Good power, great sound, lots of surround settings

Easy setup, great sound in a great looking package

Went to local Best Buy to purchase a receiver. Trying to set up a home theater system in my living room. Was unsure of what to purchase and the sales representative tried to persuade me to purchase a Pioneer receiver. From the reviews I've seen this receiver works well and I was able to catch it on sale for $275! Haven't hooked it up yet but I'm looking forward to completing my system.

my only complaint is that I didn't do enough research on this model, after I purchased it on a recommendation from Yamaha, I discovered that it did not have a receptacle in the rear to power my subwoofer.like my old receiver , now I have to remember to power my sub-woofer up and down manually instead of it being done automatically. other than then (my error) it is perfect.

Good value. Got it at clearance price. Relative easy to set up.

The reputation of Yamaha does not diminish with the quality of my new AV receiver. There is a slight issue with the engagement of audio. There is about a 5 second delay after video has come on, before the audio comes on. I don't know if there is an adjustment for this or not.

I purchased this reciever mostly because of the name and it was on sale. Worked great and had quality sound for about a year then started having issues and had to reset it via YouTube videos. At a year and a half now and the reset is not working. I'm very unpleased with the longevity of this product and would not recommend it. It now will only turn on go into protected mode and then turn off. I have disconnected all speakers and tried it many times to reset will only the same results. Not the old school yamaha that lasted 10 years like I thought it would be.

This receiver has pretty much everything you need, including Dolby ATMOS, which sounds amazing when connected to overhead speakers. The downside is it could use more HDMI inputs, as when connecting 4 or more devices is difficult.

This Yamaha is of excellent quality and functionality, and has a large number of capabilities, such as Multi-zone audio, Multicast wireless multi-room audio, and Audio Return Channel (ARC) functions. This is the best AVR I have owned.

basically this receiver has very good stereo separation but it is very thin sounding. changing the EQ setting didn't make it sound much better. it was easy to setup but I did not like the sound so I returned it.

Read many reviews and was happy with this Yamaha receiver purchase. Like the Yamaha app that allows total control in addition to remote. System was a challenge to initially set up but once I read manual online it answered the technical setup concerns I had.

Great receiver for a great price. Doesn't get much better, unless you pay much more! Only gripe is that AirPlay is for audio only. Don't get rid of your AppleTV just yet!

The only problem is in getting it to interface with other electronics. TV, BluRay, etc. With only 1 HDMI output, the TV HDMI can't tell where the source is coming from.

Previously owned an Onkyo that I had to repair several times. This Yamaha receiver rocks! Been using it daily since we purchased it with zero problems. Thanks Yamaha!
