Customers love the keyboard quality and ease of use of this product, frequently praising its protective case and impressive battery life. However, some found the added weight and bulk to be drawbacks, while others experienced minor issues with the fit and hinge mechanism. A few users also suggested improvements to the case's design, such as adding a USB port.

It was hard to get the Ipad into it

I received this as a gift. I was disappointed that Best Buy would accept a return that was obviously used. The seal on the box was broken and taped over. It was obvious that it had been handled. Laying that aside, it was hard to insert the Ipad. I would not recommend it.

    Perfect for my needs

This thing works great. I read some other reviews about it fitting so tight on your iPad. Well isn't that the point? I would think a tight fit would be an advantage. I don't plan to take the iPad out of the case...so, again, I see the tight fit as a plus. (I guess if you want to use your iPad in portrait mode, then the tight fit might be problematic. I don't, so it's all good for me.) I also saw complaints about the USB port being covered up by the case. Again, that seems to be an advantage. Being covered means you're less likely to get debris in the port. And since...from what I hear...you probably only have to charge the keyboard a few times per year, so what if the port's covered up? (I don't know how long the charge lasts...but I haven't had to recharge mine yet.) The keyboard IS very easy to slide out of the case...so you slide it out, plug it in overnight, and use it for 3-4 months until it's time to charge it again. The keyboard works very well...it feels pretty much like a full-size, normal keyboard. The magnetic switch (or whatever it is) that automatically turns my iPad on/off works flawlessly. I saw some complaints about interference with screen protectors. No comment...I don't have a screen protector on my iPad. This case/keyboard basically turns my iPad into a (somewhat less functional) laptop. It's perfect for me to take to meetings and that sort of thing. I use an app that lets me log into my desktop back at the office...so I actually have all the functionality of my desktop with me all the time. Though for some things it's a little tedious to use on the small screen. But...this review was supposed to be about the case/keyboard. It works perfectly for my needs and I have zero complaints with it.

    Amazing and long battery life

This unit has been extremely easy and efficient for me to use. I had a tablet that did not have a case with a keyboard and it was a pain to type a lot with. With this keyboard I am able to type just as efficiently as if I was at my desktop or laptop. The battery life lasts longer than I expected, even with all of the other reviews. The cover snaps in place but is easily opened if you slide the two sides apart before you pull then its not a big deal as others have described. If you just try to open it without this it could be tough to open, I have been able to open it with one hand. While at work walking around I am able to use one hand to "pinch" the cover to be able to hold it and type with one hand on the keyboard while walking around with my customers. This makes my iPad more efficient than any other device, even a pen and notepad (I have bad handwriting). I would definitely recommend this to anyone with an iPad.

    Great device!

I got this case/keyboard for my work iPad. First, it's a good typing experience, whether on a desktop or lap. Second, the case is sturdy enough to protect the iPad even from my mishaps. I've had this case for a couple of months, and I only had to charge the keyboard once, so tht's a winner. My only nitpick is that the keyboard slides out of the case too easily. Personally, I want it to stay in the case, so ease of removal is a moot point. All-in-all, recommended!

Thought this would be a good idea. It scars the screen saver and the battery lasts no time before requiring charging.

Gets the job done but battery life is short

    Posted .

The manual says you'll only have to recharge a few times a year but I've found that battery life even if the keyboard is not used at all is only a couple of weeks. The keyboard has a good tactile feel but the layout is still small compared to a laptop keyboard. It's an improvement on the iPad touchscreen keyboard. Setup is very easy, especially if you've ever set up a Bluetooth headset for a phone. The case is robust but the closure clasp depends on a good fit at the clasp. The case is one solid piece of plastic which means the hinged side is just folded plastic and the clasp is just a notch of plastic. This means that the hinge wobbles a bit and you have to wiggle things around a little to get the clasp to close. This is probably a good tradeoff against using real hinges and clasps, which are more expensive to make and prone to breakage. Once closed it stays closed. The only suggestion I would make is to add a little slot someplace where I could put a pen or a couple of pieces of paper. Yes, even if you're using an iPad sometimes you have to write something on paper.

