Customers are saying

Customers value the AMD Radeon RX 580 GTS Black Edition 8GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card for its strong performance, especially at 1080p resolution, and its competitive price. Many appreciate the ease of installation and the generally quiet operation, although some users noted higher than expected temperatures and a larger-than-anticipated size. Positive feedback also highlights the high frame rates achieved in gaming. However, a few users mentioned higher-than-expected power consumption.

I should have looked more closely at the reviews for this card because all of the negativity surrounding it are true. I got this card installed and for the first hour, everything seemed to function just fine. Afterwards though, I started experiencing intermittent loss of video signal(happed every 20 seconds or so) when trying to play any type of game. I thought maybe it was a software issue, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, changed hdmi cables, and even reverted back to old drivers to see if that would help. Nothing did. So then, I removed this card and put my old RX470 back in. And what do you know, no signal loss whatsoever. Installed the new card again to see if it was just a fluke and it did the same thing. Immediately returned this card and ordered from another brand. Not saying all XFX cards are bad, but stay far away from this particular one.

    Defective

I stumbled across this product on the shelf at a brick and mortar Best Buy and purchased it for the FreeSync capability to pair with my 4K FreeSync monitor. It offers respectable graphics performance but periodic screen flicker, intermittent loss of input signal to the monitor and overheating while gaming are unacceptable defects in a GPU. After sorting through some online reviews it appears that this particular RX 580 from this manufacturer is plagued with the aforementioned defects. I returned it to the store and although I no longer had the receipt the Best Buy staff converted the full purchase price into store credit. Disappointing product but I am more than satisfied with the customer care.

Perhaps it was the poor packaging that these are shipped in but I went through 3 of these before going with nVidia instead. And two of them I purchased from Microcenter so it wasn't necessarily a Best Buy issue. All 3 cards had graphical artifacts and ran fairly hot. Went with a 2060S and it runs much cooler and no artifacts.

Even though the graphics card met the minimum amount for the Oculus, it would still freeze and the picture wasn't always the best.

This is a good card that gives decent performance for its cost (which is inflated at present because of crypto-currency mining creating a high demand for GPUs). Yes, AMD cards use more power than NVIDIA but it comes with other advantages; really, though, it's like comparing applies to oranges. Learn the pros/cons each brand offers and pick the one that's right for you. I have several of these in a computer that I use for mining when not gaming. The memory is Samsung and overclocks reasonably well, though I wish it could be pushed a little further. The cards also underclock and undervolt very well for power savings. I'll probably pick up a couple more to complete my build.

Great starter graphic card for a $1000 or less PC build. If going above 1080P 60HZ this graphics card is NOT for you.

I've had this GPU for less than 4 months. Pushed it hard 1 time by playing Forza Horizon 4 for almost 2 hours, mind you the unit never reached above 76C, and screen randomly went blank. Looked and the GPU wasn't getting any power all of a sudden. All other components on the MOBO have power, tried using another PCI-E slot and still no power. Took another GPU from a friend and it fired right up. I've contacted XFX for warranty support and it's been 48 hrs and not one reply from them. Extremely disappointed! Should have taken the money I spent on this and gone with something else! If I can't get a response from XFX, hopefully Best Buy will stand by the product and exchange it for me.

Had problems after about a month with running hot and loud. Installed a new fan which seemed to help. As time went on, had to take computer cover off. Intermittently would cause computer to shut down. After using for 3 months, completely stopped working. Don't waste your money.

I brought this GPU for myself as a Upgrade to my current machine and after receiving the card it worked just fine for two months and on the third(just recently) it started to overheat like crazy and crash most if not all of my games that never crashes before and at one point I even blue screened. If you want a budget build gaming pc don’t choose this GPU at all

I have a 2010 Mac Pro that I wanted to upgrade, so I purchased this card on 6/29/2019 and installed it that day. The card failed yesterday, 9/4/2019 after just 14 months of service. The previous card I had that came with the Mac Pro STILL WORKS after 10 years, but this thing? Nope. Don't buy it, and if you do, don't expect it to last that long.
