Nice Exclusive & Includes 3D
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The film is a great combo of the actors of the orginal team and the new team. Any fan of the X-Men must buy this film. This version has great box art and the inserts are clever and well done. Very satisfyied with this cut of the film. Did hear about the future Rogue Cut. That isn't a reality yet, plus who knows if that version will have a 3D version? The 3D is great; this was shot in 3D. The framing of the scenes constantly makes use of the 3D spatial image. May have to double dip depending what value the Rogue Cut may have, but the excellent quality of this exclusive packaging and fair price at release week won't give me any regrets.

A nice but unnecessary extended cut
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bryan Singer says that this is a brand new version of the film, but let's be honest - he was probably fed that line by Fox in order to try to convince us to buy it. Did it work? Yeah. But after watching it, I absolutely understand why these extra scenes were cut, as they're a distraction from the main storyline. The part where Mystique comes back to the mansion secretly and has a moment with Beast wasn't needed either. I appreciate seeing the extra footage, but it could easily have been added in the deleted scenes section instead of this blatant cash grab - because the extra scenes don't make it its own unique version in the least. They were kind enough to add in new extras/features, however, which is the main reason I actually picked it up. For those of you who don't own the movie, this is an obvious buy since it contains both the Rogue Cut and the Theatrical Cut. For those who have bought the Theatrical Cut when it was first released, ask yourself if spending $15-20 (depending on when it's on sale) is worth it for some neat extras. Otherwise, you may wish to pass. Still a cautious recommendation.

Another great Marvel Cinematic Universe feature fi
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remember going with my brother to see this when it was released in theaters and we were blown away by the quality of the film. Great story, plot and action detailing how the mutant hunting Sentinels (from the comic books and animated series) were created. However with the Rogue cut of the film, we get her in it helping after Wolverine (Logan) was sent to the past in his younger body to seek out help from the younger Professor Xavier and Magneto to stop the robots creation from scientist Bolivar Trask. Definitely one of the best X-Men movies made and highly recommended.

Nicely done...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As Steelbooks go, this one is just like all the rest...nothing special but not disappointing. What does make it worthwhile and what I love in a Steelbook is the cover art, both front and back. The covers of the first 5 X-Men movies have been created in Steelbook using a single image of a major character from that movie. It's simple, well done, and not just a movie poster photograph of the cast, but something original to this product. On the back is the Trask name along with Trask and Sentinal project logos on both sides. Of course, it comes with a digital copy so that, at $14.99, you feel like you are getting some good value for your money. A necessary part of any Steelbook or X-Men collection.

great story, great cast...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a fan of the X-Men series since the first movie. The plot arcs and character development has been supurb and the story is extremely compelling, with relevance to the real world if one looks beyond the straight sci fi storyline. As an avid Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman fan , their performances are stellar alongside Sir /Ian NcKellan and the rest. If you love sci fi and love good stories, this franchise has it all, with great effects to boot! Highly recommended! The special editions deserve a note here. The Best Buy Edition is the Ultimate Edition of the movie coupled with some interesting exclusive items, such as mutant files from the fictitious Trask ndustries. Media content wise, you still get a 3D Blu Ray version, a 2D Blu Ray and a digital copy.

Best X-Men Film Yet With Cool Packaging
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Days of Future Past is, in my opinion, the best X-Men related film yet and is an easy purchase for any fan. I have yet to watch it in 3D so my review does not pertain to the quality of depth it may provide. I went with the Best Buy exclusive because it has the coolest looking packaging available (even over the steelbooks). The outer slipbox is rather thin though and is more like a cardboard paper sleeve. The inner case is more study and houses the exclusive materials and the deluxe edition blu ray case. Blu ray quality is top notch in both video and audio. I have read about the 2D version having issues with some blu ray players but it played just fine in my PS3. Movie starts with an unskippable trailer to Exodus, kind of lame Fox has started doing this.

