Customers are saying

Customers commend the Xbox Series S for its affordability, compact size, and impressive performance, especially considering its price point. Many appreciate the ease of use and fast load times, along with the benefits of Xbox Game Pass. However, some users point out limitations in storage capacity and the lack of a disc drive as significant drawbacks. The console's resolution capabilities also receive mixed feedback.

I bought the xbox series S because I couldn't find the Series X anywhere, it exceeded my expectations. As someone who does not care much for resolution or graphics comparisons the series S was a great purchase. I thought it would be a lot weaker than the Series S and would eventually force me to upgrade, but it played the same games with no difference in graphics (that I could tell). I eventually upgraded to a Series X and gave the S to my brother and it has kept up with the games that have come out since it released. I was genuinely debating on wether to upgrade to the Series X or buy another Series S for myself.

Sweet Deal For an Excellent Product

The Xbox Series S is like the cool, budget-friendly cousin in the Xbox family. It's smaller and way easier on the wallet than the Series X. You won't get the top-notch graphics of the pricier models, but games still look pretty darn good. The all-white design is sleek and doesn't take up much space, which is a win if your TV area is already cluttered. The 512 GB storage fills up faster than you'd think, especially if you download a lot of games. But the fast load times? Totally a game-changer. No disc drive, so you gotta be okay with downloading everything. If you're new to gaming or don't need all the fancy extras, this is a great pick.

It came with everything needed. My daughter loves it. The memory isn’t very much so an external hard drive is definitely needed if you’re planning on playing many different games that require a sizable amount of storage.

The Xbox Series S is a compact, budget-friendly powerhouse offering fast load times, smooth gameplay, and access to Xbox Game Pass. While its 512GB storage can fill up quickly, it delivers impressive performance for its price, making it a solid choice for gamers seeking affordability without sacrificing quality.

Like many, I was very skeptical about purchasing the Xbox Series S. The internal storage, lack of disc drive and all of the missing hardware capabilites made me really question on whether or not I should just wait for either the Series X or PS5 until I saw it available on Best Buy's website. After thinking it through, I decided to pull the trigger and it definitely is not a regret by any means. I purchased 2k21 which looks absolutely fantastic. I was a huge PS user during the last generation so I skipped out on alot of the proprietary games that were available on the Xbox One and was able to catch up on all of them along with downloading old classics dating all the way back to the original Xbox. I ended up purchasing an external hard drive (must have) to save a chunk of my games. I am playing games now that I completely forgot about from libraries I completely forgot existed and it is amazing. I love being able to relive my childhood and experience the new generation all in one console. For it's price of $299.99 this purchase was definitely worth it

I got this because the X wasn't available and I wanted a console that could play the new Harry Potter game that's coming out. So far it works great, much more performant than my Xbox One. It plays Cyberpunk much better.

Perfect modern console. Quick load times and Game Pass offers extensive selection. Buy the 512 gig memory card and you're set. 1440 native and 4k upscaling work perfectly on my 65 inch Samsung Q60T do don't mind reviews to the contrary.

The Xbox Series S is a great value for the money and a worthy upgrade from the old Xbox One. It is small and lightweight and is very quiet. Be advised it does NOT have a disc drive. I thought I would miss having the disc drive but I do not. Everything you need, you can download off the Microsoft store. No discs = no hassles. It obviously is not as powerful as the Series X, but you won’t even be able to tell the difference. The only thing I really don’t like about it is that the system hard drive is a meager 512GB. You can get a 1TB expansion card, but in 2021 they are still very expensive, but they are expected to drop in price down the road a bit. All in all, I would recommend the Series S, especially since at the time of this review, the Series X is still nearly impossible to find.

First X-Box I ever owned, and I’m pleased. I also have a PS5 but each console has its advantages. Game Pass is totally worth it, and Dev Mode is a MUST if you love emulation.

Great little box doesn’t feel like an upgrade what so ever tho it has very fast load times if you want good graphics this isn’t a good console whatsoever I have never seen the stupid series x in stock ever but this little guy is weak found a ps5 finally you can reallly tell the difference as far as textures go if I could get the x I’d probably give three out of four this definitely isn’t the best new generation we have had games hardly changed think back to ps2 to ps3 Xbox one to 360

I wasn't going to get my youngest son an Xbox because the Series X were all sold out. I also heard some negatives on the Series X with their overheating issues. I decided to go with the Series S after reading nothing but good reviews about it. My son loves it, and it performs phenomenally. I also purchased him a gaming monitor before Christmas for his Xbox One he has. My oldest has the Xbox One S, the digital one with no disc-drive. The Series S is fast, and he has it connected to our modem via an ethernet cable to boost the speed. Even my oldest who was home from school said our internet connection was lightning-fast when hard connected as they were both switching the cable to boost their download speeds. The bottom line is, don't be disappointed if you can't get a Series X. Go with the Series S and get a Seagate 1TB storage card built for the S. You'll be right up there with the X except for supposed higher resolution graphics.
