This receiver is a really great buy for the money. Easy to hook up and use. Depending on how new your other components are, you may need to add a sub woofer and a newer turntable that has an option for line OR phono inputs. This will allow you to really hear the lower register of music, and give you a nice full sound. The turntable I bought was the Audio Technica AT-LP60 for $89. Sounds great.

This is a perfect starting point for a quality 2 channel setup. I personally prefer a class AB sound to the lower end class D amps that are popular these days. Not to say those don't have their value and use, but this is legitimately a fine starting point for a multi-source hi-fi setup. Looks to have 6800μF per channel which is not half bad and gets very close to it's rated power at a THD which is not a completely unreasonable distortion level, something to double check with other units. I will say that the newer Yamaha models have a more neutral and laid back presentation than the typical V curve "Hi, I'm here!" sound that Yamaha was known for during the 90s/00s. It does seem to have slightly forward upper top end but easily adjustable with tone control and very much dependent on equipment pairing. Overall though, this is a slightly warm, laid back, fairly neutral unit that will pair well with many different speakers and sources. One thing I noticed was that lower quality recordings were still listenable, even with speakers known to be somewhat revealing. I have also found this to be the case with the higher end Yamaha models as well and is a real asset in this day and age. I can't really find too much to fault here given it's price point and overall performance, just don't expect it to be able to power large demanding speakers to high dB levels. You'll enjoy this unit for years to come.

This is a very basic unit, but works well. Limited inputs but the bluetooth connection works which is the main input we use with this unit. Plenty of power to play loud if you would like. You do need to use the remote though to generate the bluetooth link.

The unit arrived as expected. This is simple and very good receiver with 2 channels for speakers. I used one channel for outdoor speakers, one for indoor. To my surprise both channels could be on at the same time, didn't realize that at first. Overall economical and solid choice for good quality startup sound systems Bluetooth is a big plus.

I bought this as a gift for my wife to use in her studio with a pair of Klipsch bookshelf speakers. It had enough power for them with no problem at all. It is very easy to set up and the controls are intuitive to use. The system sounded good but it did not have a phono input. Not that big a deal if you do not listen to records. I would say it is a great value but you will not be thumping the neighborhood with it.

I've been looking to power my Bose 301's for sometime wirelessly. I've tried higher end receivers with WiFi without success. I always had connectivity issues. I decided to go bluetooth and this has proven effective. I needed an adaptor which was inexpensive but the connectivity is no problem and sounds great. I know audiophiles are not fans of bluetooth but I can't hear the difference. I also needed an inexpensive pre-amp for the turn table as this one does not have phono inputs. Great value for the price!

Have this receiver in the garage and love the fact I can use my cel phone to listen to my music. Also the channels (A/B) allows you to have two different sets of speakers in two different locations. You can play music on one channel or the other or both at the same time.
Excellent purchase and very economic.

Great sound! Replaced my old receiver, which had failed after many years. Was surprised at the improvement in sound clarity and depth. More volume than I can use. Tuner section is a definite improvement over my old system. There are a few features that work well but you have to read the manual to understand how to set them up. You can set the initial volume when the unit turns on. You can set the maximum volume you wish to have, or just let it blast out the full 200 watts - careful for your speakers, if they will not handle this volume. A good option.
I am not using a phonograph, so I do not need a preamp feature, which is missing from this unit - too bad. If you need the preamp feature you will have to buy a seprate feature or buy a more expensive unit that incorporates the device.
Overall, I am very happy with this unit. The remote control is easy to use, but a little large. Miss being able to set stations and going directly to them, but going up/down the presets is common now. The AM section is useless. The AM antenna does not really work.

I paired this receiver with some Polk Audio bookshelf speakers and the sound was great. Also hooked the TV up to it and the sound far exceeded my expectations. The Blue Ray was a breeze to set up. What more can you say. I'm very happy with all the results.

The Yamaha 2 channel receiver has nice looks and the bluetooth is easy to hook up to any remote sending device such as ipod or tablet, iphone or android device. Clear sound and having AM as well as FM is a plus because SONY's equivalent two channel unit does not have an AM band for local sports and news like this Yamaha has. Super bargain for the price. Using with a pair of Klipsh book shelf speakers is just right.

Was looking for a receiver to play music to our pool area. The make and price of this one caught my attention. Owned many Yamaha products. Glad I bought it, fits the bill. Pluses… A/B speaker selection and Bluetooth capability. It was be nice if it had an optical port for a tv. The sound is good so far. The display is a little small. Remote does everything I need.

It is a great system to use. I bought it for my garage and hooked it up to four Cerwin Vega floor speakers. They sound awesome and it has plenty of power to push sound to all four speakers. I love the Bluetooth on it as it makes it easier to connect to my phone.

This is an excellent receiver. I just needed a stereo receiver for my wife to listen to CD's and the radio. I already had a net of NHT bookshelf speakers that I wasn't using. Hooked up the receiver to the speakers and it worked great. I wanted something that would be easy for my wife to use and with the included remote she can simply access the input she needs to listen to what she wants. As you would expect this is a pretty basic receiver. RCA inputs, speaker connections for 2 pairs of speakers and that's about it but it works great and sounds great too. I ended up using the 3.5mm connection on her Sony 900E TV to connect to the receiver and now she can watch TV and listen through the receiver and speakers. If you are looking for the basic 2 channel receiver this is an excellent choice and the price is right too.

Receiver was an answer to my musical tastes. It plays all input abilities in top quality and even the turn table you get that cool feel of how a LP should sound. Very much happy.

I was looking for a receiver from my garage and this fit the bill perfectly. It has great Bluetooth connectivity and enough wattage to power two bookshelf speakers. I am extremely happy with this receiver!!
Highly recommend!!

So I was looking for a cheap receiver to play holiday tunes on outside my house... this fit the bill. Great Bluetooth connectivity and functions. The only negative is the volume is a bit low. But you can tell it's well built and for the price. Perfect!!!

I have one of these in my garage so decided to purchase another one for the lake. Have it set up with Yamaha outdoor speakers on the dock and the deck. Love the bluetooth and the sound is excellent.
Great little receiver from Best Buy. Awesome
