It does make it harder to text, so there's that. I dropped my phone a few times while traveling and this shield performed well. Then, phone fell out of my pocket while I was using the restroom onto a concrete bathroom floor (maybe 5 - 7" drop?). Unfortunately, the upper left hand corner of my phone now has a diagonal glass break in it. Not shattered, thankfully, but if I ever attempt to switch out my phone case then I am not sure what will happen with this corner. I do have insurance but not sure about filing a claim at this point.
