Love this system so far. Setup was easy and the sound is great. My only comment is that there should be a more detail section in the manual/directions that talks about all the various sound options and how to set up different listening experiences depending on content and the user's preference. Had to figure that out on my own but it wasn't that hard.

Best surround sound. Have hooked up to TV, playstation, Xbox and record player. Highly recommend. Great sound and so easy to use.

If you piece together a system you can get higher quality for cheaper but as someone who had no clue what they wanted but just wanted a decent system for the livingroom of a small house this is great. The subwoofer is weak but everything else is nice and loud.

Good sound and easy setup; pre-labeled buttons can cause confusion when switching inputs.

I purchased this set to replace an old Bose system I had purchased back in 2002. I had a Bose Lifestyle System 25 (double cube speakers). It was great while it lasted. I kept checking the various "package" systems and ended up getting this one. I had it down to two "packages" and a friend of mine said I would like Yamaha better than the [other brand]. He is an audiophile and makes a lot of his own speakers and things. My only dilemma was....would the Bose double cube speakers work with an after market receiver. Well, I stripped the "rca" type jacks and there were two speaker wires that I stripped off. The biggest problem was that both speaker wires were copper so there was no way to tell which was positive/negative. I connected each speaker separately and switched the wires a couple of times but could not hear the difference. So....for those of you out there who say you can't connect your old Bose double cube speakers up to an after market receiver....I did and it sounds really good. At least for my movies and 5.1 surround sound. My wife and I are happy so far with the new receiver/bass and my old Bose double cube speakers. I left the Yamaha speakers that came with this system wrapped and in the Styrofoam cartons for protection and stored them for when I might need them in the future. The only reason I gave this a 4 star rating is I had to call and get some help with the HDMI connection settings (the menu) to get my TV to work with the receiver. I left my blue ray player and my wife's Tivo connected to the tv. If it was just the equipment, I would give it a 5-star, but the set-up was not as easy for this "old guy".

This is a perfect match for my use. It is priced right and gives really good surround sound. It is not a high end system but has all the features one could want without spending 3 times as much. It has individual adjustments for each speaker and not just a blanket overall adjustment. It was easy to run wires but I think they could have provided a bit more wire. Over all I am very pleased with this Surround Sound in a box and is much better then the Samsung surround system that I had previously.

This system is outstanding. Our living room was pre wired when we purchased our home so we wanted to utilize it. Instead of going with a bluetooth or in ceiling option, we got some mounts and used the wiring with this system. EXTREMELY impressed with the sound quality and we can actually experience movies like we unfortunately weren't able to due to the pandemic this year. Our living room is pretty large and this system shakes it! Would highly recommend.
