I still kind of see them, but they are not nearly as unsightly as they would be without a protector like this. Geek squad installed for free when I got it there I think, which is a courtesy I really appreciate. There were some air bubbles on the edges afterwards but I took some time to press them out, and there are no issues.

I've used Zagg Invisible Shield Glass+ screen protectors since my iPhone 6 Plus and I haven't even thought of buying a different brand since! The biggest plus is that if you register it on their website it has a lifetime warranty! So if it does crack you can send them the screen protector and get a new one just for the price of shipping.
