I have owned this system since release in November, so this review is not a first-impression take. First, like most systems launched these days, there were some quirks and bugs at launch, but those have since been ironed out. The UI is the same, which can be good or bad, depending on how you look at it. I personally view that as a positive because I knew where everything was when trying to troubleshoot some of those early bugs. Second, I realize Xbox had no dedicated or exclusive games for this gen at release, but having access to and playing my library of both old and new Xbox One games in better quality and speed has more than made up the lack of exclusive titles. New (and current) games offering Series Optimized updates were/are stunning and I feel only scratch the surface on what this system can do overall. Smart Delivery has also been a huge plus in upgrading games that have an optimization without having to really do anything. Hard drive speeds have been nothing short of impressive. Load times on basic XBOne games are a fraction of my One X. I also picked up the Seagate expansion storage, and there is nothing different between games played off either drive. Transfers between the two are a snap (if you know the UI), and I can attest that a 40 GB game takes roughly 90 seconds to move. And finally, there's Quick Resume, easily the most next-gen feature that feels a little underrated. While it doesn't work on all games, such as some online-only games, it has been a breath of fresh air for larger games that have larger load times (Assassin's Creed Valhalla was my best test case). Let me offer this up as well: for the first time in my gaming life, a new console generation actually outperforms most current-gen TVs. I have a 4K/60Hz LG panel that has been an awesome TV, yet I would have to upgrade to get the most out of this system. That doesnt mean an upgrade is necessary, however, as everything I've been able to play in 4K/60 has been amazing. And as a note, I probably won't be upgrading the TV just yet. If you can find this system at stock price, you will not be disappointed. If you are more of a casual gamer, don't discredit the Series S either as it too is an awesome little system.

Although a currently elusive item. After weeks of trying to buy one I managed to grab one online here on my birthday no less. Console is amazing and truly feels next gen. Later I purchased a 4K HDR tv to go with this. The graphics and loading is insane. GTA will fully load in about 30 seconds, and if you have ever played gta before you know you could make breakfest and eat it before this game booted up on last gen. Games coming out such as Enlisted and BF 2042 really are showcasing the power of this console. Can’t go wrong!

TLDR: worth the money, will likely run future games great and look great for the next 6 years, SSD is wicked fast but is also small and needs more memory, puts out A LOT of heat. Fantastic console. Big heads up... IT PUTS OUT A LOT OF HEAT! Pros: •Super fast and powerful gaming system, •Super quiet even when running games at 4K 60fps, •Same operating system as the Xbox One line so everything is backwards compatible, •Memory is a SSD so load times are extremely fast for most games (for reference: Skyrim load times are so short I can’t finish reading a single sentence on the loading screens). •ray tracing is amazing and makes a world of difference. •FPS is usually locked at what you want it to be in most scenarios so I don’t really notice frame rate drops that often. •performance rivals gaming computers (desktops) in the $1200 range. •will likely be able to have no problems running the next 5-8 years of advancements in gaming and graphics while still looking amazing which is the main reason I dropped the $500. •upgraded WiFi card in the console so download speeds aren’t capped at 80mbps anymore (I downloaded a 16gb update in 8 minutes at 230mbps when I pay for a 300mbps plan and my roommate is playing his Xbox at the same time.) CONS: •puts out A LOT of heat... like similar to a space heater (do not even think about putting the console in an entertainment system or shelf unless you cut holes in the back where the intakes are and give the exhaust at least 8” of clearance and angled so the exhaust is pointed a little away (like 10-15 degrees) from the shelf. Not a problem if it is standing upright on top of something with nothing above it or blocking the vents.) •it uses the old operating system so it doesn’t feel new unless you use the dynamic moving backgrounds for the Home Screen. •a lot of games are still not optimized/don’t take full advantage of the new hardware and technology so quick resume, high frame rates, and 4K are not available on a lot of games (but that’s an issue with Microsoft and the other games, not with the console). •it has a 1 terabyte SSD which isn’t a lot of space for modern day and future games, so either buckle down and buy the 1tb SSD expansion card for $200 or use a cheaper hard drive but forfeit the amazing loading times and other features. (A terabyte is about 1000 gigabytes, and after the operating system you only have ~840gb free. New games are usually around 50-110 gigabytes and they’re just going to get larger). •distracts me from studying and is making it hard to finish my Pre-med degree with a good gpa lol

