This receiver has the "ARC" HDMI out to TV that we needed to take advantage of the 4K TV we purchased. It was very easy to set up and so far works great.

The detachable microphone and automated level balancing software built into this receiver made setup a snap. I was impressed that by simply positioning the the microphone at the sweet spot where I watch from the software dialed the levels in accurately. The discrete amplifiers also added a depth to the sound that I wasn't hearing in the Sony that this Yamaha replaced. Very happy with this modest upgrade.

set up of the yamaha was easy. the sound is excellent. I fully would recommend this receiver.

This reciever has been fantastic for my new stereo system! Easy to set up, and my favorite part is the Spotify Connect support, which allows me to control what is playing from my phone. Also works great with my turntable, though a phono preamp much be purchased separately.

So far its a great improvment from my older yamah ive had for several years now witch still works great just needed more wattage.

Great sound and connectivity. Pretty user-friendly with a little learning curve.

If you have good speakers and a subwoofer you will have Theater sound with this receiver. It is complicated to hook up as all equipment in my entertainment center connects to this receiver this is one that if you are not really into electronics it is well worth using the Geek Squad.

This receiver has done everything I've asked of it so far. Plenty of HDMI inputs, plenty of watts per channel, and easy speaker setup using YPAO make it ideal for a home theatre set up. My only complaint is the visual interface is not very elegant, but that is minor compared to the sound quality it produces.

the Yamaha RX-V479BL receiver is an excellent product. Meets all our needs

I purchased this as an upgrade from an older receiver. The controls are simpler then the older system and the six HDMI ports come in very handy.

I previously had a Onkyo and decided to try a different brand as I experienced issues with the HDMI inputs. So far very happy with new receiver.

Receiver does not automatically changer to new output: i.e. from blue-ray to tv to radio; you must change the 'scene' manually I haven't used with more powerful speakers yet, but works wonderuflly with smaller bookshelves. If initial inputs are correct you will have no problems.
