I read the online reviews and decided to purchase this receiver for my entertainment center . Great sound and just what I needed to add with my TV

User friendly with a vast amount of options. Easily adjustable with all controls right on the remote. Being able to control the Polk Audio speakers purchased with this Yamaha has been freaky. I can do so much more now than I could with my Pioneer I purchased a year ago.

I have a basic home theater setup, and this fits the bill. In addition, it has extra features such as Bluetooth, DVD, Gaming, and other inputs to make this a very attractive mid-level receiver. If you are looking for independent dual zones, this model does not fit the bill.

Great unit, powerfull lots of features for the money

Yamaha nails it again. For an intro system with the right combination a speakers you can make it rock the house. I use it daily for netflix, dvd, and Direct Tv inputs and is has stood out for the price range. Not too complicated, but enough to tune in the sweet spot.

The sound is great, the true surround sound works perfectly. My only complaint is that occasionally when you are using the Bluetooth to listen to music, the songs sound strange, hard to describe what's happening. It does not happen all the time, and would not stop me from recommending the system.

Replaced my 14 year old Sony home theater receiver with this Yamaha. Really like it. Setup relatively easy. Some patience required. Sound quality much improved. Like the available "sound stages." Have used it for over one year. No problems.

This system was easy to set up, and has great sound. I would like more audio inputs as I have a reel to reel and cassette tape deck that I would like output feeds (for recording), but there is but one. I am able to split this with a selector, but would have preferred a direct connection.

There are models with more features but this one has all you need for a basic a/v system. It handles a smart tv, blu ray, sound bar and sub woofer with out any problems. Very easy to set up and Yamaha support is great, should you need it.

Our surround sound amp stopped working and we needed a replacement. Perfect fit; speaker connections and inputs very easy to access. Set up was simple. Worked as expected! Hope that it last's as long as our Yamaha Stereo receiver amp did!

I was not expecting much from this receiver at this price point. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it exceeded my expectations. In place of all the bells and whistles, you get clear crisp sound. Just what I was looking for!

It's a good introductory receiver that does what you generally need it to do. Not for the true audiophile or cinemaphile, but if you're looking for something to blast surround sound and want it loud - this is a receiver for you.

This receiver (please note, it's a receiver, not a surround sound system) is absolutely phenomenal for the price. I got it on sale and am very pleased. The sound is crisp and clear, the interface is very intuitive and straight forward.

I'm by no means a sound snob. This receiver does the job at a great price. If you want basic surround sound with your home theater and are not the type to spend thousands on your equipment, then this box will do the job.

My main receiver is Pioneer Elite costed me around $1,200. I got this Yamaha, did not need all the functions, it sounds great~ I got this for my man cave, great value~

I upgraded and older model Yamaha receiver that the hdmi board had failed on. I'm and happy with this purchase. It seems to be the same watt rating and has a few nice things like Bluetooth and auto sound setup
