    Bought for Yamaha reliability

So far so good. I didn't need much in the way of bells and whistles, but this one is a really great value. There are plenty of HDMI and other inputs. It drives my speakers just fine, and even supports Dolby Vision which is an upgrade over my other unit. The real test will be how well it will hold up over time. I have this receiver outside in a stone enclosure (outdoor kitchen). I have had my other Yamaha for several years inside and assume the brand reliability gives me the best chance for surviving through the mild winters of TX, as well as the scorching heat in the summer. A friend of mine down the street has gotten over 3 years (and counting) from his similar setup. My only complaint is that not all of the functions seem intuitive...but neither was a Pioneer I had many moons ago.

Bought this to replace an older Yamaha 5.1-Ch receiver that was dropping HDMI connections. This one is working perfectly with my system and I can really notice the difference in sound and picture quality. Very easy to install and set up the speaker sound. I use a Harmony remote with it. I am using a Comcast Xfinity DVR, Samsung TV and a Panasonic Blu-ray player.

was in the market for a good receiver, but nothing to crazy expensive. I was between this one and the sony, after reading the feature differences i decided this one was best. Definitely no regrets. It's hooked up to samsung 5 speaker surround, and polk audio 10" powered sub. Output is incredible.

This receiver has a lot of features for the price and has a good sound. I haven't exercised all the features and may not ever do that. I've bought it mostly for music and it sounds great. I'm using it in 3.1 mode, LF, C, RF with a subwoofer and I am very happy. The receiver section gets radio well and the USB input is a convenience that I did not anticipate. Bluetooth transmit and receive are both useful and work well.

This is my first av receiver and it was easy to set up, I paired with some Sony bookshelf speakers and it sound really good, however this receiver runs a little bit hot, so make sure it has good ventilation, I've had it for the last 7 months and haven't had any problems.

If I could rate 4.5 I would, because it is better than “good”. It’s at least “very good”. All that keeps it from an excellent 5 stars for me is wishing it had more HDMI inputs. Otherwise, it is great. Setup is easy, and if you have a decent surround system, your sound will be outstanding.

Easy set up, walks you through step by step. Also plenty of options to play around with. Super User friendly. Make sure you have a base speaker to get the full power and effect of this receiver. Picture quality looks great on 4K tv, just ensure you buy the 4K hdmi cables(from Amazon..and not BB..you know why..*coughs over priced*. Also upstreams @ 4K. Obviously must have 4K tv for 4K content. =)

Good basic Receiver for the price . Bluetooth works well . I have smart tv so I'm not using the video through it . I'm using optical for the sound and its pretty good . I had a very old Harman Kardon budget receiver which was better sounding unit with the same speaker set . but overall Yamaha is decent considering the price .

I found this receiver to be well worth the price and it was easy to set it up and the quality was outstanding. Helpful tip, If connecting to a 4K Television. Make sure you cables are 2.2 High Grade to get your true 4K resolution if you are running it through the Ark connection. I am super happy with this purchase

When I got the receiver home, I was a little bit, overwhelmed with the complexity of hooking it up. After three weeks of frustration, I called Best Buy with my issues. Of course she suggested the geek squad, but I really couldn’t afford it. Thankfully she suggested I call Yamaha. It really worked out because the representative walked me through it step-by-step and I got everything up and working. I’m very happy with the receiver now.

I bought this receiver for my LG C9 OLED TV and it works well with Dolby Vision and HDR10 movies. I like that you can set up external speakers without a subwoofer and configure 5 speakers with virtual surround sound. I also like that the sound through connected headphones is amazing. The price of this receiver was perfect and the quality is amazing.

This is my second Yamaha receiver and I highly recommend them. Easy to connect and easy to set-up; the sound quality is great, even at high volumes. Setting up a Bluetooth device to play music through the system worked flawlessly. You could probably pay more for a receiver, but in my opinion, that would likely be unnecessary.

I bought this receiver to replace my old one which was just an 5.1 audio receiver. This receiver is an a/v receiver and I am amazed at the difference in the sound as well as the picture. The set up was easy with the microphone that came with the receiver. I am looking forward to enjoying this for years to come.
