and keeps things fast-paced and exciting. This film can actually be viewed without seeing First Class beforehand, without being confused. Any Marvel fan should enjoy this immensely. The Rogue Cut is particularly interesting as it adds all the scenes with Rogue back into the film. I opted for the Rogue Cut and am happy with that choice.

I'm never sure if people are looking for a straight up review of the movie or if it is worthy of a 3D price tag so I'll try to help with both. The quality of the 3D aspects of this movie are awesome. The depth and quality of backgrounds (which is usually lacking in 3D movies) were great and the action scenes were phenomenal. Overall I thought the movie was trying too hard and there was too much to follow. If you are a fan of the genre it isn't as difficult but the fast pace makes it hard to truly develop characters that are new and this movie just felt rushed. Even with that being said the movie was great. They could have made a 2 part movie with the amount of stuff they packed in but just like Avengers, there is a continuum that makes it unnecessary. I recommend buying the movie and watching it twice.

The X-Men film franchise appeared to be dead until the surprisingly good "First Class" was released and reignited interest. This film continues the story started in its predecessor but manages to feel like a new story. As it is set in the 1970's it often feels like a period movie but it also jumps to the future to tie together a larger narrative. In a market flooded with superhero movies "Days of Future Past" manages to feel a bit different thanks to its historical setting and focus on superheroes as potential social outcasts rather than lauded champions.

Days of Future Past is one of the top-tier X-Men films in my book, coming in only behind Logan. This film does a comendable job of trying to connect both the original trilogy and the First Class cast into one film. Even though this is the film that really screwed up the timelines, and makes it hard to watch the X-Men films in anything other than the release order, it still comes through with solid acting and a decent script. The action set-pieces are great and everything seems to click.

Xmen Days of Future Past is an exceptional super-hero action adventure film. Top notch special effects, great cast and excellent work from director Brian Singer combine for the perfect storm of what a "comic book" film should be. The movie relies a little too much on Wolverine but with a great actor like Hugh Jackman in the role, who can complain. The movie gets a little confusing at times and too many characters get shorted on screen time (Storm)--but all the fan favorites are there. Don't want to give too much away, but lets just saqy I can't wait for the next installment.

All right, let the arguments begin. I personally have been reading comics for a very very very long time. Having said that I understand how hard it can be to take something off those pages and make a live action movie of it. This movie takes the whole series and ties it together and even more so brings it back on track with my child hood memories. I like... no I love this movie. Agree or disagree it matters not, I left this movie thinking yes sir I am feeling good. Bring on some more of these, oh by the way must watch gag reel. Nice to know these talented people have fun.

    Best of Both X Worlds

The "X-Men Days of Future Past" movie was great. It was pleasing that there were scenes with our beloved original cast members along with an action packed story that focuses on some of the new, "rebooted" X-Men. Of course, Hugh Jackman gets to be in the entire movie (future and past) and Jennifer Lawrence is given a good deal of screen time too -- argueably the two most popular actors of the lot (there is definitely a significant amount of other star power on hand as well). It was also fun to see "Game of Thrones" star Peter Dinklage as the enemy threat to the X-Men.

Classic Comic Tale, brought to the Small Screen

This is a classic X-Men Storyline. It is a delightful reinterpretation of the classic Sentinels tale. If you like action it's got it. The opening story line breaks out some of the most awesome visual effects in cinema. And if that's not enough, the "Time in the Bottle" Sequence will wow. The only thing to gripe about, really, is that there are large continuity snarls with what came before. But some of what came before was not great cinema anyways, so why not ignore the bad bits and go with it? Best Buy had a good deal on it, and I felt like I got my money's worth.

For the franchise, it is one of the better films of the series, and the twist of combing the cast from both time periods worked much better than I expected. Well worth adding to the movie library. While short of demo quality audio (MA 7.1) and video, they are excellent on both accounts. You feel fully submersed in the movie with the rich video and well implemented surround sound. Extras (all in HD) are also nicely packaged: gag reel, galleries, deleted scenes, and a number of featurettes. Although I didn't test it, there is a second screen app for iOS and Androids.

