The worst of the early Connery
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good movie. It's actually 3.5 stars but doesn't quite get to 4. It doesn't compare to Goldfinger or From Russia With Love. It comes close but just misses being as good as Thunderball. Still, it's entertaining & it's the great Sean Connery.

Great Steelbook from 007 Spectre movies
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You Only Live Twice isn't a great Bond film but it has the best representation of Blofeld courtesy of Donald Pleseance so its great for that reason alone and this new Steelbook packaging is very attractive.

Another Exciting 007 Mission
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This classic Bond tale looks great on Blu-ray. Though not the best 007 film, it is still wildly entertaining. And the Best Buy exclusive steenbok cover is gorgeous!

Too Bad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the few Sean Connery Bonds that is very bad. It is beyond corny and silly.

James Bond prevents space hijackings
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE is among my top four best Bond movies. The plot has Bond trying to prevent SPECTRE from starting World War III by hijacking US and USSR space capsules and misleading the two superpowers into thinking they themselves are responsible and launch retaliatory nuclear attacks on each other. Donald Pleasence (HALLOWEEN) does an excellent job as SPECTRE's Ernst Stavro Blofeld who is seen in full for the first time, and look for Charles Grey as a Bond ally who played Blofeld in DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER. Although Bond's Aston Martin DB5 is not featured in YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE, its absence is admirably filled by Little Nellie, a gyrocopter armed with machine guns, missiles, air mines and a flamethrower. Lastly, Nancy Sinatra sings the theme song composed by John Barry which is my personal favorite among the Bond movies.

A delightful ride
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sir Sean's 5th turn as Bond finds 007, after faking his death in the name of national security, going to Japan to investigate the disapparance of U.S. and Soviet spacecraft in the hopes of preventing WWIII. He eventually comes face to face with SPECTRE's ruthless leader Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Donald Pleasance, looking wonderfully sinister). There not much suspense here, but the film is still entertaining with beauiful shots of the Japanese countryside as well as Ken Adam's Oscar-worthy volcano set (which Austin Powers would spoof over 2 decades later).

Bond by the numbers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is Bond by the numbers, with the great Road Dahl doing his best Ian Fleming impression, adding all the elements: exotic locales, beautiful/deadly women, evil would-be world-taker-over, incredible gadgets. The film doesn't quite live up to its potential, and there are definitely some un-PC parts that some viewers may view as racially insensitive. Still, a good watch, and Connery is always great. The disc is loaded with extras, including a cast/crew commentary.

Bond in Japan! A film with so many iconic moments.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From the "Little Nellie" to the Dr. Evil-inspiring Blofeld (complete with volcano lair) to Bond "becoming" Japanese, this film has a little bit of everything. It's campy and decidedly un-PC, especially by contemporary standards, but it's a worthy sequel in the Bond series (certainly better than most of the Roger Moore films.) The BD offers a decent amount of extras, and lossless audio. Highly recommended for any fan of the film.

Bond vs. Blofeld---in Blu-ray!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has the action and gadgetry we expect in a Bond film, plus a Japanese setting which takes us from the streets of Tokyo to the hills of the countryside. The villain is diabolical, the women are beautiful, and M, Moneypenney, and Q are as droll as ever.

What can I say really, its james bond on blu ray.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a james bond film when they were still good and not a boring special effects movie with too much action and not very memorable characters. Even the older not so good JB films still had interesting characters and settings. The picture and audio were good, and it came with a decent amount of bonus content.

Bond in Japan
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yet again a very nice transfer to blu considering the age of the film. Although not one of my favourite Bond movies, this one is worth picking up for the transfer and the lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound treatment.
