Impressive midrange receiver

Powers Klipsch setup and signal for Sony 3d TV. Floor standing speakers bi-amped. Great, clean power with a clear improvement in sound. Future-proof with 2.2 compliance and dolby atmos ability. Tons of individual settings for those like myself that like to tweak manually. I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. With this receiver you get more. Auditioned multiple receivers in person and the pure clean sound from this one stood out. My wife even noticed an immediate difference. Recommend without hesitation.

Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased an entire movie room through magnolia, with a dennon receiver as my first choice. The model I chose was discontinued so they substituted this Yamaha. Initially loved it...for a day. Then it literally fried itself and geek squad had to come out, try to reboot it, and ultimately they replaced with another dennon. May have been a fluke, but that was my experience. It was hooked up by the magnolia team.

good receiver, easy to set up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Yamaha 773 that died, I tried a Pioneer but found it was not easy to set up and I could not get the wifi to work, so I went back to Yamaha, it was easy to set up since I had a Yamaha before, the remote is the same for the new and older model. The 850 has more features than the 773, but I can not hear any difference in sound quality.

An essential piece to my home theater system

I bought a Samsung 55" 4k UHD curved screen TV along with a Samsung 4k UHD Blu-ray DVD player. This receiver rounded out my set up. It's easy to set up and navigate the various features. I put the APP on my tablet which is very simple and easy to use. The sound and video quality are second to none. I bought my first Yamaha amp and pre-amp in 1984 and haven't looked back.