OBVIOUSLY WE KNOW WHAT THE BEST PART OF THE MOVIE WAS. QUICKSILVER EXCEEDED ANY OF OUR EXPECTATIONS AND JUST MADE THE MOVIE REALLY FUNNY. EVAN PETERS, I FIRST THINK I CAUGHT IN THE MOVIE NEVER BACK DOWN, THE MMA TEEN MOVIE. HE WAS NOT A MAIN CHARACTER BUT STOOD OUT TO ME. THEN WHEN HE PREMIERED IN THE AMERICAN HORROR STORY SEASON ONE I KNEW HE WAS SOMETHING SPECIAL. I REALLY WISH THESE FILMS HAD MORE TIME TO EXPOSE SOME OF THE OTHER MARVEL CHARACTERS BUT SOME ARE SO COMPLEX WITHOUT A BACKGROUND STORY IF MIGHT FEEL PUSHED. THIS MOVIE IS WORTH OWNING ON BLU RAY.

Great movie, but poor dvd release

I would give this five stars but the DVD release of X-Men Days of Future Past is severely lacking and with no combo pack option (which seem to be disappearing all together) the DVD basically only gets a short gag reel. I of course will pick up the Blu-Ray release at a later date, but advise those with a blu-ray player and spend the extra $2 this first week and go for the blu-ray no matter what. Again very good film and at the top if not my favorite of the whole X-Men franchise. Solid acting, great story that has references and lot of thing true to the comics and animated series, while also giving us a new story and connecting the two distinctly different franchise together very smoothly and gives the X-Men universe a great overhaul that leaves us wanting more from both casts.

    Great, But...

It's still my least favorite of the franchise. Generally speaking, I'm much more of a DC franchise person than a Marvel franchise person; the DC movies are darker and have a moodier feel than their often slapstick counterparts. X-Men is an exception to that rule. Living in a world torn apart by social issues and forced to choose between existing with or fighting the non-evolved humans on the planet, the director does a good job of balancing the options of the plot and making sure nothing seems out of place. While this movie does follow the comics fairly well it comes across as a bit more of a graphic novel interpretation than the others in the series. This serves to make it a bit less accessible to the general audience.

Wow. After The Wolverine, the franchise needed a movie like this. As a movie, it's a solid, well made adventure with great ties to previous X-films and shouldn't be missed by fans. As a disc, it's also good. The bonus features, while not as meaty as the extensive extras from the original trilogy, are decent. The deleted scenes are a nice treat as is Singer's commentary for them. The interviews are somewhat informative and entertaining. The only real complaint is the lack of any sort of commentary. Singer's commentaries on the first two X-Men films are solid. They give a nice glimpse into the world of film making and the choices the creative team made. There's nothing like that here. That'd be nice to hear about. Still, it's an enjoyable release for a solid film.

While the new/changed scenes, particularly those involving Rogue, did not add a great deal to the story, the new special features were greatly appreciated, including an hour-long documentary and a separate commentary track for the theatrical and the Rogue Cut movies. If you haven't yet picked up Days of Future Past, definitely pick up this version. If you've already bought the original (or the 3-D version, which sadly is not an option for the Rogue Cut), and you're wild about special features, this is probably still worth a double-dip.

I loved this movie from the first time I saw it. I was a bit reluctant about buying this version because I didn't really believe anything too significant would be added to warrant a new purchase. The addition of Rouge's scenes are great, but some of the other additions just seem to slow the narrative down a bit. A few extra lines were added for characters like Bishop, Sunfire, and Warpath but they're not all that important. You can definitely tell that the CGI used on the extra scenes isn't on par with the rest of the film and can be a little distracting. All-in-all it's still the same, fantastic movie released the first time around with some tweaks. That said, I would only recommend this version if you don't already own the original release.

X-Men Days of Future past is a return to what made this series great in the first place due to the focused direction and talented cast. The special effects are dazzling, and the action sequences are thrilling. More importantly, the movie focuses on the X-Men team both in the future and past (and not just on Wolverine), and provides a great back story on some of our favorite characters within the sci-fi genre. I highly recommend this movie to both comic book fans and anyone else who simply wants to enjoy a good story with compelling characters.

I am a Xmen fan both of the comic books and of the previous films. I really enjoyed this story. The Blu Ray looks great and some good extras with it too. Since I have read the comic book this was based on I know they changed some things but that doesn't bother me. Some comic book officianados may disagree. If you haven't read the comic book or somehow haven't seen the previous number of movies then I'd say it may be difficult to get up to speed on things but you would still get the movie. I recommend seeing the other movies first though! Buy it!
