    Another great Yamaha

Yamaha receivers just keep getting better. Set up is reasonably easy but a small amount of manual tweaking of speaker levels is needed to account for imperfect hearing. The AI feature works well with most sources but some TV channels with poor audio sound a little better with AI turned off. There is more than enough sound stage choices to satisfy just about every listener and audio source. Right now I'm using vintage Polk 12,7 and 5 in a 9.2 layout, subs are Polk 12 and Klipsch 12 both powered. There is plenty of power to drive the 9 channels. I've had many Yamaha receivers and most are still in daily use at friends homes, as they don't upgrade as frequently as I do. Thru the years I've tried other brands but they just don't hold a candle to the Yamaha. I you want to upgrade to full Atmos sound this is the ticket by far.

My first receiver I bought was a Yamaha and ever since I’ve always been a fan of Yamaha receivers. So, when it came time to upgrade to a surround sound receiver Yamaha was first choice. This receiver did not disappoint. It has that same Yamaha quality that made me a life long fan.

I selected this unit after extensive research as an engineer. The Yamaha unit is capable of providing great audio/video handling as well as a plethora of settings/controls to customize your system Also possesses a perfectly acceptable default set of selections for those not interested in customization. you will never regret buy this Yamaha receiver!

Works great and sounds great. Have had no issues with video or audio going through this unit. The setup walk through is simple enough and the audio quality is great especially with a Blu ray dolby Atmos or DTS X track. It is heavy and built like a tank so it should have a good lifespan.

Had RX-V3800 that I had for 10 years, still working great but decided to upgrade due to the extra features for compatibility of a new 4k tv. Have had it close to 2 months, but still learning all the new features & capabilities. Would have given it 5 stars but haven't had it long enough to compare with my former Yamaha.

Good receiver so far. My only complaint and not sure if it's my LG OLED CX tv or the receiver, but half the time the audio does not come on when I first turn on the television. I have to turn the receiver back off then back on and the is resolved. Other than the above, the sound has been great.

This is my 3rd Yamaha unit. I needed to upgrade to the new 4k system to accommodate the new products. The Yamaha Aventage series are great performers. This unit will give you plenty of power for a 9.2 channel system, and with built-in wifi and Bluetooth included you won't be disappointed.

YamahaRX A 2080 replaces a Yamaha RX-A 2000. Yamaha keeps getting better. I have this receiver paired up with Def Tec 9080x towers and SVS SB 16. It sounds great. If your into home theater you won’t to wrong with this receiver.

It's always a bit scary to purchase a brand new expensive receiver hoping it will last you years but this Yamaha rxa2080 is well worth the risk. Just got it today and even though it took me about 4 hours to get the sound to my liking, it will blow you away! It turns out that it is best to turn off all of the unnecessary processing to get the most out of this reciever. It brings motion and life to your speakers with little effort especially when you have efficient speakers like Klipsch. Highly recommend this reciever if you are willing to dish out the money. It was between this and the denon avrx4500h... I dont really care much for features especially when most of the time I dont even touch them or I turn them off so that's why I went with the Yamaha rxa2080. Great buy!

Love it and glad I found it at Best Buy!! There were none available at the the Yamaha dealer in Winston Salem; and a power brownout had ruined my existing receiver!

It took me a while before I was able to adjust the settings to get the sound that I like when listening to music. After using the YPAO I noticed the subwoofer is not as cutting on when I wanted it to even in auto position and got the extra base enabled on the avr. Searched some audiovideo forums and found out the signal coming out of the receiver sub out is too weak and it would help if I use a Y cable and use 2 subwoofer inputs. I did and what a difference! I can feel the subwoofer now even when playing 2 ch or 9 ch stereo. For watching movies I just use the surround AI and I'm quite happy!

Bought this from the in-store demo at magnolia room. Haven’t hooked it up yet but I can’t wait. Bought an old Rotel 60wpc amp. I wonder how it’ll sound.

This unit sounds great and performs exceedingly well in multi-zone applications. Fourth zone is somewhat limited as it is dedicated to just HDMI sources. Front panel could be more intuitive but the applications and remote control makeup for front panel limitations. I was concerned that there was not going to be enough flexibility for audio outputs as I have fairly complex set up, but this unit was able to meet all of my needs and indeed exceeded my expectations. Looking forward to exploring more of the features built into this unit over time but for now, I could not be happier with what it has provided so far.
