Excellent product for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace my 15+ year old Kenwood 5.1 receiver and I couldn't be happier so far after having it for a few weeks. I wanted HDMI inputs/output and this delivered. I run my comcast cable box, samsung blu-ray, and nintendo Wii through it on the way to my LG 60 inch TV. Install was straight forward and operation is the same. I love automatic speaker balance feature where you hook up the supplied mic and put it in the prime listening position and press a button and 1 minute later all the speakers are calibrated. Slick. Sure beats doing it manually. Remote is very nice with several inputs with dedicated buttons. Great receiver for $250 and Yamaha is a quality brand. I use an external manual speaker selector switch for zone contolr, so can't comments on that feature because I don't use it. Volume is displayed on the TV when being modified.

Great quality receiver for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really great quality receiver! I have always trusted the Yamaha brand name. I mainly purchased it because of the 4 HDMI ports. I have my television and cable box hooked up to it and the sound and picture quality is great! I'm very happy that I made this purchase!

Great Receiver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an entry level receiver for my home surround sound system it works great. The setup is fairly easy although the interface for the receiver can be confusing.

Nice looking/entry level receiver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would consider this a pretty good entry level receiver. I would have really liked for this model to have had the HDMI standby pass-through (allows HDMI switching without powering up receiver), otherwise it's a nice entry-level receiver. ***Be aware that if your planning on investing a lot in a receiver, that you should research and educate yourself regarding the "HDCP 2.2." Technology. You don't want to invest a lot in a receiver that is not HDCP 2.2-compliant and will not support copy-protected 4K video content.

The sound with this receiver is incredible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound with this receiver is simply awesome. I'd give it a 5-star rating if not for some echoing sound on some channels or shows. This is a minimal problem compared to the sound with movies (DVD or Movie channels), especially for the price. We considered the 477 model, but for an additional $150 we feel we got a great bargain with the 377.

Close but not quite...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to take this receiver back because only 2 of the 5 connections on the receiver for my speaker wires were large enough to accept the gage of the speaker wire I use. For two of the speakers (front left and right) the receiver had the connections that unscrew revealing large holes for the speaker wire to be inserted. Then you just tighten up the wire nut. For the other 3 speakers there were the small tabs that you push down revealing a small hole where the speaker wire goes. These smaller holes were not big enough to fit my speaker wire. Otherwise it seemed like a fine receiver.

A good value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking to replace an old receiver that died. The RX-V377BL has good features, high ratings and fit my budget. The Yamaha app and YPAO microphone made it easy to setup and I'm happy with my purchase.

Fantastic unit for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially purchased the cheaper Pioneer VSX-524-K but I returned it back to the store within 10 days & replaced it with this Yamaha unit. This unit is very easy to set-up (connected 5 speakers + 1 subwoofer), clear instructions on the manual & so much easier to apply/change different settings via the remote compared to the previous Pioneer unit. For the price, it is a very decent unit - both in looks & performance. It was about $50 more than the Pioneer, but it was well worth it & am very happy with my purchase.

Great, inexpensive AV receiver
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to set up a conference room so AV media could be viewed and heard in multiple ways while keeping it simple for the employees to use. This receiver works perfectly. I use it to switch between multiple PCs with output to a projector, plus a Blu-ray player, and other items. Does the job perfectly.

Real good for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm happy with this purchase, the sound quality is good for the money. I like to listen primarily in 2.1, 3.1, and 5.1 but this receiver will not allow all three options. In order to use 3.1 (2 fronts, center, subwoofer) you need to turn surround off in the menu. That bugs me because you can switch between speaker modes and they left that one out for some reason. Confirmed w Yamaha support. On screen menu is nice and sound equalizer setup is good. Hard to beat for $250.

Excellent product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am quite impressed with this product for the price I paid for it. I am able to hook up XBox, Satellite TV receiver, and my bluray player to it. I am using it with KEF speakers and Samsung 65 LED 240Hz TV. The overall output is very impressive.

Great item
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this unit to replace a 20ish year old Sony that still worked great but lacked HDMI inputs. This has exceeded my expectations. Have been able to hook up a PS3 and PS4 plus my cable box with an HDMI port left over. I love that it auto tunes to an input when I switch components. (ie. switches to the PS4 when I turn it on). I consider myself fairly tech save and this was super easy to set up and have running out of the box.

Will not work with Comcast X2 or X5 remotes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was quite pleased by this receiver, until I tried to use it with the Comcast Xfinity X2 remote for the X1 cable box. None of the codes I found worked, so I called Comcast. The agent could not help, so I asked for her supervisor to call me the next day. He said he had thoroughly researched this, and found that there is no code that will turn this receiver on and off. As a last resort, I picked up the new X5 Comcast remote, with the same result. For me, this was a show stopper. I returned it and bought a SONY receiver which works fine with the X2 remote.

Great Sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old receiver was dying and the right channel would turn itself off and on. I finally broke down and had to get another receiver. Sal was very helpful again at the Mid Rivers Best Buy. He helped us pick out a great receiver in our price range. Hook up was a breeze and the sound is amazing!

Cut one corner they should not have
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My only complaint about an otherwise really good receiver is this: the speaker terminals for the surround speakers are cheesy and small.. They cannot handle 18 gauge or larger wires. I had to trim back the copper on my existing surround speaker wires to get them fit. I can't figure why they cut this one corner.

Versatile and easy to use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this particular model because it had the most input/output options. I had a little trouble setting it up because the instructions could use some improvement. I had to take the AM antenna to Best Buy to have someone assemble it because there were unclear pictures and no words. I was attaching it to built-in wall speakers and not a surround sound system and it was unclear from the instructions which connections to use. But in the end it all came out OK and I'm very happy with the purchase.

Rather Underpowered
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At this price level you want maximum bang for the buck. This barely has 70 watts RMS and not a lot of extra features. I would go with the Pioneer VSX 524, same price but more power. I traded the Yamaha for the Pioneer and have been very happy with it.

SHOCKED!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this receiver on 5/12/2015. Setup to place on 5/13/2015. Product stopped working after 1 hour. I could not believe it. I have a Pioneer receiver which is about 18 years old and it still blows the roof off the house. I expected more from this receiver/model RX-V333BL. Will return today and try something else.
