Very easy setup...bought a new home and previous owner did not leave receiver, just speakers and unmarked wires out the wall. Would recommend using banana plugs for connections as it took me a bit determining L/R/C...the surround setup/calibration feature was helpful for this. but once complete all functioned well. Very satisfied.

Bought this to use on hard wired speaker system in house with multiple speakers. No offense to their geek squad who quoted me a $5k system and $1k to install but - I only needed this receiver. Works great. Can use with radio, Bluetooth, tv. Quality name made a quality product.

super easy setup, has a mic for sound fine tuning based on room, easily detected device that's plugged into each hdmi slot, (plugged in ps4 and it recognized it was a ps4 and not a blu ray player or xbox) the back has plugins for banana plugs for better speaker connectivity. overall a great entry level receiver

This replaced a 20-year-old RCA receiver. It's been in service a few weeks with no issues. One minor drawback was the number of audio inputs on the back. I'm running a cable box, DVD player, and CD player. I had to get creative with an optical digital cable to make it all work. The only disappointment, and it's not unique to this brand, is that the new receivers don't have the subwoofer amplifier built into the unit. They're all designed for a subwoofer with an external amplifier. My RCA unit had the old style subwoofer. Rather than put out another few hundred bucks for a good subwoofer, I'm using the audio features available, especially the bass boost, and simply not using my subwoofer.

Good quality worth the money, easy to operate, sound is great

I've used Yamaha audio starting in the 1960s and they last and give memorable performance. The last amp didn't get used for several years and that was fatal, and it was sold for parts to an engineer with curiousity. This latest 5.1 has not quite matched up with others. Far from ilntuitive controls. FAR. And the FM is not to my liking; all radio sound lacks something. Perhaps this is placement or my settings, but clarity and presence are lacking. Another site should be tried, for the device deserves better.

Great purchase. It’s just a newer version of my old receiver that died after many years. It was the upper level of open box buy, and am very satisfied with purchase. Came in factory packaging, with all factory accessories. Worth the savings.

Goo# sound for oarice. User friendly and living up to yamahas known reliability.

This receiver sounds great and functions perfectly. The only is I had in setting it was with the speaker terminals. You have to wrap the wire around the post instead of threading into the terminal that has a secure clamp. Other than that it’s a great receiver fir a 5 speaker system

This is a reasonably priced home theater receiver that provides excellent sound . Mine has a strange glitch...when I set my system to come on all at once, the protection circuit puts the speakers on mute. I then have to turn off the receiver and then turn it back on for the speakers to fire up!

Had the receiver installed last week, it is a very nice receiver and surround sound very good. The remote is very easy to work with, to change from Dish to DVD or games or whatever we want to do. Very good for the price. The only thing that I can criticize is that when you increase or lower the volume, it doesn't show on the tv.

I don’t know what I am doing wrong but the sound keeps cutting out for a second or two randomly. It only happens when using tv audio through it, Bluetooth has no cut outs. I’m not super tech savvy so take this with a grain of salt because it is possibly user error. That being said it’s either tricky to set up or has audio issues. But when using Bluetooth I like it fine.

The stereo was very easy to set up and the quality is good.

Easy to setup, this is my second one. We put one in our movie room and the 2nd one in the motorhome to replace the out-dated system there. In both cases I needed a 5.1 system and this fit the build. Works great with DirectTV, Bluetooth and other sources. Greatly simplified the wiring from the older system.

This is my 3rd Yamaha receiver - I trust their products. Needed something inexpensive and uncomplicated for a small room. This receiver was perfect. Probably deserves 5 stars, but the bluetooth seems fussy and I haven't figured out why yet.
