Great option if you can’t afford the 1TB
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With Starfield on the horizon I had to make sure I could play it day one. With my only Xbox One it was incompatible with this new game so I had to make the most cost efficient upgrade. After setting it up using the Xbox app on my phone I am so glad I purchased this item. It is a wonderful addition to my entertainment system as a whole and provides not only optimal gaming content but access to my existing streaming services at the press of a button. I highly recommend this product if this the 1TB option is out of your price range because it offers pretty close to what is needed to accomplish the new chapter of gaming.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great deal for the Holiday! Being a TotalTech member and the low price made BestBuy the only place that made sense to by this from. Super fast, quiet, doesn’t operate as hot as the Xbox One, very satisfied with purchase.

The Right Choice for Most People
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very hesitant to buy the Series S instead of the Series X. I pride myself on always having the best, most up to date tech available and, on paper, this isn’t it. However, with the Series X in such short supply, I purchased this as a placeholder until I could find a Series X. I am so glad that I did. This device renders at lower resolutions than it’s bigger brother, meaning that the picture is not quite as clear, but sitting on my couch and viewing it from a normal viewing distance, I can barely tell. I would never recommend this for a gaming desk setup, because the differences in rendering resolution and slightly dialed back effects are going to be obvious to people sitting 2-4 feet away from their screen. In a living room setup on the other hand, where most people sit about 10 feet away from their screens, this looks really great! Even being the great big tech-geek that I am, I’m considering skipping the more expensive Series X and just sticking with my Series S. I have to imagine that if I’m happy with it, the majority of people definitely would be as well.

Great value for the price point
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Such a great value for the price point! I have game pass for the next 3 years and this console is perfect for my needs. The console has such a low profile that it will fit in any entertainment setup. Cooling is also a non-issue with the huge fan. Highly recommended for those with game pass and not picky about hardware.

A+ value - can’t complain about much at this price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good deal if you need a console upgrade but aren’t a big time gamer. Value is great in $-per-feature, compared to the Xbox series X, ps5 both versions. Real question is whether you value gaming enough to pay for more nifty features. This is the Honda Accord, does everything well that you need and won’t set you back anymore than you need, while the other consoles may be more akin to slightly more sporty cars that are cool and all, but don’t necessarily make a huge difference in its overall real purpose.

I'm not a gamer but,
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm new to gaming. This is the first console I've ever used. I basically chose this for its price and whether it would play Hogwarts Legacy efficiently. I asked a gamer about different consoles and went with the one i could afford. I'm satisfied with what it does. The only problem is there is no disc drive. All games are digital.

Worth every penny
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Xbox Series S is a compact and affordable next-generation gaming console offered by Microsoft. Here's a review of the console based on its features and performance. Design and Build Quality: The Xbox Series S features a sleek and compact design that is significantly smaller than its counterpart, the Xbox Series X. It has a white color scheme with a black vented grille on top. The build quality is solid, with a premium feel despite its smaller size. The console is lightweight, making it easy to move around or fit into smaller spaces. Performance: While the Xbox Series S is less powerful than the Xbox Series X, it still delivers impressive performance for its price. It is capable of rendering games at up to 1440p resolution with support for ray tracing and variable refresh rate. The console also features a custom SSD, which significantly reduces loading times in games and allows for quick resume features. It is worth noting that the Series S targets 60fps performance rather than the higher frame rates offered by the Series X. Game Library: The Xbox Series S is part of the Xbox ecosystem, which includes Xbox Game Pass, a subscription service that provides access to a vast library of games. This gives players the opportunity to explore a wide variety of titles, including both new releases and older classics. The console is backward compatible, allowing you to play Xbox One, Xbox 360, and even some original Xbox games. Additionally, the Series S supports Smart Delivery, which ensures that you get the best version of a game for your console. User Interface and Features: The Xbox Series S runs on the same user interface as the rest of the Xbox One family, with a user-friendly and intuitive interface. It offers various entertainment apps and streaming services, making it a versatile entertainment center. The console also supports backward compatibility with Xbox One accessories, so you can continue using your existing controllers, headsets, and other peripherals. Value for Money: The Xbox Series S is an excellent choice for gamers on a budget or those who don't require 4K gaming. It offers a significant leap in performance over the previous generation, supports the latest gaming technologies, and provides access to a vast game library. Its lower price point compared to the Series X makes it an attractive option for casual gamers or those with limited space. Conclusion: The Xbox Series S is a compelling choice for gamers looking for a more affordable entry into next-generation gaming. While it sacrifices some power and 4K capabilities compared to the Series X, it still delivers impressive performance and features a robust game library. If you're primarily focused on 1080p or 1440p gaming and want access to the latest Xbox titles, the Series S is a solid choice that offers great value for money.

Gaming Couple Review
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think Best Buy has probably handled stocking these better than most retailers did, especially with how hard these are to find. This was my second Next-Gen console, this one for my wife, who was using my hand-me-down Xbox one S. Best Buy made it simple and easy to surprise my wife and have her pick it up herself. This was an added touch that I really appreciate their app having. Best Buy did a 10/10 on this purchase. The Console Itself: It’s definitely not the Series X in terms of processing power, which led to a loss of fluidity in frame rate at times, but this was far and few between, happening exclusively on large MMORPG’s Such as Black Desert. It’s internal storage is laughable, considering large games can be 100’s of gbs. An easy fix is to just pick up a 2 tb hard drive from seagate. That’s what she did, and now she has more room that I do. Overall, it was a great buy for us. If you’re looking to game with your partner, the series S is an awesome option!

Great Device for Great Price (and easier to get)
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really holding out for an XBOX Series X but I was having such a hard time finding one so I opted for the Series S. This was actually my first XBOX since the 360. I have a PS4 and I use that quite often but figured with GamePass due to the price of the Series S, I would give it a go and I'm glad I got it. I have a 65" LG C1 and even with the lower resolution, I have no issues with quality on the OLED tv, I was a little worried with it not having true 4k capabilities for gaming but honestly I never even notice. What I probably notice the most is how much quicker it is as loading games than my PS4 PRO but I cannot comment on prior XBOX models and it's been a while since I've owned one. If you can truly live without the true 4k, I say it's the next best thing and with gamepass, it makes for a great gaming experience.