    Solid folio and keyboard

I bought this as a case for my ipad and it's been decent so far. The keyboard is excellent, and the case provides solid protection while still looking professional. The battery life from the keyboard is amazing, but the folio cover is coming undone at the corners after about a month of good use.

I have tried many different iPad cases and keyboards and this is the one I like the best. It offers great protection as you would expect from any Zagg product. I also have the iPad HD screen guard from Zagg. One of my dislike about thi case is the marks it leaves along the edges of the iPad where it hinges. I have the screen guard so the marks arent hurting the iPad itself just the guard. The keyboard is very nice and is responsive and comfortable to use. I wish there was a way to set different viewing angles with this folio. I have been using this case for over a month now and I am very happy with it and would recommend to anyone looking for a cas with keyboard. The battery life for the keyboard is great. I charged it once when I first got it and still running on that charge with normal daily use.

    Awesome for productivity

This thing is awesome. I use it for work and it makes typing notes in meetings so much easier. Coupled with a Microsoft office suite app, and the LogMeIn remote access app, it effectively increases the productivity of your iPad and makes it that much closer to be able to be used like a computer. Your iPad will never be a laptop, so don't think you'll be able to do everything you can on a laptop on an iPad. But this thing sure makes it seem like you're working and typing on a laptop when you're using it. I love the hot keys on the top of the keyboard, and the battery life is superb. I've had it for a few months now and have yet to charge it. I hear you only have to charge it like once a year. All in all, I think it's one of the best keyboard cases out there on the market.

Strong case, good keyboard, kinda hard to get open

    Posted .

This case is very tough and strong and it makes a good prop for the i-Pad on your lap or table even if you don't intend to use the keyboard. Just put the edge of the i-Pad in the groove and you're ready to surf (only in landscape mode). The i-Pad removes easily for stand-alone use. The Bluetooth case has a very long battery life -- perhaps weeks or months. I like the good tactile feedback of the keyboard, though it should be bigger for a touch typist's taste -- but then it would have to be wider than the i-Pad. My biggest complaint about the folio is that the clasp is very hard to pry open. The clasp requires use of both thumbs and a lot of force for release. I'm thinking of shaving the clasp edge to make it a little easier.

This case is perfect for my iPad (3rd generation). I am a touch typist and using the on-screen keyboard of the iPad just doesn't work for me. I need to feel the guide bumps on the F and J keys to touch type. So, the keyboard in the Zagg Folio case is an ideal solution. The iPad connects to the keyboard with Bluetooth, and works perfectly every time. The case is compact, light weight, and it protects my iPad from damage. My only concern is that it is made of plastic and will probably crack down the road because it has to bend at the same point each time I fit the iPad into the keyboard slot. However, with the rate technology is advancing, they'll probably have come out with something whiz-bang super by that time.

    Best of Breed

I have owned several of the most current Ipad carry and protect soutions. All of which were kind of clunky and often made it more difficult to use because of a lack of intuitive human engineering. The best solution needs to consider how the product is used and what would enhance the ipad's operation. Zagg has the best solution I have found to date. It combines a keyboard with a stand and is simple to operate, configure and the case looks good The lack of documentions is a dissappointment but its not a deal breaker.

I had another brand with my previous iPad which worked but I found out after getting the Zagg that this is so much better. Hint: wait to turn on after you start your iPad, this will get your iPad to recognize it quicker. The charge last a long time but when you do have to charge it you need to pop it out of the case, I don't understand why they didn't have a cut out for it since they did such a good job with the iPad options.

Good concept, confusing marketing for iPad 3

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This product was advertised as "compatible with iPad 2 or 3." But because magnet polarity matters on the the iPad 3, there is only a 50% chance the sleep feature will work. I returned my unit to await delivery of the model truly designed for iPad 3. Clearly, this is a case of too-eager marketing by Zagg, which has cost a lot of customer confusion and frustration. Although the whole unit is a bit bulky/heavy, the hard keyboard essentially turns the iPad into a very small notebook, useful for note-taking and other business purposes. I will replace my returned unit with the "real" iPad 3 model, expected to be available in early May. Until then, I recommend testing your unit while still in the store; there is a 50% chance the sleep feature will work properly.
