Excellent budget receiver. I purchased this product primarily for the virtual cinema front capabilities. Due to space restrictions speakers cannot be placed optimally. Using the virtual front setting along with ypao adjustments provide an immersive soundstage. This setup absolutely spanks any sound bar. Five channel stereo setting unleashes a full wall of balanced sound phenomenal for music playback. Only four stars due to lack of support for the MusicCast app and crossover settings cannot be individually adjusted for each channel.

We bought the predecessor to this system about 20 years ago at Radio Shack. Yamaha made this system at the time for RS. It worked fine for all these years … and it never died … we replaced it for 2 reasons … 1. the remote died and we couldn’t source a new one, and … 2. We needed more modern features that didn’t exist 20 years ago … the old system is in a box in the garage … I can’t throw it away since it still runs fine !…

Very easy to hook up. Provides great sound system to any speakers you have. Provides great sound not only on movies but t.v. and CD's.

This work up Great with the Arc hdmi to our new TV. The sound is Fantastic the channels work Great with the Surround sound.
