Not all I needed it to be

In essence, because the case didn't fully open, it turned my ipad into a mini laptop, which didn't work for me.

But after reading up and using the lock button on the keyboard this is how to get them to link again!

The way it opens makes it perfect for watching videos as there's nothing to flip or balance. And the battery life is outstanding. As for the keyboard it functions flawlessly.
