Used to have a Yamaha 7.1 Dolby system, which had very subtle sound from some speakers that didn’t seem like much. New house doesnt have ceiling speakers, so switched to an LG sound bar and LG remote rears. Was pretty impressed for the amount of sound and the Bluetooth for music was easy. Didn’t realize how much I would miss the 7.1. Also didn’t realize how much better a 5.1 speaker system would sound than the sound bar. The 5.1 Yamaha has impressive sound for very light speakers. The only negative is Yamaha should be able to use Bluetooth technology to make the rears wireless. The manual offers an alternative setup diagram that doesn’t require wires across your room, but you lose the immersive feel of movement of sound around the room. This package has plenty of speaker wire included, so the mod so to tuck the rears into our a/v console when watching regular tv, then “roll out” the rears behind us for movies.

Clear, crisp sound and relatively easy set up and operation. It makes a great addition to any home theater system.

Great compact system. Good surround and subwoofer.gives the theater sensation. I will recommend this product to family and friends alike who are looking for quality music and movies in a living room or basement space.

Very nice quality, easy to use. The remote could be better as I have a column in the media room and I have to get around it for the remote to face the amplifier in order to work but will Need to get a C4 universal remote anyway

All is excellent, after calibrating the receiver, then starting over, because I had to take all of the speaker wires out to switch the receiver from 8 Ohm to 6 Ohm - to match the included speakers (Why wasn't it defaulted already set to 6 Ohm to match the included speakers???) You can only find out how to change the receiver ohm using the online manual - not the Quick Setup Guide. This is a highly recommended setup in a small room about 9ftx12ft, not sure how good it would perform in a larger room. Paid $219 (YES!) for mine through SlickDeals post which was YMMV.

Nice complete system for our small room. I haven't really turned it up to max volume but the sound has numerous options for the type of program you are viewing. The sub-woofer and speakers all match upwell during set up of viewer locator position. I'm very pleased

This sound system changes the way I enjoy music! I LOVE GETTING LOST IN THE BASS! Also great price and easy setup and bluetooth for my sxm!

I’m happy with how the unit works, I can start to use something that’s on a different hdmi input and it will automatically switch to that input which simplifies dealing with a bunch of remotes. As far as sounds quality goes the only way I would be happier is if I would have spent 4 times as much so I do believe the unit is worth the money.

I love it! The sound is unbelievably crisp! Watching movies to listening to music, incredible! Even Bluetooth from music library on my laptop is fantastic! Great buy!

Overall, a great system, easy to set up, and sound quality is great. Works great with my directv universal remote. Easy to follow instructions, but if you have a big living room, included speaker wire is not enough.

This was one of my best purchases of 2020. I use it daily and have 4 consoles, my PC and TV all connected to it. Its been great and completely changed my living room.

One will go crazy trying to find a perfect item these days. After having a soundbar for some time I decided to get something a little more customizable with the spacing and the direction in which it points. This system sounds amazing for the price and now I immersed in a full surround sound. Hooked up my Xbox directly to it and was blown away by the sound in certain games. If you're looking to get a good system with great sound, look no further.

This is a great beginner home theater system or for the Master Bedroom, apartment, dorm room, or any smaller room. Nice overall sound and the fact that it comes with all of the speakers makes it a really good buy, especially for the price.

Obviously, if your shopping this product your are looking for a better sound system than a soundbar and aren't willing to buy a high-end receiver and separate speakers. This system may be just what you are looking for, it sounds great overall and gets plenty loud with good dynamic range. If you are an audiophile you will probably be a little disappointed. I do wish it had a better e.q. and display, this is a pretty bare-bones receiver and you get what you pay for. Yamaha does make quality speakers and audio components and these live up to the price point.

Very easy to set up, fantastic sound. I would have given it 5 stars had there been an auxiliary hook-up in the back so I could connect my outdoor speakers.

I love this system, the sound is great. For the price at first I thought I was getting just a okay to a good system,but I love this system has more power than i thought. For less than $500 can't beat it.

Excellent. Sounds awesome in my 15x15 living room. Yamaha All day!!! Can't beat the price.

I’m not a super sound snob. So I’m not speaking for that. But it’s loud and clear. Took me about an hour or so to set up. Just tedious cutting the wire, stripping the ends, connecting it all. And then I had to run it around my couch. Nothing out of the ordinary set up wise. Ran the sound calibration thingy. It took a couple minutes to go step by step and for it to finish. Now I’m watching some comic book movie and it sounds awesome. I can’t imagine this could be beat for the price. Now I just need to see how long it lasts. I bought the 4 year warranty. If it gets me through 4 years I think I’d be satisfied enough.

This was an upgrade to an older surround sound system. This had everything and it sounds great. Very issue to setup and start using. Adding components was a breeze and I couldn’t be happier with the sound quality.

THIS THEATER SYSTEM IS FANTASTIC!!!! It was worth every penny. It makes everything in my house sound great. Movies, music from my phone....anything. I will have this system for a long time. Would definitely recommend.
