Customers express satisfaction with the sound quality, ease of use, and setup of the AVENTAGE RX-A4A receiver. Many appreciate the ample HDMI ports and powerful performance, while some find the size and display less appealing. Positive feedback also highlights the YPAO system and MusicCast functionality. However, a few customers note the price point as a potential drawback.

Solid receiver. Have had it a while now. Not sure it is the best as it is limited on features compared to others in this price range, but Yamaha charges more. Had a Denon but had to change due to hdmi issues. This handles hdmi better, but still not perfect.

Another phenomenal Yamaha receiver!
This is the next generation receiver that will hopefully last another 10 years, it has all the latest technology. I could not be happier with this AV amp.

This receiver is awesome. I like the design more than the previous models (RX-A2080) etc. The only thing I don’t like is the AV CONTROLLER App can’t be used with this receiver. According to Yamaha the new receivers are not compatible with the AV CONTROLLER App.

Wow, not too impressed with this unit. I always been a Yamaha Person since the 80s. Started out with the DSP-A2070, great unit, quality controls and Display. After 20 some years went with a RX-A1080. Not a bad until the Main Channels started making a bad popping noise. Ok, enter the RX-A4. Plastic top, Ugly Display just overall cheep feel and looks. Enclosure of a $200.00 unit. Come on Yamaha you can do better than this. I will se how it "Plays", thinking about returning it. See it before you order it from no on.

amazing receiver and easy to use. still lacking the HDMI 2.1 features that have been promised since 2020. If all features were working this would be an easy 5 star product

This is advertised as being able to pass through 4K/120, such as on the Xbox Series X. I can promise you it doesn’t, and your Xbox Series X will tell you that all HDMI 2.1 features are not available. I contacted Yamaha to verify this was the case. They told me that there will be a future firmware update to implement these features, but that most receivers will require a hardware replacement (free of charge, but you have to ship it to them for the work to be done). I’ll update this review when my Xbox Series X sees this receiver as HDMI 2.1 compatible with my LG CX OLED. Until then, don’t waste your money.

Just what I needed. Net radio was a bonus. Set up and wiring took some time. Customer service was great even though it was remotely completed.

This unit replaced a 15 year old Yamaha RX V 2700, which was on pretty much 24/7. The display got too old to see. This thing blows it away. I used the YPAO, and the results are amazing. Clarity, localization, and everything else is just off the charts. I have nice speakers ( Scan Speak and Morel ) so the truth is being heard. Just great for movies and music. The dual output HDMI is very useful. We have a projector on the patio for outdoor movies, with just two speakers - the mix down to stereo is excellent. 100% worth the money.

Many things wrong with this shipment: wrong model receiver, wrong manual, bent WiFi antennas, poorly packed... definitely won't buy Open Box from Best Buy ever again!
