I bought this receiver to upgrade my old one. The same brand with obviously more features. Easy to install and use. You may need to download the user’s manual since it comes with a quick reference guide.

We purchased this to replace a much older Yamaha receiver which did not have HDMI capabilities. We're just as pleased with this one as the older one - works great, setup was easy, and the sound quality with our speakers is wonderful.

I love my new receiver I have the same one but it was 10 years older I felt lost when it finally quit this area has plenty of power sounds excellent fills my house with beautiful sounds I would highly recommend this receiver for the money it's outstanding Yamaha makes some very good stuff thank you Yamaha

I have always found Yamaha receivers to be excellent products. It is easy to set up and use.

Love this receiver so much that I forced my brother-in-law to buy the same one (he loves it).... above 100watrs per channels, Bluetooth connectivity and different type of input. Only problem is that you need a MIC amplifier for karaoke :(.....

This is a nicely featured A/V receiver for the budget conscience buyer. It has a nice simple layout and produces decent sound. It's Bluetooth enabled so you can play music from a smartphone or other device. For less than $250 it is well worth the money.

Powerful receiver even with my old speakers. Bluetooth, radio, and controls TV inputs. Aded a powered to add more bass. Love the diagnostic microphone which makes sure your surround sound setup correctly.

I bought this receiver to replace my 10 year old Yamaha receiver. It works well. I really enjoy being able to connect my Bluetooth enabled gear. The sound s crisp.

Set up and attaching all my components I have had for awhile was easy. My surround sound is very good. Changing what is connecting to my large display from my Cable box to Xbox system is much easy now. Replace a working receiver unit 30+ years old.

I purchased this for my 75” LG Tv. It was easy to set up and I connected this to my Sony surround speakers. The system makes me feel like I’m in a theater. I love it!

I held off giving it 5 stars because we have had this for just a bit over a month and are still learning how to use it properly. The physical setup is pretty straightforward and it appears to be working properly, but there are so many nuances to all of the possible settings that it takes time to understand and try out all of the possible settings to get the best sound. On a related note, my only complaint is that the user guide that comes with it is all but useless. You have to download a 100+ page owners manual in order to figure out the entire setup. It seems like a product like this should really have a complete printed manual in the box.

I searched and compared receivers that had plenty of volume, punch,bluetooth, 5.1-CH,HDMI® 4 in/1 out) 4K Ultra HD support, Dolby Vision and positive reviews. I also did not want to spend a lot of money. This receiver has an incredible, crystal clear sound and plenty of bass punch. It is right up there with the high dollar receivers and for $279.95 you can't beat it. I've been a musician all my life, toured with many name acts and I know sound. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great surround receiver for an excellent price.

As far as I'm concerned, Yamaha and Denon are the cream of the crap for receivers. This is my second Yamaha receiver, an upgrade from my aging V375, and I couldn't be happier. Plugging in cables was a cinch, config menus are responsive and intuitive, and the thing is built like a tank.

Can't beat it for the price. So far so good. The Yamaha RX-V3858 was a good buy.

Sound is GREAT! Bought an open box unit. It was rated as "excellent" and it was. I don't think it had ever been used, since the power cords was never unwrapped. Saved $100. Incluedse a mic for synchronizing the speakers, easy to do, but concerned will loose it! That is why I down graded easy of use
