If you didn't care for X-Men 3 or X-Men Origins: Wolverine, don't despair. This is the movie you wanted to see when you went to see those. The only problem with this movie (a minor one) is that some of the characters from previous movies don't appear on screen for long enough, but they don't really matter to the overall story so it ends up being a wink to the audience (look... there's Havok for a few seconds...). That aside, this is what filmmakers need to do when adapting a comic book to the screen. Don't try to make it an action film with generic characters. Mix great acting with great special effects. Let the characters drive the story and not the effects. Throw a few little references in for the real comic fans but don't get too mired down in the stuff that only a die-hard fan would know. Following that advice creates a film that will be enjoyed by both casual fans and comic book fans... and that's what you get with this movie.

After a rocky third film and a terrible first Wolverine spin-off, X-Men looked to be in the gutter. However with the arrival of First Class, things were looking to change around. The Wolverine washed away the filth of Origins and placed Wolverine back on track. Now the big one, Days of Future Past set to do what no other X film has done. Effectively undo the two terrible films of The Last Stand and Origins and establishing a new timeline where characters who died returned back to life. You have riveting performances by all the First Class cast, a solid performance from Jackman and quite possibly the scene stealer, Quicksilver played by Evan Peters. Combined with the long awaited appearance of the Sentinels and a ensemble cast of every single character prior films (all reprised by the same actors) you have a magical superhero film that rivals Marvel's The Avengers. Pick this one up.

This is one of the best X-men movie franchise of all time

This movie was excellent. One of the best out of the X-Men series. It's the first X-Men movie that really does a good job of tying all the others together, including the prequels and spinoff movies before it. There was a few things in the plot that were kind of unexplained, one being a small detail, and the other being pretty major. ("X-Men 3", and "The Wolverine" spoiler alerts!) In the previous film "The Wolverine", Wolverine loses the adamantium metal covering his claws, yet in this film, the present time Wolverine has recovered it some how. The return of Xavier hasn't fully made sense to me either. Maybe I'm just slow. There's a secret ending after X-Men 3: The Last Stand, hinting to his return, yet now that he has returned, it still wasn't fully explained. But all in all, I enjoyed it. The ending was a major surprise as well, so if you're a fan of the X-Men movie franchise, I definitely would recommend it.
