    It helps to keep the screen from cracking. However the shield tends to crack on impacts that don't seem that hard.

    I have always gotten Zagg screen protectors for all my devices. I’ve installed these screen protectors more than a dozen times in my life. I didn’t have any problems installing this, however, it won’t adhere to the screen along the entire edge all the way around. I see similar reviews from others as well. Maybe it’s a flaw with the iPhone 8, but it was a big disappointment.
