Customers are saying

Customers commend the Xbox Series S for its affordability, compact size, and impressive performance, especially considering its price point. Many appreciate the ease of use and fast load times, along with the benefits of Xbox Game Pass. However, some users point out limitations in storage capacity and the lack of a disc drive as significant drawbacks. The console's resolution capabilities also receive mixed feedback.

No disc drive, but no big deal with so much available to just digitally download. Gaming is always better with a SSD. And it takes up less space with it's smaller size.

Best Buy was the only store I could find this system at! It’s much more responsive than last-gen consoles, I couldn’t believe the difference in load times and refresh rates. The new controller is awesome and has a ton more grip than the old ones. Overall awesome product and glad Best Buy had one in stock!

Using with my new LG 45 in monitor. This console is better then they used to be. I will say im not a fan of the lack of disk drive. They only made this a 500gb console. And there is no disk drive... any game these days require 200-300 gb for download which takes 1/3 of the drive space alone... requiring a external drive to cover space if you play multiple games

I had a series X but gave it to my little brother for christmas since his mom couldn't find one to buy in store. I missed xbox so I bought one of these, and besides the missing disc drive, it really has little to no compromises. Besides the most graphic intensive titles, this looks basically as good. If you played them side by side you could probably tell a difference, but its minimal and plays most games great. I think they could make this exact console but have a disc drive, and it would sell well. You can take all the other compromises over the series x, but having a disc is convenient. I do buy most games digitally but having the option, or finding a good sale price on a disc based game, is something you miss out on. Xbox digital store does have some good sales though, but not the quick price drop you see on new disc based games a week or 2 after they come out.

I was lucky enough to get the Series S before Christmas for my 11 year old son. He is quite happy with it. I was a little nervous about the lack of a disk drive, but it has been a non-issue. He uses the Ultimate Game Pass and uses the console as a way to play online. So far, it has been a big hit.

    Has next gen arrived?

I have been looking forward to the new XBox Series consoles and the enhanced experience. After using it regularly since I purchased it, I have to be honest that I am underwhelmed. I do not believe that is the fault of the hardware, but rather the games (which I know will come). If your XBox One has died and you are looking for a new console, this is perfect. But if that's not the case, wait for the supply to go back up. PROS: (MANY!) • The price! The $300 price point is fantastic! I've read criticism of the Series S, but I think it is a wonderful price point to access "Next Generation" gaming and titles, especially if you see gaming as recreation. • The size - I continue to be surprised by how light and small this console is. (are you sure this is an XBox?) • Load times - with most games, (especially compared with previous generation hardware) almost non-existent • Standby feature - you can place your games on "standby" much like you can do with the Nintendo Switch. This works with most (but not all) games. • Improved graphics - You can tell the differences in frame rate and graphics textures on high definition televisions and monitors • Interface - The Series S/X interface, although similar to the XBox One, has some slight differences and modifications that make it even more accessible. CONSIDERATIONS: • 512 GB for a completely online console? That's like 4-5 "A-List" titles! (RDR2, Halo MC Edition, Cyberpunk 2077, SW Battlefront 2 and...what? Full? Give me a break!) • Gameplay - Despite the improved graphics and framerates, I still have not had the experience that makes me go, "Wow." Like I said though, I think that has much more to do with the games. Great games on XB One are still great games on the Series S/X. With that being said... • Games - Despite fantastic load times and improved interface, there just still is not that game that makes you stand up and take notice. Solid, good games with improved visuals. Recent trend of next gen games going from $60-$70? Not ready to leap that far yet.

Great console that goes along well with a PC setup as a console for any games you currently own and enhances older OG Xbox and 369 games. Newer S optimized games also work well and this console is ridiculously fast when it comes to boot up and loading.

Now granted, I wasn’t able to get either the PS5 or the Series X but the series S is the unsung hero I have yet to get bored with it, now yes I am limited to the fps and other factors but given the price you are really getting your monies worth with this system.

Awesome if you want to go all digital especially with the Xbox app that allows you to stream all your games on your android phone and soon iPhones as well. No more Clutter of gang boxes or where are you going to store all those CDs swapping and changing games it’s so simple best decision I ever made

This Xbox is great for casual players. It doesnt take too much space to be setup. You dont need to buy discs, but the limited memory can be offset by using external drives to store games if you plan to purchase them. The game pass was so easier and conveniente because you only pay a monthly fee of 18 a month to access hundreds of games. Sure, the only inconvenience is having to download and delete games every time you’re running out of space. But, again, this xbox is good for casual players

I don't see the need to get to upgrade to the series X if you get this product with a external hard drive, more cost effective and you will have the same gaming experience.

I bought This for my boyfriend and I love It. I wanted To get him the series x but everywhere was sold out so I finally bought this bad boy! And when I say I am Overjoyed! I’ve bought every Xbox that came out and this is far this best one!!! This Xbox is not only small which is very convent when having a small gaming area to play in! Now I just Said this Xbox is small! But that don’t mean nothing! What they use to say don’t judge a book by it’s cover! It’s powerful and durable! This Xbox is extremely fast the graphics on it it’s remarkable and don’t get me started on the upgraded controller it comes with. Just look at the design it’s beautiful! Really a piece of art! I was So in love with it I bought Me another one and kept it in the box because I want To keep it for my generation and pass it down because everybody need to be able to experience this!!!!

Best console you can get at this pricepoint. Considering the value and how much more pleasing it is aesthetically (compared to series x) I think its a perfect companion to ps5.

Thanks to Best Buy I was able to grab two of these little titans for my kids NOT to scalp real gamers. I also got myself the Series X from Best Buy of course and I must say this disc-free console is amazing. I should have gone with the Gamepass bundle so save $15 because that will get you the most out of this console. It comes packed with such care and quality materials that unboxing it alone was a far better experience than the Playstation 5 I finally got 4 months after launch but thanks again to bestbuy.com. The HDMI and controller are every bit of what you get with the Series X so there is nothing left desired except the storage but it is manageable and expandable. Unless you have an 8K TV and even then I believe this console came to play and makes no apologies. At this price point pick one up and have a blast while you wait to get that PS5 but certainly don't give in to the scalpers because NONE of the systems are worth more than retail and Best Buy is the place to get all of them.

Totally go a deal on this console. I got it for 229 with a 50 dollar gift card. Easy setup. Loads really.quick and the graphics.look better than the one s. So far no issues with it, my only complaint is that its digital with only 512 gb
