An even better version of an already great movie

It took me a few viewings to finally appreciate how good this movie was, and after seeing the new "Rogue Cut," like it more and more. Almost every new addition addresses some of the issues of the theatrical version (more room for the story to breathe, instead of rushing through major plot points, more of a connection to "First Class," and way more screen time for Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, amongst things). But you also get the original version, and a great 50-minute documentary on the making of the film. Highly recommended.

I have watched this X-men movie 3 times now and enjoy it every single time. I use a Samsung TV and Blu Ray upscaling along to 4K player and Samsung 3-D glasses. The visuals and sound is just stunning and breathtaking. Marvel has done an amazing job continuing this awesome series. The acting and action in the movie is everything g you expect from marvel. The ending and epic battle scenes will get your heart pounding. So grab you popcorn and kick up your feet and enjoy this movie. It is also priced very well.

The film itself is solid however this suffers from what a lot of early 4K releases struggled with: up scaling. For the most part the film is very sharp but compare this to Sam Raimi’s Spider Man that was shot on film and there is a huge difference in sharpness and clarity. Understand, this is not a bad 4K release, highlights do hold more depth and the digital effects do appear sharper in some areas. Overall, if this was rereleased with a new master, I’d purchase that.

The film itself without a doubt is great. And the product is also nice. Overall I thought the deal was great for a collector's edition, got it for $23. Aside from the obvious: blu-ray, blu-ray 3d and digital copy, you get a cool package with a unique cover art, some case files about mutants and the Trask's program, and a collection of fan art. I thought the extra features were fairly decent. Do I think they're holding on to a good bit of extra features for a later release? Of course they are. And that is really my only complaint. However I would like to also point out that I don't think it's worth what it costs now, $45. Unless you really want the fan art and case files, your bonus film content will be the same I would guess. Hope this helps.

The X-Men movies are very hit or miss. Sometimes they hit the ball out of the park, sometimes its a grandslam. Days of Future Past is more of an RBI.... but not in a bad way! The only flaw this movie had was following the story. Why is Professor X like this? Why is Magneto like that? Who in the heck is this other person? If you look outside of these small complaints and just pay attention to the fact that its a solid X-Men movie, then there ya go! Make sure to keep watching after the credits to be extra stoked for the next movie!

There were only a few good elements of Days of Future Past and the Rogue Cut made it better. Only picked it up for $3.99 for a Black Friday deal, so, for that price and with the extra scenes and features, it is worth it.

I loved Days of Future Past when I first bought the 3D Blu-Ray. I rebound this for two main reasons: 1) Different cover (Mystique Slipcover) and 2) Free Movie Money. The Video & Audio Quality is fantastic. The special features on this edition may seem skimpy and short but they are very entertaining in all aspects of the film from the standard deleted scenes and gag reel to the enlightening feature combining of two casts and the conflict of the Sentinels. Great movie, Great price & Great Bonus of Movie Money!

Best X-Men movie to date in my opinion. Michael Fassbender has another stellar performance as Magneto as well as James McAvoy with Professor X. Hugh Jackman's best performance as Wolverine to date as well. The story is taken from the comics which I believe they did a great job of adapting to the big screen. They do a great job of showcasing all of the mutants powers and you really get the feeling that they are powerful. Also are very intimidating in this movie. All around great movie, do not rent this movie, this is a must buy!

bought this in store on release day. it's basically the same Blu-ray as the regular 3d version, but with the fancier packaging. under this slipcover is a box that contains the plastic bluray box (same as standard version), and a deck of cards with information about sentinels and select x-men. not sure if every deck is the same, or if it's a random selection of characters. this is the first blu ray set that I've purchased that only includes the 3d br, the regular br, and digital copy. the studio finally got it right and ditched the regular dvd usually included with the other discs. the dvd is generally pretty useless to me, and its omission reduced the price of the set by $7. I sure hope all 3d br sets are like this going forward.

    Best Version of The Movie

*SPOILER FREE* The Rogue Cut of Days of Future Past improves upon an already solid film. Essentially, the new version adds a wonderful action scene and a few alternate scenes (mainly in the "future" parts of the film). Nothing feels out of place or slows/bogs down the plot. Additionally, there is some really neat editing involved with the inclusion of the new footage. But, hey, if it ends up not being your favorite version, the Theatrical Cut is also included! One of the best installments in the franchise.