Great Movie. Decent 4k Conversion.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off we love this movie. It's a great X-Men flick and basically another Wolverine movie. Only reason for not giving it five stars is the video is not from a new 4k HDR master, it is upconverted from the Blu-ray master, and the sound is the same from the Blu-ray release. While is is disappointing not have a new video master the picture looks quite good, not 4k popping good but good. It may be the old Blu-ray would look as good upconverted, so if you already own it you might want to hold off buying the 4K copy. We don't mind these failings too much since it's a movie we love and it looks a lot better the the X-Men First Class 4K disc. Again biggest gripe is FOX does not redeem 4K movie digital copies in 4k Digital, you will get the same HD digital copy you get with the regular blu-ray. This is a disappointment because so many other studios are trying to redeem there 4K blu-ray digital codes in 4k HDR. This will affect our future purchases of FOX 4k movies.

Marvel Movies Keep Getting Better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The X-Men franchise can be thanked for the current success MARVEL Comics are having today. Way back in 2000 the very 1st X-men movie made it's round to the movies and literally changed the way Hollywood viewed Super Hero movies forever. The Cast of the original X-men have come together 15 years later to once again dominate the box office. Following the formula the Avengers Movie used before them ... by adding characters from other leading movies in a fight against evil. X-men : Days of future past mixes both cast from the Original X-men and The new X-men First Class and builds one fantastic voyage going back into the past to the 1970's to stop a threat that affects the future. It's a great movie. Get the popcorn ready and enjoy this wonderful ride.

"Rogue Cut" an Interesting Re-take of a Great Film
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are a fan of the X-Men movie series, especially the clever reboot of the series with the "First Class" editions, then you probably know that the "Days of Future Past" was cut by approximately 10 minutes prior to its theatrical release, a decision that almost completely eliminated the character of Rogue (Anna Paquin). This "Rogue Cut" restores those scenes, which are interesting in fleshing out some of the character interactions; however, they are not scenes that are indispensable to an enjoyment or appreciation of the film. In fact, Ia strong case could be made the theatrical release is the better version. Fortunately, this edition includes both the theatrical and the "Rogue Cut," so you can decide for yourself.

Get this one...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not the standard edit. Like the black box version of The Wolverine, The Rogue Cut is the better draw of DoFP. It has both versions, and in my mind the Rogue Cut is more thorough. Sadly, theatre versions and misc. cuts exist. (I personally deem it a grand premeditated marketing scheme). Typically, the Director's Cut of a film is definitive and this one is no exception. It has a little more sentinel battle action and includes a welcome comeback of a familiar alum to the franchise, just in case you were tired of having Jackman's and Lawrence's current celebrity status smeared on every other scene. 7.1 Audio for people concerned about this. For my setup, I miss a little bit of low channel frequency during these types of playback, and dialogue seems quitter than when in 5.1 channel. But the picture will blow your mind, especially the digital effects for the future sentinels. Actually, get this over the 4K version as well, until they release the Rogue Cut on 4K Blu-ray.

Best new X-men movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely loved Days of Future Past as we got the nostalgic feel of the old ones with Patrick Stewart as well as the new cast. The pace of the film I thought flowed pretty well with some spots dragging a bit. In the new trilogy, this is definitely my favorite with many character arches as well as deeper backgrounds. To some, the film may feel like a cheap way to restart the franchise, but to me, it added more depth to some of the characters while providing a best-case scenario and worse case scenario. Hugh Jackman was great as the wolverine as well as Jennifer Lawrence played a conflicted Mystique. You won't be disappointed in this trip back to the future.

Best X-Men Yet!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Thanks to the debacle that was the third x-men movie under a different director that chose to kill off some very important characters, this movie sets right what was once wrong. The story and narrative is second to none and shines brilliantly on bluray 3d or bluray whichever your preference. This special "best buy only" addition packs the standard bluray case of the 3d version with bluray and digital copy inside of a nicer packaging full of secret files [basically colored photos of some the most famous x-men from the movie and their backstorys] This movie is a must watch and comes highly recommended as a must own. The bluray 3d and bluray provide nearly flawless viewing into an alternate universe that begs to be experienced.
