My phone was thankfully without any damage, and I had this new screen protector installed and hope it protects my phone just as well!

I'd rather crack a screen protector instead of a phone screen. When you weigh the cost, $25 for screen protector or at least $100 for a cracked screen. It's a pretty easy decision. Plus if the screen protector cracks or starts coming off, it can be replaced for free in the store.
