This unit replaced a 15 year old Yamaha RX V 2700, which was on pretty much 24/7. The display got too old to see. This thing blows it away. I used the YPAO, and the results are amazing. Clarity, localization, and everything else is just off the charts. I have nice speakers ( Scan Speak and Morel ) so the truth is being heard. Just great for movies and music. The dual output HDMI is very useful. We have a projector on the patio for outdoor movies, with just two speakers - the mix down to stereo is excellent. 100% worth the money.

Many things wrong with this shipment: wrong model receiver, wrong manual, bent WiFi antennas, poorly packed... definitely won't buy Open Box from Best Buy ever again!

Works and sounds great easy to setup I’ve had Yamaha ave receivers for years and this one lives up to older models !

Fantastic sound, especially in AI. However the subwoofers would stop firing after about 10 minutes. Reset it and it was good for about another 10 minutes then same thing. I will purchase another one when they become available again.

I have to say this is one of the best Yamaha receivers I’ve ever owned by far!! Great sound and features packed in a well designed new look!!

Waited for months for this to be stocked and found it at Best Buy ahead of other sources. Local store had one left and I purchased it on line. When I picked it up, one side of the box had a deep gash on a corner but taking the receiver out there was no apparent damage and I accepted it with the reassurance I could return it if any problem. It appeared to work fine but in following the setup instructions, the receiver did not generate a temporary WiFi connection to enable the set up despite multiple attempts. Also, I kept getting "Decoder Off" message/play malfunction watching a movie with firestick input. I googled this problem and it appears to be a known Yamaha issue that reportedly is solved by cutting the power to the firestick and receiver allowing each to "reset." That did not work. The user manual is over 300 pages and I found it difficult to navigate. I returned the Yamaha unsure if the problems were damage related or not. I picked up a Denon AVR-X3700H which is working very well. The Denon receiver took me though the set up displayed on the TV in no time and the electronic manual is EXCELLENT and easy to search. Best Buy handled the problem without a hitch.

Does this have Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos? What does a use for sound calibration?
