Really good receiver for the price. I don’t have a whole house sound system so didn’t need to buy more than was needed and this one is great for the 3 speaker system I have. I only wish that the manual would’ve told us we needed a different HDMI cable in order to use only one remote vs one for TV cable and one for receiver.

I needed an upgrade/replacement for my old receiver (which was over 15 years old and finally gave out.) This one is great for the price, was easy to set up and gets the job done for my basement TV and speakers. Happy with my purchase and would buy another one if i ever needed for a different TV in another room of the house.

When I got the receiver home, I was a little bit, overwhelmed with the complexity of hooking it up. After three weeks of frustration, I called Best Buy with my issues. Of course she suggested the geek squad, but I really couldn’t afford it. Thankfully she suggested I call Yamaha. It really worked out because the representative walked me through it step-by-step and I got everything up and working. I’m very happy with the receiver now.

I have two perfectly good Yamaha receivers but needed to replace one due to hdcp 2.2 to go with our new 4k tv. Everything works as it should. I like the old remote better because you could pick the hdmi directly as opposed to scrolling up or down. I did program the colored buttons so this helps. I had a Sony for 15 years but the reliability does not appear to be the same for the newer receivers. I had two Denons and they had issues in a relatively short period of time but of course outside of warranty. I have not owned the high end units so I cannot attest to their reliability. For me the Yamahas have been the most reliable receivers for under $500. Fine the manual online. It helps tremendously when setting up this device with your tv.

I saw this in the Open Box section of my local Best Buy. It was just the receiver with nothing else. No box, remote, etc. I have another similar receiver at home and that remote works for this on as well. Plus my TV can control the volume. I gave it to my kids to use with their xbox. It sounds great and has better features than the one my wife and I use. I may steal this one from them and give them the old one.

Had the same model taken out by lightening. love this receiver. Sounds great! Set up is easy, Bluetooth is seemless.

Upgraded from my 16 year old Yamaha receiver. Paired with a 65" Samsung Neo QLED TV and Klipsch surround sound speakers for the perfect setup! One HDMI cable connection through the eARC ports simplifies everything!

Excellent value for such a capable receiver. Geek squad connected it to my tv and 5 speaker surround sound system and it works beautifully with great sound!

Needed to replace 25-year-old receiver so I could connect our smart-tv to it. Did not want to spend a lot of money because we do not use it with our tv very much. Looked at this unit and the Sony unit that has the same price. Glad I bought this one. So many sound fields and quality sound. Has plenty of power for our open floor plan 18x20 great room, connecting dining room, and breakfast room.

This Yamaha receiver has great sound. I have a set of Energy Micro 5.1 speakers hooked up and it sounds fantastic. Setup is not quiet as user friendly as some and requires a little more doing than others but it's still not too very difficult. I really like all of the speaker hook ups are binding posts.

Works as advertised. Set up was simple and straightforward. Paired with my Smart TV easily.

Very happy with the purchase. Sounds good, easy to use,4k/hdmi inputs work great. Cant complain yamaha is a great brand. Would buy again.

So far so good. I didn't need much in the way of bells and whistles, but this one is a really great value. There are plenty of HDMI and other inputs. It drives my speakers just fine, and even supports Dolby Vision which is an upgrade over my other unit. The real test will be how well it will hold up over time. I have this receiver outside in a stone enclosure (outdoor kitchen). I have had my other Yamaha for several years inside and assume the brand reliability gives me the best chance for surviving through the mild winters of TX, as well as the scorching heat in the summer. A friend of mine down the street has gotten over 3 years (and counting) from his similar setup. My only complaint is that not all of the functions seem intuitive...but neither was a Pioneer I had many moons ago.

Bought this to replace an older Yamaha 5.1-Ch receiver that was dropping HDMI connections. This one is working perfectly with my system and I can really notice the difference in sound and picture quality. Very easy to install and set up the speaker sound. I use a Harmony remote with it. I am using a Comcast Xfinity DVR, Samsung TV and a Panasonic Blu-ray player.

was in the market for a good receiver, but nothing to crazy expensive. I was between this one and the sony, after reading the feature differences i decided this one was best. Definitely no regrets. It's hooked up to samsung 5 speaker surround, and polk audio 10" powered sub. Output is incredible.

This is my first av receiver and it was easy to set up, I paired with some Sony bookshelf speakers and it sound really good, however this receiver runs a little bit hot, so make sure it has good ventilation, I've had it for the last 7 months and haven't had any problems.

Exceptional quality and great sound! This is VERY versatile and there are many sounds to choose from. This is a fantastic addition to any sound system!
