Software was defective
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The receiver could not be connected to the internet. After multiple failures personally, I hired Geek Squad who spent over two hours trying to get the unit connected before declaring the unit defective. Other than the internet failure, the receiver was impressive.

One Complaint
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good quality receiver. I’ve been able to integrate it wirelessly with my computer and devices for music. Sounds great through my Polk speakers. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to integrate it with my Samsung surround sound system and LG television for audio.

So far, so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Still getting it up and running. What is working is just great. But it’s too soon to give a conclusive review. If I am able, I’ll update this in a couple of weeks. I won’t recommend it until I have it working completely

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's $349.98...ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This is a $600 AVR. I am a Yamaha fan from way back. Their Receivers are 2nd to none. Did you see that this has Dolby Vision 4k pass thru? How does Yamaha deliver that plus ATMOS & DTS-X for $349.98? My only caveat is : This receiver is 5.2.2 in ATMOS mode & 7.2 in DTS HDMA. If I were to go with the new ATMOS or DTS-X surround format? I'd want 7.2.2 minimum for my layout, that gives the listener a 7.2 surround sound foundation & 2 ATMOS FX ceiling channels vs a 5.2 foundation. I know, it seems like the difference isn't detectable, but it is. If I'm to go ATMOS, then I want the real deal and I believe an ATMOS setup with a 7.2 foundation gets me closer to the real cinematic sound I am seeking in the 1st place. Knowing Yamaha as well as I do, this $349.98 unit will destroy it's competition. ~ peace