The graphics on this console is incomparable! I also own a PS5 but the Xbox is definitely alot more user friendly. My best recommendation is too purchase additional storage on day one, with better graphics games tend to take a little more space than before. Also the Microsoft elite controller 2 is the best controller ive owned

Truly an impressive piece of hardware. The controller is awesome, especially the D-Pad with its nice circular corners for fighting games and the way it curves in. I was instantly impressed that it could run GTA 4 in a locked 60 FPS! Not to mention how quick and snappy the loading times are for games such as Red Dead Redemption 2 or GTA V. The setup is also painless and quick for the console! The design is nice, and the startup music is a eargasm. It’s a nice upgrade from the One X, but I only wish Halo could’ve launched with it. Anyways, it’s a great console.

Microsoft and Xbox have done an amazing job with the Xbox Series X. The console performs great, and the controller for this console is the best I’ve used ever. The downside I do have with this console is just the size and design of the console itself. While this console may have the design of a refrigerator it runs amazing, and I have a blast playing it.

So far so good, this is a big boy but runs really nice, be sure to keep in a well ventilated area because it can run hot with that top fan but no overheating so far, games have run great and I really enjoy quick resume makes switching games easy when my friends wanna hop on to our normal games, overall I'm very happy with my purchase, be warned however if you have a wireless headset there is a bug where it will turn your console on and your controller won't connect will probably be fixed with and update otherwise you just have to hard reset and resume as normal

It can go horizontal or vertical so were able to fit it better on our entertainment center. Hes a gamer so if he loves it, well, it must be pretty good.

    WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL CONSOLE

What else is there to say? It is the world's most powerful console. It's got great graphics, a stable, familiar UI, and the best controller as far as feel-in-the-hand. features such as smart-delivery, quick resume, and xbox game pass set this apart from the PS5 and ends up being a better bang-for-your-buck console to play games. Things they could of done better: better controller features like the haptics on the PS5 dual sense, a newer/cooler UI, but to be fair, this one is familiar and works better than the PS5 one.

I wanted a ps5 first this time around but I decided on the Xbox series x because it’s the more complete system at this time. Improvements in every way, especially load times, with zero negatives or issues. Despite having no issues, as with any new console launch, spend the 20% extra and pick up the Best Buy warranty. An example of load times: I can start a match on sea of thieves, have the ship loaded and sail to the next island before my friends load into the same match. Also, it looks 10x better and runs much smoother. Get one!

This system is insanely powerful for the asking price. I am able to plug in several external USB HDDs, unlike the PS5, so now I have the storage to take full advantage of GamePass. Every single game I've tried on this system looks better than it ever looked on any prior Xbox. Gears of War 3, for example, looks so clean it's almost like a remaster, but its just the way Series X does business. I love this thing. I love my PS5 and my Switch too. I just happen to like this one a hint more than the others. Game Pass is just TOO GOOD.

When I bought the Xbox Series X, I thought I was just getting the latest and greatest gaming console. What I didn’t expect was how it would bring me and my son closer than ever. My son and I have always had a good relationship, but between work, school, and life in general, we were starting to drift into our separate routines. I wanted something we could share—something that wasn’t forced or scheduled, just a way to enjoy each other’s company again. That’s when the Xbox Series X came into our lives. From the moment we unboxed it together, it became more than just a gaming system. We stayed up late setting it up, exploring Game Pass, and picking out our first games. The joy on his face when we played Forza Horizon, the teamwork in Halo Infinite, the laughter during Minecraft—those are moments I’ll never forget. It’s become our evening ritual—an hour or two of gaming side by side, talking, strategizing, and simply enjoying being together. I’ve learned more about what’s on his mind during these sessions than in a dozen car rides or dinner table talks. The Xbox Series X gave us the gift of time together, and in today’s world, that’s priceless. It’s not just a powerful machine—it’s a bridge between generations, a source of connection, and something I’ll always be grateful for. If you're a parent considering this console, don’t just think of the specs or the games—think of the memories you’ll create. Because that’s the real win.

It’s a powerhouse for a gaming console, especially compared to the older Xbox consoles. While it might be large in size still, it’s fun to look at and the 1 TB option is definitely the way to go if you play more than 3 games religiously. There’s no way Bill Gates invented this Xbox! Huge credit to whoever did.
