This thing sounds great for a budget 5.1 receiver. There are a seemingly endless selection on sound processing options available in all the classic arena, theater, etc plus several 5.1 selections. Every channel comes out clear and works well in my home theater space. I suggest you take the time to play with all of the sound options to get the best sound possible for you.

I was going to purchase a sound bar when a salesman asked me a few questions about my environment and he told me that the receiver would be the better option. I have several other sounders in other rooms but in-wall speakers in the room that I was considering the sounder for. So glad I went with his advice and the receiver is amazing what a movie experience!

Please don't laugh, but I am just now getting 5.1 sound. I was stepping up from 2.1 analog and it's new technology for me. It took me a while of going back and forth from the product to the manual and I hit a few "hook up" road blocks which were not any fault of Yamaha. I have the basics and the sound is wonderful, but there are still features I have yet to try out.

I got tired of my front speakers not working on my previous receiver and so I had to break down and get a new one. I did shop by price, looking for something inexpensive, but I know Yamaha is a good name, if not one of the newest brands out there. Easy set up, I like the bass, and my front speakers (30 years old) sound great once again. Nice replacement.

Enjoying the receiver after one month of use. The interface is very user friendly. Good sound and the Bass Enhancer is a great feature that you can really notice; which comes in handy since I am using it with outdoor speakers without a sub woofer. My only disappointment was the Bluetooth connection: I was hoping for a stronger and longer-reaching Bluetooth range. But it works fine if I leave my phone in place, near the receiver.

I actually bought this receiver on the advice of a Best Buy associate. He told me that I was under utilizing my last one and I did not need to spend the amount to replace my last one with an exact newer model. He suggested I buy this one, and I must say that we are very happy with how easy it was to install and the quality it puts out! I would recommend to anyone!

This receiver offers Dolby 5.1 functionality with the 4K (HDCP 2.2 and HDR) and 3D support that you need at a good price. It provides Dolby TrueHD decoding as well as DTS-HD. It has Bluetooth playback with compressed music enhancer for MP3 files. It also has auto calibration for your 5.1 speaker setup. It's a very good receiver for the price.

I bought this as an open box item. I use it in my master bedroom mainly for TV. I also connected my iPod via Bluetooth and use the sleep function at night. Having an on screen menu is nice. I have it set up so I never have to touch it unless I can't find the remote and want to listen to music. The surround sound is perfect for what I want.

Yamaha has been making this receiver for 15 years! Every year the model number changes (351,352,353,354). You always know what you're getting with yamaha. This unit is great for a basic receiver to connect an old Bose cube set of speakers to. No surprises, it worked as expected. 60year old couple has no problems using it.