Last year's X-Men: Days of Futures Past may have been the best one yet, but this Blu-ray offers both the original version of the film, as well as the new "Rogue Cut," that features several scenes feature Anna Paquin's character, as well as several other new/altered scenes. Both versions of the movie have their strengths and weaknesses, so it's fun to compare. Each version also has a different audio commentary. Combined with several other new special features, it's a excellent purchase for any fan of these films.

This movie has it all, a great storyline going back to the first movie in the franchise along with a terrific cast and awesome special effects. The time travel aspect is a nice touch as well. As a sci fi fan (particulary of the Star Trek universe) I have seen many time travel stories done well. This film carries on that tradition. If you want action, suspense an great special effects coupled with a great story, this is for you. This is the Ultimate Edition..consisting of a 3D Blu Ray disc, a 2D Blu Ray and a digital copy.

The Rogue cut of this film is not entirely better, which is saying something because I usually enjoy director's cuts more. I can see why they edited out certain extra scenes, but the nice part about this edition is that it comes with both versions of the film. Originally I don't think it was supposed to, but hey the X-Men are full of surprises since First Class was such a hit and then this. Never bought it when it first came out since this was already announced to come out at some point. Glad I waited!

After seeing this at the movies I was a little disappointed as I really enjoyed the previous film "X-Men First Class" I think this is a very good movie but not a great one. Michael Fasbender and James McAvoy are terrific as the young Magneto and Professor X. I think the "rouge version" is a much better version, a more complete version. The scenes that were cut I believe would have made this a more complete film. I still would recommend this since it is still a very good movie.

A Good Reset Button For The Series

It's been 15 years since the first Xmen movie was released and in that time we've had 9 movies featuring characters from the franchise. With the destructive ending in "The Last Stand" Fox looked to open a new window on the series, not with a reboot but a jump backward in time. "Days of Future Past" allows for an alternate universe/timeline to take over for course correction - a theme often visited in the comics and cartoon series. The timing seems right as well, with the leads from the original movies starting to age out (we're looking at you professor). The new direction offers a fun and exiting journey for fans to embark on as they follow their favorite mutants through the decades.

Even if Professor X is a dick for parts of the movie, they still make you care about the characters. It starts off with a heart-pounding attack from some gnarly looking machines and only gets better. The danger feels real, and the odds virtually insurmountable, making the drama butt-clenchingly tense. The only thing I didn't like is their misuse of Mystique's powers when they should have been using Rogue, who actually has the ability to take a superhero's powers. Oh well, small gripe against such brilliance.

Mutants try to survive the fight of their lives

I personal feel that this is the best X-Men movie is years. They were able to take a two comic storyline and turn it into an unforgettable X-Men film. In the Future, Mutants are all but extinct thanks to killer machines called sentinels. With the help of kitty pride, Wolverine is sent back in time to stop the sentinel program from happening. He meets much resistance from the mutants who would later in life become his friends. Can Wolverine convince his fellow mutants to help save their futures, or will he fail, leaving the mutants to go extinct? What I really like about this film, is that it's storyline undoes what the last two films did, as far as story goes. This film fixes the mistakes of the others.

It's cooler looking out of the shrink wrap than you'd think. Shiny! Also, just enough fun stuff on the inside to make it worth the slightly bigger size. As for the movie...the 3D quality is in my opinion quite good, a lot of depth. Very natural looking, which is to be expected since it was actually filmed with 3d cameras for a change. Lastly, I found the movie itself to be excellent. Been a big fan of the 'reboot' of this series, and this second in the series is just as good, if not better, than the last one.

X-Men Days of Future Past was a phenomenal movie all around. The special effects were seamless and exciting, the action was plentiful and the story was surprisingly thoughtful and interesting. They have redeemed themselves from the train wreck that X-Men 3 was. Now that they have put the franchise back on track, I am actually looking forward to X-Men Apocolypse. This installment of X-Men had an amazing cast playing beloved characters that is not only worth seeing, but worth buying to watch over and over again.

I had already seen and enjoyed this movie in the theater. Having grown up in the 60's reading the X-Men comics I'm no stranger to them or the stories. This was a great interpretation of a storyline they had published back in the 70's (okay...maybe early 80's for you nitpickers out there...). Fact is both my wife (who is not into comics) and I enjoyed it. The Blu-ray has some very good additions. Just wish they have to just announce they're reissuing it with added footage. My only %#@*&^ complaint.
