Just what I needed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced non-HDMI receiver. Worked perfect out of the box. Easy set-up. Has just the features I wanted and nothing more. Connected TV, cable, Blu-Ray and Ethernet. Internet menu tedious, but usable.

Wow was that a smart choice. It was super easy to set up, start up, and the sound is great.

Within the first hour of set up I was ready to return the unit as "dead on arrival" because there was no sound when I turned it on. I am "old school" and did not expect the set up process to include accessing a menu to raise the internal unit volume from the minimum setting. This was not mentioned on the quick set up document. It may be that not all units are set to "Volume Off" on leaving the factory but mine was totally off. Have an HDMI cable available for setup in case it is needed to see the menu. Otherwise, so far, I like the receiver. It will take time for me to learn how to use all the features.

nice receiver

It runs 8 speakers plus two subwoofers at 50 to 75% volume all day long. It replaced a 20 yr old pioneer and there is no comparison. It gives a very clean crisp sound for the price range.
