Found I still need to use this unit's remote because it had no way to accept control of zone 2 speakers from my harmony remote.

I had hoped it would do all I wanted it to do and it has not. The second zone does not function as advertised. You can't use the Airplay or Satellite radio features it boasts without buying additional parts. Also the only manual it comes with is on CD, and my new computers do not have CD drives so that makes the manual useless.

    Phenomenal Receiver!

Let me make one thing perfectly clear - The only reason I gave this receiver 5 stars is because they would not let me give it 10 Stars. There seems to be a lack of reviews of this receiver since this is a new unit. I had looked at all major competitors and I can say with confidence that they could easily have charged 4x more for this unit. Have you ever watched a movie like Star Wars with great special effects or a music video with heavy instrumentation and tried to hear and understand what the vocalist was saying or exactly what the whisper quiet voices were saying to each other without stressing yourself to read their lips because you could not hear them! PROBLEM SOLVED! YAMAHA'S DIALOGUE CONTROL insures you will understand everything that is said onscreen!!! Imagine sitting in your seat with your ultra-responsive remote control - your listening to Jedi Knights played Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor conversing and they talk so low in comparison to effects you can not understand them - what do you do? If you have the Yamaha RX-V675BL you simply press the option button on the ultra-responsive remote control and boost the center channel mid-range DIALOGUE to any of (3) different levels! All of a sudden voices are crystal clear - vocalists are understandable! When was the last time you had that much control over your receiver so fast and easy! This is only the tip of iceberg! Simple accurate easy setup! Great GUI - more importantly you can control most functions from the remote control combined with the informative front display of the unit - so you do not have to constantly shift to onscreen GUI! FAST & Easy to use. No one else in the industry can offer the quality, simplicity and ease of use with awesome rear panel connectivity like Yamaha! Great sound and ease of use and flexibility with full rear panel digital & analog connectivity, for an incredible price. The only cons, if there are any, is that WI-FI adapter is extra - I believe it is about $80. You can easily by a Network LAN Ethernet 25 foot cord for cheap - plug it into the rear panel and modem - problem solved! My recommendation - buy with confidence - you will not get more receiver for the money anywhere!

    Awesome Receiver

After my Denon receiver blew up after 2.5 years..I decided to go back to Yamaha. I have had Yamaha receivers in the past and have had no problems with them. The RX V675 does not disappoint. Had it running out of the box in 30 mins. The 125 watts per channel sounded breath taking on my Definitive Technology speaker system. I have my X Box One connected to it, and it makes my walls in my basement shake! Has 14 plus sound options to choose from including DTS. Smaller and light weight amp fits perfectly into my stereo cabinet. My only slight negative is that it has to be hard wired into the internet. It has no wireless connectivity. This can be over come by plugging USB cable from I Phone directly into receiver.

    Pretty good receiver

Bought it during black friday sale and its my first av receiver. I am not an audiophile but sound quality is very good. I never owned any other receiver before so i can't really compare it to something else out there. But everyone has great things to say about Yamaha so it was my first choice. Setup was little bit tricky to understand for someone like me who was doing it for first time but once i figured it out it was all good. my only complaint is that it has no wifi. I mean everything these days comes with bluetooth and wifi enabled and for this much money i feel like inbuilt wifi should have been great addition. apart from that its pretty good receiver. I think its very well rated and a very decent receiver. I would definitely recommend to others for this budget range.

One of the top receivers for a reasonable price

This receiver probably has the most amount of inputs you can imagine. So for people with limited input selection on their tvs, this receiver (or any Yamaha for that matter) can help you there. Excellent sound provided you like that warmer Hi-Fi sound. If you have excellent tower speakers, this guy has a Pure Direct mode that makes any source sound extremely nice. Easy to use Front Panel. Remote can control Bluray Players due to its smart control. Very easy to understand Graphic User Interface which appears on-screen. Easy to setup to network. Airplay works really well and HDMI switching is a lot faster than on most receivers. It is just a shame that there is no wifi capability, only ethernet connections (which in my opinion is more secure and more appropriate for a receiver that is so focused on sound over convenience).

I bought this open box receiver on a recent visit. I was looking at a sonos solution for my home but this receiver, even with needss wifi and bluetooth upgrades was a steal. I'm very happy to find a cost efffective way to manage my music at home.

    difficult to set up

Overall this is the most difficult AV receiver I have ever tried to set up. It does not help matters that Yamaha decided not to include a paper instruction book. This forces one to go back and forth between and computer and the receiver. Very annoying. Really for the price a actual intruction manual should de included. Many features I have yet to be able to use. I have been unable to get Multi -zone to set up properly, I will have to add new firmware for SiriusXM. Streaming from the Airplay was a complicated process to set up. ( This was most likely a issue with getting a network established.) Overall I am excited to see so many features available to me. The downside is set up is lenghty and painful. Also the remote buttons are very small and will most likely not be a simple "touch" operation like many other remotes I have used. My previous Onkyo was much easier to set up and use. This is a pain to set up !!!
