This Receiver is very powerful and has great sound

My old receiver just died unexpectedly so I didn't have a big budget to work with. I ran up to Best Buy and found this receiver. Yamaha is brand that I have had good experiences with and the price was right. I was able to very quickly hook up and program my entire entertainment system which contains a laptop and multiple gaming systems. The programming was a breeze when compared with my old receivers. The sound is great as well as the picture from the HDMI passthrough. The only reason I can see that some people may not prefer this model is that it is only a 5.1 setup.

The Yamaha receiver has a good feature when setting up your speakers and hooking up your DVD and TV is not hard . the only thing that was not so good was getting my remote to sink to the receiver.

Receiver worked well for 2 weeks, then speakers started buzzing and would randomly shut off. Was sent in for service work. Lots of features and inputs.

Great sound. Easy to integrate with the other home theater systems!

Decent system - good power. If your limited to a. 5.1 system the amp will still work as you upgrade TVs. Easy to connect you music to amp.

I have older pre-amp & amplifier That cost $$$ and still sound pretty good. I purchased the Yamaha Receiver for $ and it sounds every bit as good with more controls and applications. I bought this as a secondary source for a bedroom, and I am very pleased with the performance.

This receiver was not on my purchase list, but on the advice of the Best Buy rep, I checked it out and was convinced that my viewing would be greatly enhanced by it's purchase. I was not mistaken. This receiver makes my matched Boston Acoustics sound system sound like it never did before.I highly recommend it to anyone updating their system to today's technology.

I only use this because of the 2 channel option. I have it hooked up to 2 Bose 301 bookshelf speakers and they sound amazing. More than enough power and super clean.

Can't beat the reliability of Yamaha receivers. If it's anything like previous models I've owned, it will last for the next 30 years. Great connectivity options, a wide array of audio functions and a handsome remote to boot. Can't go wrong here.

The sound is great and the unit does not get hot! The set up with no problem.

Powerful, and easy to use, and set up. The display is easy to read. And I haven't even been able to turn it up all the way (too loud!). The only downfall- the USB port in the front will read a USB card or an Iphone; but not an Android phone.

This receiver would not work with my old surround sound because it did not have pass through for my subwoofer so I had to purchase a sound bar and disconnect my surround sounds.

Good price. Easy set-up good controls. Strong cabinet and hardware.

This receiver was bought for a game room home theater. I am now considering it for the living room because of its upgraded features( from my 12 year old receiver) and great sound. It is nice to have all the hdmi ports and inputs.

For the price you can't go wrong. The only issue is occasionally I need to turn it off and on because the sound stops. It's not during play but on initial start of it and my PS3.

Easy to set up. Sounds great with my existing speakers. I am using this at my outdoor pool area.

Bought this for my parents. They only need tbe surround a d not all of the fancy extras on most other receivers...so tbis was a perfect matcb for tbeir wants and needs.
